Service - we were greeted with a mini bevvies & someone even came with a wheelbarrow to bring our luggage to our rooms. everyone in the wellness center was extremely friendly and helpful. we had a few instances at the restaurants where people did not come over to seat us or take our orders and we had to flag someone down. not sure if that was because we went during off season. overall - very friendly & helpful. ambiance - the check-in area is outdoors with a cute lounge area. you walk down a sandy path towards the bungalows/units. you def feel like you are in the jungle with all of the plants & creatures (geckos, birds, iguanas, bugs). the different restaurants have different vibes. rooms - we opted for the bungalow **NOT THE SAME AS A STANDARD ROOM* which was basically a tent w/ an outdoor bathroom. meaning yes - you are going to be shitting & showering with the creatures. and everyone will be able to hear you! i thought it was going to be cute, but i got over that very fast & wished we got gotten either a standard room or upgraded to a bathroom that was indoors. it was kind of cool to shower next to a palm tree, but not so cool to have to pee with the possibility of a gecko falling onto your head. we did have AC though which was essential! activities - * cacao ceremony: beautiful ceremony. made me think of chocolate in a different way. held on-site and in the yoga shala. * yoga (2 different sessions): we tried to do the off-site yoga and we did not sign up early enough so we got turned away! so we did yoga on-site (again at the yoga shala). exercise has not been a focus of mine so it was TOUGH! but there were different levels and classes available. i appreciated both even if i struggled. *ice bath (private): i loved this. we did breath work beforehand. then we each got into the bath for 3 mins. our instructor was great. also held at the yoga shala on-site. food - 2 restaurants on-site. macondo was only open the first night we were there. which i was very sad about because they had the best hummus & pita. they also had a DJ so the place was insanely packed. very chill atmosphere with the couches. the other resto option was la popular which was on the beach. we had most of our meals here which was nice to be ON THE BEACH. but beware of creatures - birds stealing food & shitting on you. & iguanas crawling under the tables. ceviche from here was *chefs kiss* who would have thought grapes and shrimp went well together. !! TIP !! Bring bug spray or some bug repellant. we got eaten up. by the end of the trip i prob had over 50 bug bites all over. very very rough! read more

We needed a quick escape and decided to come to Tulum for a few days. We saw a few YouTube videos on Nomade and thought it looked beautiful so decided to stay here. First, let me just say that taxis and parking in tulum are insane. Despite this being a high end resort there is no shuttle for guests and no parking. So you're beholden to leveraging their bikes which you can rent for free between 12-5 daily or the ridiculous taxis waiting outside the entrance. If you do choose to rent a car, parking is street only and this seems ridiculous for a resort. I will note on their website they say they have parking but when we reached out directly to the hotel to inquire about parking (because we were considering renting a car) they explicitly told us it was street parking only. Ok, since we are on the negatives I'll continue by noting that check in isn't until 4pm daily so an early arrival means you can hang out in the public areas but just be aware of that when you dress for an early arrival. The other negatives, our beach access suite (the second most expensive room/suite available) did have its own pool and outdoor seating area but this area only got early morning sun. This made the area not very enjoyable to use for the majority of the day because it was fully enclosed/shaded and the "lounge area" was a couch so not ideal for lounging. Additionally, we saw a few crawly uninvited guests in our room. Ants in our toilet room and then a rather large cockroach on our sink/vanity area. With the indoor/outdoor nature vibe of this resort these guests I'm sure are a common nuisance but definitely not what you'd expect for $1000/night. The area of the resort is very intricate and maze like and while this weaving of the jungle/beach is a vibe it for sure it is not accessible to anyone with mobility issues. One of the main dining areas also offered primarily low/backless seating so again, not the best for comfort or accessibility. We also had power outages our last night - this definitely made the room pretty humid and difficult to sleep in (but the storm was great to listen to and watch). For a place like this and a per night rate as high as they charge, they should have dependable generators. Also, not necessarily a negative but important to note, there are no TVs in any of the rooms, so bring a few great books and indulge in the activities and conversations with your fellow guests. The resort does have great beach accessibility with plenty of loungers for guests. But the area also had a LOT of people walking around during the day selling various items. This definitely made it feel less like a private beach and more just like a public one which was again, disappointing. The last negative I will give for this place is we did meet up with friends who live in Tulum and who came over to join us for a lounge-y day and despite again, having one of the most expensive per night suites they did try to charge us for their "day passes". Thankfully, they said they'd make an exception which honestly, shouldn't even be a discussion given the room cost and the fact that we ordered food and drink throughout the day and had it charged to the room. So now for some highlights - as the YouTube and instareel highlights will showcase the resort itself is very "vibey". The suite we stayed in was nicely appointed and did have lots of big spacious windows providing great sea views and sounds. The bed was very comfy and big - plus the room came with a separate large seating lounge area. The pool and water feature was beautiful but again because it was shaded for the majority of the day the water remained pretty crisp. Another positive is there are daily activities you can sign up for and experience - including various yoga, sound bathing, and a really cool bonfire and stargazing. The main eating area also had live DJs and music on the nights we stayed and that was great to have available. The food was really tasty albeit very tourist priced. We enjoyed snacks on the beach (the tuna tartar and guacamole were both super fresh and delicious) and dinner at Mercado the first night (taboule salad and a great Mediterranean take on a taco). Both of these dishes were tasty and big enough to share. Our booking did include a daily breakfast but ordering more than one coffee resulted in a charge and that seems pretty petty when the cost per night is over $1000usd. It's also important to note that if you have an early check out, and pay for the breakfast, your option on your departure date is a sad boxed "lunch". This again, is wildly unacceptable for the cost. Guests leaving early should be able to place a breakfast order to go the night before their departure and not just be given a sad, tasteless boxed option. All in all, it was a great getaway for us because we were able to switch off but we'd not recommend this as a place that's worth its nightly rate. If we come back to Tulum we will for sure look for different accommodations. read more

The pros - stunning location and easy access to the beach from most rooms - can basically walk around the property barefoot - onsite sushi omakase is absolutely outstanding - the beach, and property, even the restaurants have incredibly soft white sand throughout - included day beds The cons - management pretty unhelpful - for instance when we checked in there was a leak and it took multiple attempts of telling them to get a maintenance guy over. Then the maintenance guy left a mess and told me to contact reception to get a cleaner- then reception again did not send one until the third ask. - a/c was barely functional in our room which was honestly annoying with the heat - restaurant staff is pretty disinterested - so difficult to find your room in the property or get back to reception the first couple of times - little signage - day beds on the beach are pretty gross and don't smell great - seems like they're seldom washed (if ever!) - housekeeping lacks attention to detail - no new towels one night for instance... shower soaps were near empty when we got there... - multiple power outages and water outages through the day - unannounced - a couple of gnarly insects in my room All in all - solid spot with some highlights but you can always come to enjoy the sand and restaurants separate from the hotel, which is what I'd recommend. I really wanted to love Nomade. It's a beautiful place with a mostly great staff. We stayed this past week in one of the tree house rooms which was so nice. The beach was great. Sugar sand. It was the season of the sea weed but in no way affected us or this review. The wait staff for La Popular beach restaurant were great. Very attentive. Great food and drinks. The breakfast at Macondo was really good every day. So delicious and filling. Our waiters during breakfast were so good. Especially "the brothers". We came here because Nomade touts itself as a relaxing zen vibe kinda place. Looking for a relaxing retreat to do some self care. I had a couple of things that almost ruined our whole trip. They have a "party" night which I was not aware of. I love to party. I'm not dead. It was just the loud rave music pounded into our brains until 1 am. Also during this party we tried to join for some drinks since we couldn't sleep. Not very crowded as I think it's not the high season here. We were completely ignored. I'm not sure what we did wrong. We eventually just left and walked across the street to Wild restaurant and ended up spending the next two nights there for food and drinks instead. We never tried the other restaurants for dinner just due to the poor treatment at Macondo party night. We also had a bathroom door that we couldn't get them to fix for us. Sounds silly but without a bathroom door in the treehouse you're open for every bug and crazy heat. Luckily it was our last night. Again it just felt like they didn't really care enough to respond. We stayed at the nomade during a rainy week! Our room had rain coming from the ceiling , windows and doors, you could not go to the bathroom without being rained on! We had to move our suitcases off the floor . It was terrible so much water in our room. When we asked to be moved they offered no solution. We asked for a refund and they refused! We moved out to another hotel after only one evening because we were receiving so much rain! I stayed at Nomade, and loved everything about it, but this review is for Kuu - the sushi restaurant within Nomade. It was easily the best meal I had in Tulum (and I dined at a Michelin star restaurant while there); possibly the best meal of my life. We dined with chef Diego - he was very attentive and his hands worked magic. My only regret is that I didn't go back a second time. The service since the second we arrive has been horrific. Any issue we have had has been ignored or not dealt with in the right way. To start- we paid extra for our room to have a pool but it was dangerously green and filled with so much bacteria that the maintenance told me they had to "deep clean" the pool. Maid service was sent to our room but left towels on the floor and took out our room service to be outside of our room and not even away to the kitchen. We then had a snake come up to our room which is my biggest fear, and the hotel was not understanding enough to allow me to be refunded and leave a night early due to panic attacks. Toxic and dangerous! Beware! The good: Nomade is the perfect example of the unique and very hip Tulum style. The grounds are beautiful. The restaurants are decorated perfectly with a rustic boho vibe. The food is absolutely marvelous at both Machado and La Popular 9/10 for sure. Food and drink prices are ridiculous as is everywhere in Tulum. Super overpriced but also really great consistent food. Service at the restaurants is an 8/10 but the rest of the resort is a 6/10 compared to other high end luxury resorts. The beach and water is one of the most pristine and gorgeous I've seen. Powdered sugar white sand, turquoise aqua waters that are warm and shallow for a long ways out. The bad: we had the ocean front suit, #105. We immediately noticed a very strong foreign smell all throughout the room. It smelled a bit like moth balls. After a day I realized they had used old railroad ties for the front door and the bathroom counter and other elements in the suite. Railroad ties are soaked in creosote which is a toxin and known carcinogen and should NEVER be used indoors for construction. Then we started a strong sewer smell. It was coming from the drain in the shower. So half the time it smelled like a cesspool and the other half like a toxic factory. We had to keep all the doors to the outside open the entire time. Besides the smells the finishes in the room were super super rustic. Uneven floor boards with sharp edges and a huge splinter sticking out ready to slice your foot open. The patio has a tiny uncomfortable couch that couldn't lay on. The side table with the fridge inside was about to fall apart and the door wouldn't close. The large sliding glass door that opens to the ocean view was stuck and was almost impossible to open. The patio is off the side of the room and not in front to take in the amazing ocean views. They had let the plant grow way too big on the end of the patio so it completely covered the ocean view. You felt very closed in on the patio. The plunge pool was super cold, murky, and uninviting. They had these cheap looking over sized black rollers above all the glass doors and windows for rains. They looked so cheap and awful it took away from whatever aesthetic they were going for. None of the lights in the room had dimmers, the bed and pillows were a 5/10 for comfort. The over all comfort and decorations and vibe of the room were more or less low quality and uninspiring. I called the manager about 5 times to come to the room so I can show him person the issues we had. He finally showed up and agreed with everything and said he would "do something for us" We had the second to the most expensive room and then favorite room of most of the staff we spoke too. I paid average of $1250 per night! So when I went to check out I asked what they "did for us" to compensate for the room filled with toxic carcinogenic material and the lady looked at me blankly. A different manager was there and I again voiced my concerns to him. He started fiddling with the computer and said the best he could do was take 20% off the food bill we racked up that was over the initial $600 deposit. I kept pressing him and explaining our horrible experience in the room and in the end "all he could do" was give me a $133 discount off my entire stay which was north of $7,000 USD total!!!! I was shocked. I will never be back to Nomade or their sister property next door, Be Tulum. Please beware and check any resort before you book to see if they use railroad ties inside the rooms. It was a horrible experience and I'm just floored that after all my complaints they barely gave a crap and did nothing to help us feel better about the situation. read more

Definitely a spot to eat when in Tulum!!! Ambiance: it's very laid back and relaxing. The area is an open space and you sit on bean bags. The music is semi-loud. They usually walk around with a smoke to smoke out the insect because it is in the jungle. Food: DELICIOUS!!!! So fresh and savory!! I especially love the salmon it was grilled to prefect in and the taste was in point!!! The grilled squid was very fresh also, just wished it was burnt a little more. The fish tacos were delicious especially the flour that it came with, very fresh and tasty. The drinks isn't too bad. Service: Service was amazing!! People are very friendly and there outfit is so down to earth like the natives that use to live here long long ago. read more

This review is about Macando, the Moroccan restaurant in Nomadé. Disappointment!! The evening started great as we walked in. the hostess was friendly and we were seated promptly. We ordered drinks which were decent but nothing to write home about. The appetizers were also fine- Falafel and Hummus with Pita bread. The big disappointment was the Chicken Tagine. No couscous, no rice and the dish was very briny and sour. Called the server to see if we could get some rice or couscous with it but got no answer. Asked the manager who told us 15 minutes later that the kitchen was unable to do anything to fix the dish. We asked for it to be sent back and the manager disappeared for another 10 minutes and then came back to ask what we would like instead. We opted for the chicken kabobs which were presented well but lacked flavor. As soon as the kabobs came to the table the waiter asked for us to close out our check!! No reason given. Total lack of service. We expected way better but we're thoroughly disappointed. Ambience was great hence the 2 stars. This place has potential but needs to get its act together. read more

Big heart, eager to please, not so eco-friendly. La Popular beachside eatery is lovely, as is the adjoining beachfront lounge bed area, and the pool. Nice mellow music. Food is pretty good, but inconsistentl. I expected more "yoga" food - at least they do have one Kombucha choice. Service throughout the resort is attentive and very friendly. The concierge is always extremely responsive on What's App. Eco-resort claim is questionable. Thankfully they do not use plastic water bottles. But they do encourage the use of loads of paper napkins, plastic wrap, ice, and MOUNTAINS of towels (absolute no way to re-use your towels unless you hide them from housekeeping). Food - certainly no way to know if they are sourcing sustainably, but with the volume, it's unlikely. And loads of fruit, bread and spreads are wasted every morning at breakfast. The programs are a highlight - don't miss Lola's Kundalini, Audeo yoga, Bibi's energetic sex class, Sabine's breathwork, Matt's full body fitness. The concierge will give you a description for each class if you ask. The yoga shala is in the jungle - very beautiful spot but no view of the ocean. The Tezmacal was almost 3 hours and a bit of a suffer fest - make sure you ask a lot of questions before you commit. Breakfast - we really liked the yogurt/fruit/açaí bowls, but the egg dishes were just OK. The greens, capers, avocado and other sides were good, but the actual eggs just weren't very good eggs. It was nice that they have a gluten-free pancakes option. I was pretty disappointed in the fruit - none of it seemed very ripe or sweet. It didn't really seem any better than the fruit that we get back in the United States. We were expecting a bit of luxury, but we're disappointed at how rustic the Arena suite was. Although it does have a super stable bed (wink wink) and is a great location. Very close to the beach, although no direct view of the beach. Because of the dense foliage, not many of the rooms actually seem to have a view of the ocean, which is fine because you really just want to be down at the beach side most of the time anyway. Hot water was fickle. They have 100 rooms at the property, and none of the rooms are actually labeled, so it's hard to know if they actually even put you in your room category or not. Only 16 spots for each yoga class, so sometimes people would get turned away if they didn't arrive early enough. Maybe about 14 bikes for the property, which was always enough when we were there, but I think it was still low season. It's reccomended to bring a headlamp because our room was very dark and the power went out a few times. They have some mini-fridges, but not enough for every room. We really appreciated having one for leftovers (bring your own Tupperware!) Favorite nearby restaurants: Wild, Real Coconut and Chiringuito. There is a good spot to launch kites just south of Nomade. Also a popular spot to launch about a 5 minute walk to the north. There was only enough wind for Kiting 3 days for the middle 21 days in November. Still raining a fair amount. The road to Tulum is horrendous and it takes 30-60 minutes or more to get to Tulum for cenotes/ruins/etc. read more

My friend and I were interested in checking out Nomade for lunch on the beach with our toes in the sand. The property was located close to where we were staying, so we walked up from the beach and asked for a table in the shade. The menu is pretty extensive and has a lot of fresh and healthy options. I wanted fish tacos but the tuna tartare sounded really appealing as well, so I got both. When the tartare arrived with a basket of pita, I asked if I could swap out with tortilla chips which was not a problem. My friend ordered the shrimp tacos and a handful of the veggie options, which come in full or half-sized portions. We both opted for fresh juices over cocktails, which was a nice, refreshing alternative. All of the food was delicious and my friend was able to get her leftover veggies wrapped up to go. As you can see from my photo, everything was plated beautifully and I would say this was one of my favorite meals of the trip. Also, the ambiance is chill and there are some great photo opps. I do not understand how anyone can write a bad review on this hotel. It's absolutely beautiful, clean and their staff is attentive and so kind. I booked a king room and was upgraded to a suite for no extra cost and it was immaculate. They cleaned it every day and replenished our water. It's definitely a jungle, eco friendly vibe, not a deluxe chain resort....But so is Tulum! I absolutely loved how the hotel strip is basically all open air huts unlike Cancun and Mazatlan. My service at the beach club was over the top. Pedro and Jose served me all week during the day and both of them were so attentive and friendly. Their food and drinks were delicious and healthy! My favorites were the fish tacos, the hibiscus punch and the cucumber cocktail. The complimentary breakfast was enough food for the whole day and delicious (I'm not a morning person so only had it once but I was thoroughly impressed). It is seaweed season right now so if that bothers you, wait! I didn't mind, I went into their pool to cool off when I was hot and it was never crowded. Concierge was extremely helpful and friendly. I did not do yoga but they have lots of classes. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for a chill, non-spring breaky vibe and also not a retiree vibe. My man organized a secret proposal on Friday at the beach here... the servers were all excited and happy to help organize anything he needed to keep it all under wraps. I was so surprised. I visited this restaurant on my first night in Tulum. I thought it would be a good introduction to the area since it is at a hotel, so I knew the staff would speak English, so I would get a slow introduction into practicing my basic Spanish with locals. It took a long time to get here. We stayed in the city center, and the taxi ride was about a half hour. I'm not sure if it was worth it, to be honest. I must say, I love the decor and the ambiance. I think this place would be 3 stars, if only based on food and service. Food: There were 4 of us and after a long travel day, we were quiet hungry. Some ordered the burger, and maybe because it was the gluten free bun, it just wasn't good. It tasted okay, but the bun crumbled so much it was nearly impossible to eat it like a burger. Another ordered a fish dish with a salad, which was a really such a small portion, and with it being a cold dish, the flavors of it didn't stand out much. I ordered the lamb, which I must say was great. It was cooked medium rare, which I liked, but it was hard to cut in the beautiful bowl/tajine that it was presented in. The vegetables and polenta that it was served with were incredible! The vegetables were my favorite part, for sure. It was one of the higher priced items on the menu. Beverages: We ordered cocktails and while they were delicious and refreshing, they didn't seem to have much alcohol in them at all. Service: We waited a long time to be sat. And once we finally were seated, we waited a long time for the server to come. We ordered waters, and cocktails. We waited a long time for water, and then waited even longer for our cocktails. By the time our dinner came, we had been there an hour. I don't typically mind a long, leisurely dinner, but this was somewhat unexpected. We also came pretty late at night, around 8pm. So they weren't incredibly busy, and we were very hungry by the time our food got to our table. Ambiance: The decor is beautiful. Sitting on poufs may not be for everyone, so be warned. We were able to get comfortable. While there, a sitar player began performing and it was sooo wonderful. Been really busy at work and decided to book over Memorial Day weekend. I thought-- either we do Tulum now or never. I enjoyed my overall Tulum experience. It was a little "rough". Def not a luxury hotel, but it will do for Tulum. It felt like I was camping. I booked us the Treehouse. The only thing separating the toilet from the outside, was a curtain. The monkeys were playing on the rooftop while I tried to sleep. By the 2nd day my husband wanted out. Lol so he did his best to move us into a different room. He upgraded us into the Fuego suite. The suite is awesome. I feel like if I had the Fuego suite from the get, I would've been a lot more happier. The suite is the only way to go if you're staying in Tulum. Otherwise it's like camping. Also-- the service wasn't there for me. It's lacked a lot for the price. During every meal service it was slow and also they would constantly forget things. Maybe it's a training issue? Bc everyone had this nonchalant "it's okay if I forgot" vibe. I don't they take service too seriously. Anyway. Cheers!! read more

We stayed in our delux tent with AC and enjoyed every second. Our restroom was outside and it was awesome. Showering under the whispering palms trees and majestic birds. This boutique hotel offers free breakfast which was amazing. From organic fruits .. everything is from farm to table. Freshhhhh! eggs, Vegan options for the hipsters too!! lol Nomade decor is a mix of moroccan / thailand / boho vibes! Every detail through out this hotel was thought out. From lighting romantic candles through out the hotel when sunsets. Foot wash with flowers to rinse off the sand in the entrance of your room. THE BEACH!! AHhhhh!! amazing! The worst experience I have ever had in any hotel!! They charge you at a 5 star hotel rate and provide a one star service. They held a $1000 on my card so I can charge food/beverages to my room and they failed to refund that. It has been over a week with multiple phone calls and I have not gotten anywhere. Professional and courteous, not overly nice. PRO TIPS ======== Inquire about their retreats, workshops and talks, run every week. We decided to stop there for dinner at the beach restaurant, while we was walking on the beach and they found us a nice table. Food was delicious and come very fast. Service was good! We tried a second time to come but... there is no parking for cars, and the second restaurant was closed. But the place is absolutely one of the best!!! read more

We stayed in an Arena Suite and really enjoyed it. Room was very comfortable. All the restaurants served great food and the scenery is amazing. Only downside we experienced and also observed: the level of service in every area does not match the prices charged. Front desk needs more training or hire someone who has experience operating at this level. Restaurants (all) need more oversight and responsiveness; ask for something three times, you're likely to get it once. read more

To begin upon entering this gorgeous place, there's an air conditioned gratitude tent in which you can spend time in daily. Next you can walking into their tranquil space that's got a bohemian vibe to relax, wait, eat, drink, or read in. Furthermore, walk to their picturesque beach front to dream your worries away. I hate that I have to give this place a bad review because there was so much I wanted to and actually really loved about it. The problem came down to rude front desk staff with extremely poor communication. For the price you are paying I really expect first class service and we experienced less than that. We expressed interest in the temazcal service and were repeatedly told that we would get in no problem to just call the morning of (we did at 8:30 and were told we were in). When we showed up we were told that they were full but we could setup a private one for $300 USD. I did notice all the people entering were obviously of Mexican nationality and all the people on the "waiting list" were unsurprisingly all American. It was the last day of the trip so if the front desk had at least communicated that we likely wouldn't get in I would have setup a private one elsewhere. Another night we asked for a glass of juice to be taken to our room since one of the people in our party is a diabetic and the girl at the front desk said she'd take care of it (wait for it) - no juice when we got back and we had a pretty bad low blood sugar scare. Pros: Very cool ambience, definitely a place to see and be seen. Live music and DJs were cool (just eat at the restaurant and stay somewhere else) Nice pool scene Great breakfast and solid food all around Most of staff was super helpful and accommodating Air conditioning as promised Cons: Front desk staff just doesn't understand the concept of customer service. Bathrooms outside - mosquitos rain and heat warning Expensive for what you get. There are a million cheaper and very comparable stays that I would recommend first. Did I mention the front desk staff? This is a review of Macondo, one of two restaurants . Realistically, you go here for the atmosphere. That alone is 5/5. You have a very cool Moroccan vibe and can even sit on pillows on the floor if you so choose, and we did. The food, at least for vegan options (which I always appreciate options) is about a 3.5/5. My favorite was the starter of hummus. But, of course, you have to buy more pita. There is a ton of hummus and you are only given 3 small pieces of bread. Now if there were veggies or something ok, but alas, we bought more pita. For entrees we had the falafel and the roasted cauliflower. Loved the food at La Popular, however service was pretty much non-existent. We ordered: - Guacamole: Fresh, chunky and tasty but nothing out of the ordinary. I believe the chips are already included when dining in, but I liked that the guacamole also came with radish, cucumber and carrot sticks. - Potato wedges: Perfectly crispy and seasoned. The sauce that came with the potato wedges were my favorite. Flank steak, fish and shrimp tacos: Only available from 12 - 5pm. So fresh and delicious. The shrimp tacos were my favorite out the three - the shrimp were juicy, tender and decently sized. The fish wasn't battered, but was still crispy. I appreciated the generous portions of meat in the tacos. - Chipotle pineapple margarita: Smoky and tangy. I wanted to try this drink to convince myself to like spicy margaritas, but sweet and savory combinations just aren't my thing. Nothing wrong with the drink, but just not my personal preference! - Cucumber caipiroska: Refreshing. I would have ordered a second glass of this, however I didn't want to spend more at a restaurant that never checked on us. I made my reservation about a month and a half in advance, though the restaurant wasn't full since it was a little windy and briefly drizzled. The hosts were friendly, however I don't understand why our server failed to check on us even once aside from taking our order when the restaurant was primarily empty. I came here for my birthday dinner, so that was disappointing. The ambiance is beautiful and you're seated right on the beach. We took a sunset walk on the beach after dinner - lots of cute photo ops at Nomade and further down the beach at Casa Malca. Loved the ambiance and food, but the lack of service was a complete turn off. read more

Visited Nomade for lunch and was quite impressed. The restaurant is on the beach and makes for a beautiful view no matter where you sit! My server was friendly, but slightly inattentive. From the menu, we ordered the octopus, tuna tartar, ceviche, and elotes. Everything was plated beautifully and tasted great! The ceviche and tuna tartar was very fresh and complimented their homemade chips perfectly. Octopus was cooked to perfection and the potatoes that were served with it were also tasty. I'm a sucker for elotes so I typically always order when I see it on the menu..upon first bite you could taste all the grilled butter goodness! I would come back again for the tasty food and beautiful views. Hopefully service can improve. read more

Nomade nails boho beach vibe. Stay in luxury tent-yurts right on the sand and enjoy one of my favorite complimentary breakfasts in a Moroccan inspired dining lounge. Actually, all of the food at both restaurants was exceptional. The ahi tacos and clams by the beach are a must, as is every single vegan item on the Mocando menu. Just past the sound garden (yes, you heard that right), you'll find a large tent with nightly special activities, from sound healing to aromatherapy sessions. And yoga is offered every morning on the beach. Also good to know that right next to Nomade is their slightly pricier sister property BE Tulum.
