Teddington Pool is a 'standard' indoor pool. By that I mean there are no water slides or wave…read moremachines or sprinklers or the like. There is one large pool and one baby/teaching pool (warmer and shallow). The pool is adequate, though often has sand at the bottom, possibly from the playground next door. The dressing rooms are clean, though could do with a facelift. There is also a small gym - I've never used it, but you can see it from reception (there are windows) and it looks small but adequate, if that's your thing. They run a bunch of classes, including sub-aqua and aquarobics - I've done the latter, and for a while did it every week after work on a Wednesday. It's not expensive to swim here - under £4.00, and cheaper if you have a leisure card. The leisure card is worth getting if you will be using this (or any of the London Borough of Richmond's leisure facilities) regularly. The classes also attract a discount if using a leisure card. There is a pay and display car park on site, however, you get your parking fees refunded if you are using the pool or its facilities. This is a good little local authority pool and gym. Richmond has a bigger, swisher pool - Pools in the Park - but if swimming laps or attending classes or just getting fit is your bag, this is perfectly formed.

The rooms which I know about are the main gym room, weights room, power zone and the rooms used for classes. I mostly use the power zone which I absolutely love. It's pretty unique as I haven't seen it in any other gyms I've been to - it's basically a room which is very dark with a massive tv screen showing music videos with music blaring. Really gets you in the mood for a work out - very motivating! And you don't have to worry about people seeing how rough you look when you're working out haha! Classes are also very good. The instructors really work you hard but that's the best way - need to be pushed to the limit! Though the classes are hard, they're good fun, especially if you go with friends. Would definitely recommend this gym!

He took no account of what we wanted, was chatting at length to other people while we were supposedly getting the tour, and was both painfully slow in responding to questions and very aggressive in his answers. The facility itself looked ok, but not for the price. They want a 12 month contract at £73 per person (that's their so called Corporate rate, pure sales ploy since everyone is offered this). There is also a joining fee of £180 per person which they might bring down to £40. There is no family membership rate despite suposedly being family friendly. So all in if you join with your partner you're making almost £1,800 committment for the year. Honestly I don't think it commands that price. I didn't bother asking about the parking fees or what happens if you try to end the contract within 12 months.

Virtually everything needed a jolly good scrub with soap and water. I can tell my old gym was a part of a University and there equipment was about 7 years newer. The sales staff only care about their commission, once they got your money they don't care at all. the only good thing I can say is that I have met one very kind and knowledgeable trainer.
