Recently I looked into several holiday options and on all occasions Thomas Cook tried very hard to not only beat previous quotes but also to get an even cheaper price! They also threw in some free upgrades as a thankyou! I'd avoid here on Saturdays and Sundays - Its a fairly small branch and there's not really space for more than 5-6 consultants at any one time. You can sometimes wait for 20-30 mins for an adviser and then you feel pressure to speed up on decision - not by the staff - but by the rest of the queue

I used the Bureau de Change and they were efficient and friendly as you'd expect. There are always a few holiday offers advertised in the window too. All in all a typical local travel agent.

I booked a holiday with them a couple years ago and they were very helpful and made the process easy and stress free. The holiday was very enjoyable too! :-) My recent experience with them was with the Bureau de Change that they have within the shop and the member of staff was really friendly and pleasant. I'd originally planned to get my currency from the Post Office but one look at the queue there made me decide to pop into Thomson's instead and I'm glad I did.

Canal Boat Cruises provided us with a large and varied menu from which we, as clients, chose two items for each course, starter, main course and dessert; guests were then asked in advance what they wanted to eat, and the orders were duly submitted. On the day we were welcomed aboard with 'red carpet' treatment. It is worth mentioning that access to the boat is down steps, which may make it difficult for people with restricted mobility. The space inside the boat is large and airy, and makes for a great atmosphere, with pleasant background music playing. Once all guests were on board the crew cast off for our three hour cruise during which a delicious lunch - which had been cooked on board from fresh ingredients - was served. The bar was, open, drinks were served, and everyone had a great time. The service was faultless, and we can recommend this venue for any family celebration without reservation.

My little boy loved the baby pool each day. Food was good, room cleaned nicely each day. We have booked to return again soon, hopefully on a Tuesday as this, according to the literature I read in our excellent sized room, is a very special day at the Dalmeny as this is when they have the weeky fire alarm test which I would love to experience, especially as the children's entertainment is only on a weekend during term time. I dream not only of hearing the dulcit tones of the fire alarm test...ringing out like the glorious Westminster Abbey bells, but of being there during a test evacation, assembling at the fire point (which is at the front car park), meeting the fire wardens, chatting for ages about hazards and risks...I love Health & Safety, it could be the reason I've only been married 4 times but that's another story. My wife, unfortunately, doesn't share my passion and enthusiasm for Health & Safety but she, like me, enjoys the hospitality and experience the Dalmeny offers, so we do have something in common. We are due back again for 5 nights 8-13th September, if it were possible to have a tour of the fire exits and and any C.O.S.H cages etc it would really make my day. Many thanks again to the Dalmeny team for a great stay.
