It would be 5 stars for her. We also tried the spa place and it was amazing. The rest of this review is for the management staff at the hotel. After we spent $300 per room for 18 ROOMS (!) they were super rude to us upon checkout. They wanted to charge us for "stained" towels and a "ripped blanket" which we were not responsible for. It was THE WAY they spoke to us in such an accusatory pattern, it was incredibly rude. They literally ran out to chase us on our way out to accuse us and attempt to charge us. It left such a bad taste in our mouth, I don't think we will ever be back to our venue. Even if our wedding was beautiful.

The kind of place you go to get unplugged and away from the hustle and bustle. The grounds very well kept and very beautiful and green. Natural little creeks and ponds can be seen throughout the hacienda. Breakfast is included in booking a suite. Every morning we woke to fresh made breakfast. Albeit, the choices were limited but they accommodated us nonetheless. We enjoyed our trip so much we want to make it a family tradition and go every year. A few suggestions that I believe would make the place feel even more amazing is to install ac units in the suites. There are tons of mosquitoes because of the creeks and ponds. Sleeping with the doors open does help and keeps it cool during the day and night. But it also lets in the mosquitoes and ALL of the nearby noise. Adding a mini fridge to the suites is necessary for anyone traveling with kids. I would have liked to have seen a mini fridge in our suite since we were there for a week. Other than that-we enjoyed our stay! These modifications would turn the hacienda top notch!

Recently, I stayed three nights and found my Quinta Don Jose stay a wonderful place to be. My room was quiet, comfortable and nicely appointed with everything I needed. The refrigerator and water machine were especially nice. Of note, my room was across the street from the main building (I had to "buzz" in/out of the property which was fine.) Each morning, I enjoyed a delicious breakfast and maybe a drink or two at the bar (Charlie was so welcoming and friendly!) One night, I ate at the restaurant and had an excellent meal served by my new friend Carlos (he was so nice and attentive!) While the pool water was a bit chilly, I used it 2/3 days and enjoyed the beautiful courtyard - it was a great way to relax from the hustle and bustle beyond the hotel property. Love Quinta Don Jose, would definitely return! 5 stars

Quinta Don Jose Boutique Hotel has definitely become one of our favorites, and it's one we've chosen to stay at more than once. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, and the staff truly go out of their way to make every guest feel at home. It's that "home away from home" vibe that keeps bringing us back. The rooms are cozy, clean, and decorated in a charming, authentic style that reflects the culture and history of the region. While it's not a 5-star luxury resort, it offers comfort, character, and everything you need for a pleasant stay. The hotel itself is a beautifully converted old house, complete with an on-site restaurant and bar that serves delicious food and drinks. The complimentary continental breakfast is a highlight--fresh coffee, tea, and a traditional Mexican breakfast that hits the spot every time. One of the best parts is the location--just a short walk from Tlaquepaque Boulevard, making it easy to enjoy a relaxed afternoon or a lively evening in town. Quinta Don Jose will definitely remain on our go-to list. Since we travel back home often, we usually plan to stop in Guadalajara for a night of rest, and this boutique gem is the perfect place to do it.
