George and his wife are outstanding owners they really do everything they can to make you feel at home at this cute little pizza restaurant. Craig manages the place when George isn't around and sometimes when he is and he also goes out of his way to please. Why go into Ridgewood to you nowhere for Neapolitan pizza when you can get outstanding Neapolitan right here especially their Margarita pie! And I know pizza.! The muscles and white sauce are always spectacular we add bacon that's how we like it and that's how they do it for us! And the chicken friend says with their homemade Paparradelle pasta is pretty outstanding. Lucky to have a local place like this! read more

Have picked up pizza from Novino for 4 weeks now straight on a Friday and have been very pleased. The cheese pizza we get every week and it is super affordable and delicious. It is quite heavy on the cheese, which we absolutely love with a crispy bottom. If you aren't a huge cheese fan, you can always ask them to go lighter, but we think it's the perfect amount whereas other restaurants tend to skimp. The shrimp scampi is divine and so rich. Very thick and creamy and a ton of chopped shrimp. One slice is super filling. We have also tried the veggie pizza and it was top full of plenty of veg. Again, no skimping here. Overall, we can't wait to keep coming back and feel they are generous with their toppings and the pizzas are always cooked consistently and not underdone. read more

We were searching for an Italian takeout spot the other night, when I stumbled upon Novino. We saw the positive reviews, tantalizing photos, and intriguing menu and decided that it was the place for us. We called to give our order of 2 small pizzas and some garlic knots, and the woman that took our request was a complete sweetheart. She showed just how patient she was when we called back a bit later to add 2 pastas to our order, though our earlier food items should have been close to ready at that point. We pulled up to the restaurant, which was in a large house and offered a good deal of parking, about half of which was taken. The entrance was through the back, where we first happened upon their takeout counter, while the main dining room was just beyond that. The reception area was full of plaques with awards that they had won, which was an uplifting indication of what was to come. The dining room was casual, yet refined, and seemed like a great place to try live at some point. Plus, it was BYO, which was always nice. We checked in at the counter to settle the bill and claim our meal. We paid and then I noticed that the sauce on one of the pastas was listed as "marinara", when we had requested "marsala". The woman who took our order over the phone had repeated the correct sauce to us, so it was clearly a mistake. We told the staff, and they rectified the situation in mere moments. They were apologetic and even through in a few extra garlic knots for good measure. We were blown away at just how gracious and friendly the team really was; it was service at its finest! The car ride home was tough with all of the delicious smells wafting our way, and we could not wait to get home and try everything. Our two 12" pizzas started with tender dough with just the perfect amount of chewiness to it. The crust was just crunchy enough to be satisfying without being overdone. (In fact, the restaurant lets you customize how you would like your pies cooked, and we went with "a little well-done"!) One of the pizzas was their Shrimp Scampi variety, which was insane! It was one of the best pizzas we had ever had! The shrimp had been diced, and they were clearly plumb and perfectly cooked. The chunks were also generously scattered across the pie. The sauce was essentially butter, olive oil, and garlic, and it might have been a bit buttery, but the decadence was acceptable for flavors like that! The other pizza was their Drunk Chicken Neapolitan, which had a vodka sauce, grilled chicken, and raw red onion, though we decided to replace the harsh onion with fresh broccoli instead. I was not sure that broccoli was the correct vegetable that we should have used for that purpose, but it worked well enough. The chicken had a light char and was delicious, plus the sauce was great! In terms of the pastas, we had ordered the Gnocchi with a Marsala Mushroom Sauce. The house made potato dumplings were too dense, but the sauce was excellent. We also tried the Pasta Bolognese, which was made with beef and pork in what was more a vodka sauce than a marinara one. We selected Rigatoni as its accompanying pasta. Though we were surprised to see the sauce being a pink color, we adored the dish! Lastly, though we had a ton of carbs on the table, we could not avoid the fluffy garlic knots and house made baguette. Both bread types were excellent, though the knots could have used more garlic and their accompanying cup of marinara sauce was a tad too sweet. On a whole, though, we were very impressed with Novino and will definitely be visiting them again! read more

Absolutely one of my favorite family owned pizza places in this area FOR SURE !! The service every time I come here is great ! The staff really caters to literally anything and everything that you need ! I try to come here on somewhat of an empty stomach because I need to have as much pizza as possible here lol. I would recommend to come with about 2-4 people because then you guys can get a pie or two and then share the pies ! I don't think I've been to this place and had a bad experience or bad food. It is truly amazing ! My favorite pizza pie to get is the shrimp scampi 10000% ! Mhmmm mhmm mhmm delicious ! You just have to come here to understand what I am talking about. We have ordered from here a few times and food has always been good. Never dined in though. Garlic knots are very good and pizzas have always been delicious. Our most recent visit was to pick up cannolis, but we wanted to make them special. I called and asked if the cannolis were pre filled or fresh. They fill their cannolis FRESH per order, I asked if I could bring in blue sprinkles to put into the cannolis to make them into a gender reveal surprise. We arrived with a new unopened bottle of blue sprinkles and Christina did an amazing job filling and hiding the blue. It was a little bit of a struggle at first because the sprinkles would catch on the cream and flow out, but she added extra cream to his the exposed sprinkles. And the it got easier ad she went along. She really went the extra mile to make our surprise special. read more

You know I never leave 5 stars however tonight I leave a 4.5 rating for NOVINO. We took my daughter and a few of her friends out for an early birthday dinner and everything was perfect. Service was spot on and the food well it was equally as good. This isn't just your local pizzeria, even though they have a great pie or slice if your in the mood for that. Tonight I learned teenage girls are basic (most of the time) when ordering out even when I'm picking up the tab. They had different variants of pasta dishes from Alfredo to linguini and shrimp scampi. I how ever happen to get the shrimp risotto in a light pesto which was so so good. The pesto wasn't over powering and the risotto was perfectly cooked. I highly recommend stopping in and seeing George and his team to dine in or take out. Wonderful Italian food is made here! Finally reunited with some old friends at this wonderful restaurant! We casually walked in on a weeknight and were treated like royalty. The server shared with us their specials and brought us our drinks immediately. I was very impressed with George who came out and introduce himself and was very kind. Having it happen once, I am very clear on the phone what I want yet they still can't get it right. You tell them well done, doesn't happen. You say don't cut the pie, they cut it. You order a sicillian you don't get it. I've ordered certain toppings, I get others. It never ends. I've had a conversation with woman at front desk and just got a shoulder shrug. I feel like each review depends on how each person likes their pizza. For me the pizza was way too thin with a thick crust on the end. There wasnt enough sauce and cheese to go until the end of the pizza. The garlic knots were really fluffy, soft, and still warm. I take into consideration that delivery/takeout is not the most optimum when it comes to dining but my experience was atrocious!! I ordered a pepperoni personal pizza with an order of garlic knots with marinara sauce. The pizza was burnt!! How can a restaurant send out food this badly prepared is beyond me! On top of that, the garlic knots were a little doughy; they were complete opposite of the pizza, undercooked!! The accompanying marinara sauce was runny af too!!
