This is a fantastic bakery! They sell a variety of savoury and sweet bakery items. I ended up getting a delicious bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast. It was served hot with a good amount of bacon inside. I also tried a Portuguese tart and it was perfect, one of the best I have had in London. I will definitely have to come back and try more of their items! read more

Excellent! I absolutely love this place for breakfast and lunch. Their cappuccino is phenomenal! As well, the selection of baked goods and pastries are outstanding. I can't recommend Nova Era enough. The only drawback is how busy it can get during peak times but that's a great reference to how much Londoner's love this location. read more

Their small tarts are amazing. Other sweets tend to be a bit too sweet though. I like their hard breads and buns too, but I bought a loaf of toast and that was dry. Had a steak sandwich, but didn't read the menu carefully and didn't realize that I could add toppings I like. The waiter asked me if I wanted grilled onion on it and I said yes..., but later I realized that I had more choices. I wish I could add more veggies in it. Nova Era is hands down my favorite bakery/café in London Ontario. The fresh-baked Portuguese bread is superb and their traditional custard tarts are incredible. This place is packed on the weekends yet the service is still quick and always friendly. All the food at nova is homemade and you can tell they put a lot of heart and soul into their baking. The cannoli's, rice pudding, coconut and almond tarts are also among some of my favorites. OK I must admit I think I've tried everything at least once and am in love with it all. I highly recommend nova era to locals and anyone coming into town for a great cup of coffee and pastry read more

This is definitely my place to go when I'm bringing something to a family or work gathering. The fruit and custard tarts are my absolutely favourite but they have a wide variety to choose from. The selection of cakes is unmatched with any other bakery and highly suggest going here for birthday cakes or for any celebrations really. I went here today with a friend to enjoy a hot beverage and dessert while we caught up. The cappuccino was delicious with awesome milk foam. We shared a cannoli, chocolate eclair, almond croissant and a sugared donut with vanilla filling (bola de berlim). What can I say? We had a sweet tooth. Everything had an unique and yummy taste. My favourite was the croissant. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is cute cafe. We didn't feel the need to rush out, which is lovely. I don't know too much about Portuguese baking, but this place is excellent to try things out. Their tarts are awesome, too (tried as a take-home dessert). read more

Affordable and filling bakery cafe and my go to spot for custard tarts (and many other tasty sweet treats) and one of my favourite chicken club sandwiches in London. Family run biz near the fairgrounds with a loyal customer following from within the Portuguese community and the neighbourhood in general. It can fill up quickly at lunch but service is fast and friendly and pretty quick turnarounds. Try the nutella version of the custard tard and definitely try a chicken club. read more

This place is a hidden gem. It's quite a trip since it's all the way near the Western Fair but it's well worth it. The food here is amazing. The sandwiches are huge and very tasty. Lovely location, atmosphere, and service. Pastries were delicious and coffee was fresh. The bread selection available was attractive and full of character. I'd be hesitant to recommend their espresso as the shots I saw being pulled were too long and it was evident the machine and grinder were not set appropriately. Despite this, I wouldn't fault the location as it seems difficult to find a proper espresso in London. This bakery proves to be a much needed and pleasant surprise in an otherwise gray and unwelcoming part of the city! Recommended! read more

Not too happy with Nova Era. I've been there before in the afternoon to pick up a loaf of bread only to find out that they've sold out of almost everything. So I figured I'd show up early to make sure I get a good selection. They open at 8, I show up at 9, but none of the bread is cool enough to be sliced! The girl tells me to come back in an hour! That's two full hours where the bread is not ready for sale even though they open at 8am. Sounds to me like they don't start making their bread early enough. It would be nice to know when stuff is actually available for sale? read more

Love this place. Its small for eat in, but service is pretty quick. Food is well priced and the desserts are great with a big selection. The custard tarts are amazing and a staple when going there.
