NU2U - Jacket that the store increased the price at the checkout register. For no apparent reason. See tag

NU2U, Laramie -- On October 24 at 4:30 pm, I stopped in on my way to the airport. Downstairs in the…read morebargain basement (where everything is discounted), I found a lightweight Columbia jacket and upstairs a pair of jeans. The jacket had a pink clearance tag like the other 50%-off items, and the tag matched the jacket (brand/color/size) with a printed price of $33--see my photo for reference. It was also dirty with spots on the shoulder I am hoping will come out. At checkout, the clerk said the tag was "wrong," took the jacket away, and I waited about 13 minutes at the register alone while a long line formed. When he returned, he said the jacket was now $40, but he'd honor 50% off the new price--which came to $20 instead of $16.50 (50% of $33), an extra $3.50. This last-minute price change felt confusing--especially since it was on the clearance floor and the tag details matched the item. What would have helped: * Honor clearly tagged clearance pricing (or post a clear exception policy). * If a tag needs verifying, ring up the other people with another checker so the line isn't held up. * Post the basement discount policy near the rack so expectations are clear. Sharing this so management can improve the process as this felt terrible. If there's a policy explanation I missed, I'm happy to update this review.

This shop has some great vintage western, early american and Asian items. We bought a cool three…read moretiered Asian box for $15.00that is so unique. The leather purses seem reasonable and clothing too. Except I loved the wool plaid shirts but they were a little high at $50.00 each. The store is clean and the clerk knew where to find things. I will go again next time I am in Laramie.

The first impression is that the store has a lot of merchandise to the point of appearing cluttered, but upon closer inspection, the items are well maintained and placed in an orderly way. I was greeted warmly right away from the owner from behind the register. Mimi's is one of those stores that you can get lost in finding treasures or trinkets like book, boots, furs. The owner approached in a pleasing way to see if I needed assistance. All the items are clearly marked with a price tag and to my many seemed a bit overpriced, but all were in good condition with no odors, stains or rips. The furniture portion of the store is not nearly as crowded and is arranged in living area bunches. All the items are of very good to excellent quality. The lighting is good throughout the store and sales staff are not pushy. Jane made polite inquiries and asked if another customer would like to join the guestbook for future specials. The entire 30 minutes I spent in Mimi's was great, the music not too Ioud. I would highly recommend this store.x and it was clear Mimi has a lot of repeat customers as inventory is often changing. Besides the prices, I think Mimi is taking good care of customers, merchandising and signage.

Really enjoying this store there is always something new to look at and appreciate. There is an…read moreeclectic selection and prices seem more than fair. Being a purse connoisseur I was surprised and happy to see an area with high end bags like LV, typically drive to Denver for those. Definitely worth a drive to Laramie and definitely put on my antique and flea market rotation. The ladies in the front are very knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant. Laramie is such a cute little town!

Until my recent-most stop, I could give a solid 4. Supporting a small business took priority…read moreover purchasing roasted-salted peanuts labeled as being prepared in a home kitchen. There was no indication on the label where said kitchen is nor where the peanuts came from. Similar applies to the fresh vegetables that I saw, it is early season for those. Perhaps they're from a green house - no prominent signage stated where they came from. Had I thought at the time, I'd have left the store empty-handed. Why does non-local matter to me? Because a LOCAL small business owner was denied booth rental because a small number of items offered are not Wyoming based (a larger number of items are) and are marked accordingly. This business has potential to draw in customers, supporting itself, and other booths. My suspicion from conversation with other small business owners, is that there was more to being denied booth rental than what was disclosed.
