We had a very good and fresh salad there for lunch. Our sons had gnocchi that looked awesome.

Osteria del Bugiardo was located in a good area so we made our way over to this wine bar. Service (2.5/5): Confusing system. There was a wait for a table but no hostess outside. We eventually talked to someone and she said that while there's no list, she will remember our faces and let us know when a table is ready. Not the most efficient system but we waited about 10 minutes to be seated at the bar. Our waiter took care of us pretty well after we got in. Ambiance (3.5/5): Your typical wine bar. Nice ambiance. The only downside for me is that seating at the bar consisted of bar stools. Without back support. Which I have always hated and which hurts my back. It's also pretty tight in there when they're at capacity. Drinks (4/5): Since this is a wine bar, you know what to order. We had glasses of rose. Not the heaviest pour but the price was solid. If you're not looking for wine, they also have things like Aperol Spritz. Food (4/5): You won't find hearty fare here but you will be able to munch on a lot of small plates. I'm talking things like mini sandwiches, croquettes, meatballs, salads, etc. Which is exactly what we did. We shared a couple of tapas between the two of us. It was filling and did the job. I wasn't stuffed but it was good and on the healthier side. Overall: Osteria del Bugiardo is one of the most popular restaurants on Yelp in Verona and it's located in the heart of the city.

Thoughtful wine pairings, fair pricing, and a romantic atmosphere make it well worth the detour. Overview: Osteria Le Servite is a peaceful retreat tucked into the vineyards of San Giorgio di Arco, near Lake Garda. Housed in a 19th-century building once owned by Servite nuns, the space balances rustic charm with understated elegance. Inside, you'll find a cozy fireplace room, a piano bar lounge, and outdoor seating that overlooks rows of grapevines. It is a dreamy backdrop for a long, relaxed meal. The atmosphere is serene, romantic, and effortlessly welcoming. Food: We opted for the tasting menus along with some à la carte ordering as a small group, which gave us the chance to explore most of what the kitchen had to offer. Here are my thoughts on each dish: - Amuse Bouche: This was a small portion of tomato sauce with a touch of pesto that was nicely balanced but ultimately one dimensional. - Bread Service: The bread was soft and flavorful, with a great crust to crumb ratio. It was served at room temperature without olive oil or butter, but was still enjoyable on its own. - Beef Tartare: This was one of the early highlights of the meal. The beef was tender, clean, and well seasoned. The marinated yolk added richness, and the brioche was pillowy and slightly sweet, making for a thoughtful and satisfying pairing. - "Bigoi" Pasta with Sardines: The pasta was slightly past al dente, and the sauce leaned toward watery, which occasionally caused it to slide off the noodles. Despite that, the flavor was strong and savory, with a briny depth and a gentle funk from the sardines. The dish would have benefited from more intentional plating. - Tagliatelle with Braised Beef: This was a hearty and comforting plate. The beef was fall apart tender, and the saffron sauce added a mellow creaminess that coated the pasta nicely. While not overly complex, the dish was cohesive and very satisfying. - Gnocchi: The gnocchi were beautifully made, melt in your mouth soft and delicate. However, the inclusion of chunky peas and beans disrupted that softness, and the sauce, while fresh, lacked flavor depth. In this case, the texture contrast worked against the success of the dish. - Risotto: The risotto was technically well made, with a nice bite to the rice. Its bold flavor profile was somewhat polarizing, with strong notes from the aged cheese and speck powder clashing slightly with the sweetness of the yellow pepper. It was a smart and well executed dish, even if not entirely to my taste at first, though it did grow on me over time. - Whitefish with Yellow Curry: This was a creative and memorable dish. The whitefish was incredibly tender and did a great job absorbing the aromatic curry flavors. The curry itself was flavorful but extremely thin, more of a broth than a sauce. It was a bold and unexpected pairing that worked well overall. - Pork Pluma: This was easily the standout dish of the night. The pork was exceptionally tender and juicy, cooked to perfection. The sweet potato cream added a smooth sweetness, and the apricot jus brought just the right amount of acidity to balance the richness. It could have used a touch more salt, but was otherwise excellent. - Salmon: This was a solid and well executed dish. The salmon was well seasoned with crisp skin and flaky texture. The pea purée was smooth and subtly sweet. The fennel salad provided a bit of crunch, though it did not contribute much beyond texture. - Tiramisu: This was a well executed version of the classic dessert. The mascarpone was light and the ladyfingers were nicely soaked. All the essential components were there, but the dish did not offer anything particularly new or exciting. It was a competent and satisfying finish to the meal. Final Thoughts: Dining at Osteria Le Servite is more than just a meal; it's an experience. With its vineyard views, slow pace (our meal lasted nearly three hours), and well-curated local wine pairings, it's the kind of place where you linger and savor. The food ranges from good to excellent, with a few creative flourishes and a few dishes that fell short. Prices are surprisingly fair for the quality and setting: starters under €20, mains between €25-30, and a few tasting menu options if you want the full journey. If you're visiting the Trentino or Lake Garda area and looking for a tranquil, refined evening away from the tourist buzz, Osteria Le Servite is worth the detour.

But ask a local person where to find Naneti's, and they will know, for this is Treviso's most famous Osteria. Here local delicacies abound on the shelves and counter. You can savour local wines along with the traditional local cicheti snacks, featuring bologna ham, fresh country sausage and ossocollo and selections of cold cuts and cheeses served on wooden cutting boards. Beppe and Fabio, the joint owners, immediately make everyone feel at home. They'll hand you morsels to taste and try if you're not sure what you want. The decor is hard to describe. No-one seems to know how old is Naneti's, but it houses some weird and wonderful food- and wine-related implements, a collection of ancient bottles, and the walls are pinned with newspaper cuttings and notices dating back to the 19th Century. The wines are arranged within reach around the walls. Just pick one and hand it over the counter to be opened. There's no seating - everyone just stands and talks - and the crowds overflow into the alleyway outside. You cannot fail to make friends here - I met Max, my closest Italian pal, here over a glass or two of Cabernet Franc. Customers drop in after work to buy produce and wine that will be their evening supper. They usually linger for a chat with friends. Go there!
