The Gallery and Museum is located in the centre of Nuneaton, in a rather nice park called the Riversley Park.
Because this is George Elliot country there is a whole section of the museum dedicated to her and her works. There is a collection of personal items on display. This section of the museum is not very big, and to be fair, did not interest me that much
The museum generally hosts temporary exhibitions, with very wide ranging themes. The current exhibition is the Wildlife Photographer of the Year. I have in the past visited local artists exhibitions, as you can imagine styles were varied, but generally of good quality, a few pieces were absolutely beautiful.
The gallery is accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs, you can stop in at the cafe or at the souvenir shop if you want, but the best next option is to go round the park there are lots of benches and it is very well kept. There are some parking places not too far (pay and display).
Another point to note: the town's registry office is in the same building so you might encounter a few new couples when you come to visit. Always nice to see! read more
