We were passing through Liberal and wanted to take a few hours break by seeing a movie. Wished we would have kept driving after seeing this guys disgusting behavior. Luckily some other movie goes decided to set in the row in front of him. He seemed upset that he couldn't keep his feet up on the seats. The theater was nice and most of the people seemed to be having a good time and enjoyed the movie.

It's sound system is incredible: THX-certified. It's seat are beyond comfy... they're divine. It's independently owned, and an American Flag is perched above the concession stand. Prices are good. Concessions are surprisingly good. The only mark against this theater is that it does not, that I have seen, show 1st run movies. You will have to wait a few weeks for a film. But at this quality, it's worth the wait. **Parking is for free right out front on the beautifully restored Main Street.

He came to us on the side of the road in his personal vehicle (20 miles from the campground), picked up our car dollie, and stored it until the next day when we were finally able to get a tow for our RV into town for new tires. We had seen all the wonderful reviews and were so looking forward to staying at the park. It didn't work out that way for us, but our lives are better for getting to know this wonderful couple. We did make it to the park the next day and picked up the dollie, so we were able to see the very well keep property, drive in theater, parts store, repair shop, and spacious RV lots. We will go out of our way to stay there in the future!

I was just looking on the net for pictures of it out of nostalgia, and this was one of the first links that came-up, so I just had to write a review for posterity's sake. Being in High School in the mid to late 90's in the middle of nowhere, this was one of the spots of entertainment in the county. Procure a cheap keg of beer with a group of friends during the Summer, and head to the Kar Vu to drink and watch a movie. No fancy radio broadcast here, they still used the old metal speakers which I assume were the originals from when it opened in 1964. Order a pizza, but don't look at it in the light because it's disgusting... it did have a distinctive taste that I still get a craving for sometime. Tuesday nights were $20 for all of the people you could cram into a car... definitely not a good idea to offer this to teenagers. I saw a lot of movies here, but about the only one I can remember seeing here for the first time was The Fifth Element.

You can see a movie in the big old theater, which is draped in red velvet curtains and brings back glimpses of yesteryear, or you can watch in one of the smaller theaters. They offer 3D as well. I may be biased as one or two of my students work here, but the service really is always great. The facilities are usually clean. Best thing? Coming from a place where it cost $12 per person to just see a movie, the price is heavenly. It's a cool place to check out, if only for having the old skewl movie experience.
