This is a wonderful language school located in central Zaragoza! I loved it! I studied for 4 weeks…read morein May 2018. I wish I could have studied there longer!
The classes are very small (2-4 students/per class usually, but one day it was just me!) and the teachers are wonderful!
My teacher Christian was extremely helpful and kind. He offered assistance and would actually stay after to class to answer any question I had about life in Spain, like weekend excursions, or where to buy toiletries or a Mother's Day card. This is true about all of the staff!
The owner Hector is very friendly and engaging! He really goes the extra mile to make everyone feel welcome.
He is quick to answer emails too and made enrollment very easy! While looking up Spanish schools in Zaragoza, I found ALE Zaragoza with high reviews, so I wrote to him on a Thursday, wanting to begin class on Monday (this was a last minute work trip), and he answered my email and any questions I had immediately! This was awesome! I was worried it would be difficult to sign up so last minute, but I took a free online assessment at home for placement, and just met Hector before class on Monday to pay. There's a discount if you sign up for 4 weeks or more, which I received. Cool! Plus, it's so awesome that you can sign up for classes on a weekly basis! This was perfect because I was only in Zaragoza for a month, so I couldn't enroll in a long term course.
In addition to fantastic classes, the school organizes some outside activities as well, which is a great way to practice your Spanish in a less formal setting and socialize with other students from the school too.
Some activities have included movie nights, karaoke parties, vegetarian lunches, and upon a classmate's suggestion, my class even joined together one evening to dine at top rated restaurant for a 3-course set dinner one evening!
Hector is also very outdoorsy, and organizes hiking trips too, but unfortunately I wasn't able to attend any of those activities. Next time! :)
Plus, the school is affordable! There's many different options including intensive (which I took), which is 2 hours/day Monday through Friday, which was the perfect amount for me since I had to work while I was in Spain. They also offer one-on-one sessions and other courses to suit your needs and your expertise level.
Also, you don't need to purchase any class materials, which I thought was very cool. The class provides a binder for you to place all your class handouts in. Just bring a notebook and pen!
The class lessons were enjoyable too. We did a little bit of everything from reading, to writing, to presentations, to listening, to class discussions. Every class was fun and I improved my Spanish skills a lot in just one month. Plus, I became more confident to speak, which was something I was very nervous to do at the start (I hadn't studied Spanish formally in a classroom since high school - just Duolingo). Because the class sizes are so small, the teachers are able to adapt the classes to suit their students' needs and interests.
I honestly miss studying here! I miss the staff, the students, the fun get togethers, and learning! I highly recommend this school! You'll love it! The teachers here are great and they really care about their students.
