Ask the Community - Nourish Personal Chef Services

Hi, I'm searching for a personal chef for this coming Friday (Valentine's Day) for my husband and I at our home. Wondering if you happen to be available. I know it's last minute so unlikely but thought I would check?

Hello Cindy! Happy to discuss things with you! I saw your email-so let's schedule a call ASAP!

Just wondering the cost for a family of 3. Probably about 5 meals/week?

Hi there! Thank you for your question. If you take a look at my website, you will see the packages there. Www.nourish-chef.com. It really depends on how much you all eat, but would definitely be enough for a family of 3 for 3 or 4 dinners and plenty… Read more

Matt and Nina helped me put together an awesome menu of hors d'oeuvres, sweet treats and a specialty cocktail. They also were able to bring an amazing bartender with the team who really added to the fun. The Truffled Mushroom Mac & Cheese, Dungeness Crab Cakes, Filet Mignon Canapes, Thai Peanut Chicken Satays, and Margherita Pizzas were a hit! Everyone was raving. We also got cheese and crudite platters. They were super helpful with keeping tables clean and refilling trays. I would definitely recommend them to friends and plan on using them for future events.

Think twice (or more) and don't do it!…read more A group of four couples (hailing from Michigan to New Mexico) were flying into Napa for a long-planned get-together. We rented a home through VRBO and thought it would be a treat to have a catered meal from Epicurean Escape. The price was over $1000 but seemed well worth it and we paid the bill 10 days prior to our arrival. Unfortunately, if not unbelievably, we were alerted by VRBO the very next day that our contract was being cancelled as the rental house had just been purchased by a new owner. Thinking we might have to cancel the trip as VRBO might not have an alternative (they did not), we immediately contacted the caterer that we would have to cancel plans. This was 9 days prior to the planned dinner. The caterer then informed us that this was beyond their normal 10 day cancellation policy and there was nothing they could do other than a (hold your breath) 25% refund!! provide a 'credit' - a great idea for a group of 8 with most of us living thousands of miles away, or assisting us in relocating to a new venue. We eventually located a hotel where we could stay and proceeded with the trip - still very much disappointed with the caterer for not refunding our money with 9 days prior notice (along with forwarding them the note of cancellation from VRBO). With a $150 delivery fee charged by the caterer for delivery to our hotel, and no way for us to warm the food in our rooms, we anticipated the meal would arrive on serving trays with sterno heaters. But of course not.. The server who delivered the food was very nice and accommodating (we tipped them as well even though the paid contract already included an 18% gratuity fee). We began eating immediately, only to find all the food (fish and beef main courses) at room temperature. Perhaps everything would have tasted better had it been heated, but classifying the meal as 'mediocre' would be overly kind. Making matters worse (if that's possible), we have been promised a 'final' contract as three of the planned attendees could not attend, and the caterer agreed to 'adjust', only to never hear back from them almost 2 weeks later. Inflexible policy + less than thrilling meals = at least in my book, an experience worth avoiding at all costs. Caveat emptor.

From the introductory call to the tasting to services on the day-of, Tim was just a joy to talk to and work with. He is possibly one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Accommodating, warm, generous, honest, and easygoing. He loves what he does and is passionate about making his customers happy; it really shows in the care that he puts into his food. And unlike other vendors for our wedding weekend who made me eventually feel like just another income-generating number -- with Tim, first and foremost, he always treated me and my family as people who deserved his attention and care. It showed in his responsiveness and in his flawless execution of planning, set up, and service on the day-of. I didn't need to worry about a thing. This is truly saying a lot because, as someone who negotiates contracts and runs transactions for a living, I'm probably one of the most detail-oriented, most-organized persons you'll ever meet. The food itself is just delicious. Guests were raving at how yummy his St. Louis ribs were. And let me tell you about his sauces. He gave me and my husband two bottles after our tasting, and I rationed those for almost an entire year so that I could always have a splash or two handy whenever I needed it. There really should be more caterers like Tim, and I thank him from the bottom of my heart for letting me and my husband express through him our love and care for our friends and family.

All done with extraordinary kindness, patience, and care. For apps, we chose beef quesadillas, tequila shrimp, and the salmon corn cakes. For entrees, we chose the salmon and the chicken, of which they have plenty of variety. For vegetarians/vegans, there was a stuffed mushroom option. Finally, for sides, we had risotto, polenta, and fresh vegetables. All absolutely delicious. Our first introductory meal was sooooo good, and included a rocky road brownie that blew my mind. I wasn't sure how the food would taste for the main event, adding 75 more family style servings. But it was just as fantastic. The consistency was very impressive. The best thing we can say about Trends Catering is that we wish it was an actual brick and mortar restaurant. Because my wife and I would go there at least once a week... If you're looking for catering for your wedding or any other event, we cannot recommend Trends enough :)
