This is an update. We are now loyal customers ordering from them on a regular basis. I do have to say that I live nearby, but have never ever in the dozens and dozens of orders had a problem with Delivery or an unpleasant or rude person. Food is consistently delicious. We always ask for the crust to be extra crispy and it always is..... They still have an amazing and interesting menu, especially for a little good old hole in the wall special pizza place I really feel bad that anyone's had a negative experience here, because I've never seen it and you're missing out on great fresh food because of a bad experience at a really great restaurant ....and one of the few that are still willing to deliver I don't think that a lot of people give a small mom and pop food business enough thought. They are still delivering. They handle issues immediately and they still deliver delicious food, but they do have to deal with a small staff --a small space --a great local reputation, which makes them very busy at many different times. Consider when you're complaining about the Delivery are you calling on a Friday night or Sunday afternoon during football? These all make a difference Nova is not sitting there waiting for you to place your call and put it ahead of everyone else, so that you get it quickly and just the way you want it PS. You may not think it's important....but, they are one of the few food delivery restaurants that actually deliver a large flat box .....so nothing is on top of anything else. And each item is marked. Sometimes you aren't sure what each item is for a group, so this can help and you can be sure Uncle Bob isn't sitting there chowing down the wrong Burger... yours! There isn't a cold dish on top of the hot pizza box. The cheese isn't all over the place or squashed to the lid. It just works so much better than one bag piled high with a lot of different foods and containers. I just ask that you give them another try.... you might be pleasantly surprised !! Ordered 2 pizzas for carry out. They were reheated, not fresh. Nowhere near fresh. Leathery crust. It might be great fresh out of the oven, but serving leftovers when whole pies are ordered, not slices, is a real disappointment. So much for Trenton's Tomato Pie. Yuch! read more

PIZZA BY THE SLICE REVIEW Nova Trattoria recently moved to this location, replacing the Mexican casa that was there before. It is a smallish space with a row of tables along the wall, with kitchen on the opposite side behind another wall that gives the appearance of being a very narrow dining room. I ordered a slice of Brooklyn pie and another tradition regular triangle. The Brooklyn slice was pretty good - thin crust, Marzano sauce and dollops of mozza in a square pan. It was firm, crisp and pleasantly chewy. The regular slice was not as good. The crust was limp despite requesting it be reheated well done, and there was ample oil drip onto the paper plate. Just not a strong presentation. The price was good at around $5 for the slices and bottle of water. Service was pleasant from start to finish. There is much better pizza and tomato pie right nearby. read more

New to the area and have been looking for a go to pizza spot and this is very close to me. (4min drive). Pretty disappointed as on slice it has a 5 star rating. I ordered tomato pie with 12pcs plain wings with mild sauce on the side. Once I ordered on slice it was ready in 15mins. I give it that it was pretty quick. I ALWAYS order sauce on the side. I specifically added this to the notes and I even chose plain wings. Instead I get wings completely covered in sauce and soggy. On top of it not being a 12pcs but 10pcs with bones. Pizza was also warm and crust was hard. Considering a tomato pie, I was looking for it to be hot and crispy with a bit of burnt edges. Looked like a reg cheese pie with tomato sauce on top. We were a little overzealous when we ordered the Lobster tails and Escargot. Honestly, I think it's too difficult to have those dishes to-go. I had great customer service with Nova for my delivery this weekend. Sadly, it took a little longer than I expected, 40 mins for a pizzeria that is around the corner was a bit much. Prices are pretty comparable to other pizzas in the place. They have these great fried raviolis as an appetizer, (about 8 to an order) with the most amazing marinara sauce. The pizza was good, not mind blowing, but I would definitely have it again. They have some pretty interesting things on their menu that make them stand out from your regular pizza joint...like Lobster in cognac cream sauce or pork tenderloins and figs...yea, you fancy Nova. I am pretty excited about trying these and maybe some of their BBQ items (although I don't know if I trust Italians with BBQ yet). read more

The food is very good. I always order the same thing...chicken Marsala w/ potatoes and pork and figs. The chicken is so juicy and tender and the sauce with the mushrooms is the best I've had in the area. The pork and figs appetizer is tasty. I was skeptical at first and when I tried it, I was hooked. The salmon appetizer, lobster in cognac sauce over mashed potatoes appetizer...tasty. Delivery has always been fast, food delivered nice and hot. The ONLY reason why I don't give this place 5 stars is simple...inconsistency in flavor. Ordered delivery to my weekend job for the first time. Was pretty happy with the online ordering, the estimated time was accurate (45-60mins). However a forewarning for salad and shrimp lovers like me, it costs $6 to add shrimp and you only get 3 shrimp. They are jumbo shrimp, so if you're fine with paying $2 a shrimp great, if not, don't get it. I was a little upset about it. They also forgot utensils in my delivery, so that left me rummaging around my workplace asking coworkers for a fork. When I called the restaurant the delivery guy answered and didn't really provide much of an explanation. Just like, you get what you get. No customer service skills shown. Overall, I gotta praise them for the quality and freshness of the arugula salad with strawberries, green apples, walnuts, and gorgonzola cheese. Awesome! Great food. Quality salad for sure. However, I wont ever pay to add shrimp to something again. Next time, I'll try the chicken parm for $14, it comes with a salad, bread, and choice of potatoes or pasta. Given the quality of their salad, I'm sure it will taste great and be a bigger, better meal. Would order again and request utensils. read more

Had the Antipasto as a take out order. FAB- U- LOUS! It was finely chopped so that I put the oil and vinegar in the container, shook it and every bite was flavorful and delicious. This place is on track to join the other pizza places near me that I won't bother with anymore. I have been going to them, more often than not, for my pizza and wings fix since they were in their old location on N. Olden Ave.. To be honest, they never were "Wow! Their food is so good!"... but it was ok-good, and their combo specials made up for it. They used to have a plain pie, 14 wings and 2 ltr soda for approx $20 special. Most area places do 10 or 12 wings, so I was ok with at least getting volume for my money (their wings are really good, so I was glad to get a couple extra). Sometime not to long ago they reduced to wings to 10. So now their special isn't as special. About the pizza- basically, it's very bland. No tomato flavor, no cheese flavor, no salt, no garlic, no oregano, the pepperoni is blah... I end up having to "doctor it up". And the pie I got last night was a mess... the toppings were skimpy and were all clumped together near the middle and nothing by the edges.. it just didn't look like whoever made it took any time with it. So in short, the special is no longer special, and the pizza is so-so. I think I'm about done with Nova Trattoria... too bad, because I am a pretty loyal guy when it comes to eateries. read more

If you are gonna charge an extra $7 on top of the $7 base price Caesar salad, you would expect more than 3 shrimp. 2. Calamari could have used a little more spice 3. I wish Yelp would leave an option to give 0 stars because that's what this place deserves. My coworker and I decided to give them a shot for lunch and they took over an hour for delivery. I understand that the driver wasn't made clear that our work address was in Trenton but this is what they invented gps for and also a call to clarify an address would have been nice if there was any confusion. I asked for shrimp with my caprese salad and only got 3!!! For charging people damn near 6 bucks, I should have at least gotten 6 shrimp. This place truly is not worth it at all. This place is a joke. I ordered a pork roll sandwich served with an order of fries on Grubhub. I was just returning from a long flight and I wanted something quick and didn't want any fast food. So I made my order on my phone when I was 20 minutes out. I get there, tired, and the total for my order is $7.49. I give the young woman working at the counter what I thought was $10.50. I guess I gave her a nickel instead of an extra quarter. She knew exactly what I was trying to do. So instead of correcting me she gives me back 2 dollars, 8 dimes, and a penny. I didn't even feel like arguing. I just let it go. So then I asked her about my fries and she told me I didn't get fries with my sandwich. I then told her on grubhub it says served with fries. She didn't answer me she just walked to the back and some guy came and told me it doesn't come with fries. I told him it does on grubhub. The guy says "Show Me". Now I'm tired and upset. So I showed him my order where it says it comes with fries. He looks at it and says I have to wait. So while I waiting for the fries that I shouldn't have to wait for, I noticed the woman who was behind me they messed up her order and she demanded a refund. Minutes later the young woman comes from the back and says to me "here are your fries" and then turned her back to me. no thank yous, apologies, nothing. Now heres the best part: I get home and before I unpacked I wanted to eat my sandwich. I took the first bite and all I taste is broccoli, I take the second bite; nothing but broccoli. so I opened the sandwich and all I see is 95% broccoli 5% roast pork. I'm not exaggerating. Then we got a chance to order a pick up earlier, after we called they call us again asking if I want red or white sauce for my pasta I'm kinda confused because the last time I ordered it they didn't ask me becauSe it's says on the menu it has pink Brandy sauce. The food at Nova is really good, but the service is not so great. Placing an order takes about 4 minutes on the phone (we ordered a chicken cheesesteak wrap and a cheesesteak hoagie; no craziness and not something out of the ordinary for a pizza place). When we arrived to pick up the food, the girl at the counter just stared at us. No "hello", no "how can I help you", nothing. Then she apparently couldn't work the cash register. The whole experience was very uncomfortable and it isn't the first time we have experienced subpar service from this place.
