We are also called to love each other and encourage each other through Christ Jesus. Pastor Mike Rondeau is our lead pastor and is an awesome servant of the lord. I know that the trials of life and the weight of the world can beat you down and pull you away from God. I know trust me I've been there as well. The Holy Bible says that God draws near those who draw near to him. If your reading these words it is not by accident.God is calling your name right now and saying come home my beloved child.God wants to be your father and a friend that is closer than a brother. Come let's worship him together. They also have viewpoint Christian academy from grades K to 12 grade so your children can go to school and also be taught the word of God. Wow how awesome is that. 1 st UU of Worcester is one of the larger UU churches in the area. It's size may play into feel…read morethe visitor experience. First of all the role of greeting visitors appears to be assigned to the greeters and pastor. Expect polite nods from everyone else. The music was professional and soothing. The readings helped me put the experiences of my week in perspective. The sermon was both intellectually and emotionally engaging for me, providing a mix of philosophical underpinnings and illustrative real-life stories. This is not typical of a UU sermon so this might not be a regular feature of sermons at this church. Afterwards at coffee hour, people gathered in lively conversation. My I-am-sort-of-lost-here look did not work to get me into any of these circles. However, most of the little exchanges were polite and friendly. Finally, I found the welcome table. Had a great conversation and was introduced to other people. Overall, I enjoyed my visit. I like to me able to observe before meeting people, so this formal approach to visitors worked for me. I plan to return to enjoy a few of the many activities offered to adults.

How do you really write a review about a church?…read more Well to start - this church is beautiful inside. You can see that they have taken a lot of care to make this church beautiful and inviting. The Pastor Terzian is very warm and easy to speak with. He makes it a point to know everyone in his church and everyone seems to look up to him and respect him. The church is very large on the inside and they have an area downstairs that has a stage for the Sunday school students and other church productions. The parking lot is very small. Street parking is available but because it is a city and there is a school right there it can be difficult to find a space.

1st off, this isn't a 'church' or any of the other options yelp gave me after putting religious…read moreorganization. They call it a 'meetinghouse' so I guess Yelp needs to add another to the list. We, my wife and I, found this place when looking for a place to get married. One of the oh lets call them stipulations, of my family to get married is that it must be in a church. Roman Catholic would be preferred but that wasn't an option for us so we went looking for a Unitarian building to get married in. Our 1st choice didn't work out, you can see my old reviews as to why. This was our 2nd choice. Let me give you a hint, make this your 1st choice! First point of contact was 'Jem' She works in the church's office and responded to my e-mail and we set up a time for my wife and I to see the inside and around the grounds of the church. When we met her and walked around the building my wife and I both loved the serency. Lots of trees and open area's, a cemetery in the back with tombstones dating back to the 1700's. The building was beautiful. When we entered into the building, wow, clean, neat, amazing. They have a balcony as well that goes all around the seating area. The alter is small, but we fit a wedding party of 10+ up there comfortably without looking cluttered. They also have all the religious symbols on the alter, a Cross, Star of David, Crescent Moon, Buddhist, Hindu, and others I didn't even recognize. The pews were old fashion, box style, with the wall in the middle so you can't slide all the way from one end to the other. you can fit 4 to 6 in each box, depending on size. There's art work on the walls new red carpeting. Even the clock on the balcony works... so I could see how late my bride was. We went back for a 2nd look with my parents in law to show them around, and Barbara, a member of the parish, escorted us and answered any questions we had and even made mention of a room up on the balcony where the bride can hide before the service begins. The dress rehearsal was great too again Barbara was the one who opened the meetinghouse for us. Then finally the day of the wedding was beautiful. Add in all the foliage in the area, and trees of yellow and reds to help make ours pictures even better. The only issues, there is not that much parking around the building, there is some, but the main parking lot is at the end of the road requiring a bit of walking, not even a tenth of a mile, but for older guest this may be an issue. But then again you can reserve the spaces in the back of the church. Also we did originally try to contact the parish's reverend to perform the service however she was not contractible when we were looking for a minister. However this is not a requirement to get married at this meetinghouse. The last thing is there is no plumbing in the meetinghouse, that means no restroom. Those are located next door at the parish hall which is a nice sized building as well located right on the property which can be used for receptions if you're looking to save a few bucks.
