I do not recommend Novotel Zurich Airport Messe. We booked one night there because some of our party were flying out early the following day, and Novotel advertised free airport transportation. Yes, free from the airport to Novotel Zurich Airport Messe, but they charge a hefty 70-franks for two people to go from Novotel to the airport in the morning. REALLY, an eight-minute ride! We ended up calling an Uber at about a third of that cost. My room, Room 637, was dirty, there was debris on the floor of the bathroom and on the night stand and under the phone, the refrigerator was not working, and the two "complementary" bottles of water were opened and half-empty. The air conditioning was barely present, and turning the fan off to high made no difference in the air movement in the room. Room 637 is especially noisy, beyond the normal aircraft and street noise, but I could hear people talking through the walls, and above us it sounded like people were dropping shot-puts throughout the night. I could hear the ball hit the floor, and then roll. Housekeeping began banging on our group's doors before 8:00am -- advertised check out time is 11:00am. The Novotel Zurich Airport Messe is tired, and run down. I found the carpets dirty, with marks and scuffs on the walls, in the hallways, elevators and inside the rooms. The room had clearly not been cleaned to even the most minimal of standards. We were left with less than a quarter roll of toilet paper, and were forced to go hunting more. Novotel Zurich Airport Messe, One Star, l wish it could be Zero Stars. Hard to believe I am in Switzerland. read more
