I believe a lot of the employees are actually volunteers. There's a bit of that sort of spirit amongst the youth in Aarhus. Volunteering, self-sufficiency, all that hippie shit. It's kind of refreshing to see that it can actually work in some places. The venue is a nice space. The sound quality isn't amazing, though the equipment looks to be quite nice. The setup is pretty good. There's a standing balcony upstairs (and a small bar area) and there's a bar downstairs with table/seating behind everything in the back, with a slight view of the stage. I had my Danish friend communicate with them about disabled seating, and they said they had no actual seats and no official policy or area for disabled seating, but there is a bar area behind the bar and sound booth (not good for viewing) and on the second floor there are some boxes to sit on, and my friend was able to get a small stool for me from a volunteer. I liked it here, but I would not list it among my favorite places.

The layout is as though you are walking through a village throughout different centuries, and the buildings truly pay homage to the decade they are inspired by. The food is also excellent, everything from a bakery to hot dogs. You can even buy soap, books, homemade gifts and other knick-knacks. My absolute favorite section included the living quarters of different individuals from the 1970's. It was really like stepping back into time, and the way the museum was decorated for the holiday season is so traditionally beautiful. My best friend's family brought me here to experience Denmark's history while munching on traditional foods and embracing the holiday festivities. There are also games and activities for the little ones, and the live actors are so kind. There is really something for everybody here, and if you're in Aarhus, do stop by! You won't regret it!

They had a lot of artifacts that were brought back by a Danish explorer. In other areas they covered the people and culture of Denmark over thousands of years. The main attraction is the bog body. That's the body of a man who lived 2000 years ago. It is well preserved by the bog. We spent far more time here than we should have because it was so interesting.

It's the largest library in all 4 Scandinavian countries and even won library of the year in 2016, a year after it opened. The lighting and thoughtfully designed interior is so welcoming, even though my wife had reservations about "going to a library" it ended up being one of the coolest places we stopped at and we were here way longer than we thought we would be. You head up the stairs to the main entrance, on the left is a playground with one of the steepest and most painful slides I have ever tried, but the eagle is fun to climb on and you get great views of the city. Besides books there are cool exhibitions inside. When we went they had a "future farming" exhibit right in front with plants growing from clear plastic bags and a "CNC" machine that watered and plants crops. On another floor we found a lego play area and a section on recycling with fantastic art and free postcards. We wanted to head to another area before most of the shops closed so it felt like we didn't spend enough time here. You should set aside at least an hour to come to this amazing library, we could have easily did two hours.

The…read moremuseum is entrenched 3 meters underground, and the entrance is a single door with no attendants. In fact, there was no one working there when I visited. Ticketing is on the honor system; there was an automated ticketing machine as you started the exhibit. Apparently built on the very site where the excavation work was done, the musuem is small by comparison to most. Instead of detailing the history of the place, the displays focused on everyday life of a viking living in Aarhus. That singular focus made this museum worthwhile for me. I would imagine also that this would be a great place to escape the heat in the summer.
