Busy clean & modern train station with many tracks. Once we got into the main hall we found an ikea, food hall, banks, and many fast food stands. There were many doors & it was confusing to find the best way out. The high-speed ice trains in Germany are very clean and efficient. But they are not cheap. There aren't many cars on the road because the rail system and bicycles run well here. read more

Wikipedia says: Originally built as in the neo-Gothic style, it was rebuilt by Karl Zenger, in 1900 largely in the Neo-Baroque style. The most striking feature is the muschelkalk which characterises the exterior façade. The portals to the individual halls are richly decorated and primarily depict symbols of technological progress, for example a winged wheel above the portal in the Mittelhalle. The lounge, in which the present-day travel centre is located, was built in 1904/1905 by Bruno Paul in the Jugendstil. Sections of the walls are decorated with fine mosaics, the roof is ornamented with unobtrusive stucco. The Jugendstil lounge is one of the few areas of the station, which has survived the destruction of the Second World War. I say: It's a very convenient train station with trains and more connecting you to anywhere you wish to go. As one of the larger stations in Germany even the high-speed trains do stop here, as well as the more local trains. It conveniently connects directly with the subway, just take an escalator down. Across the street is a large station where you can catch a tram or bus. A little further down the road are the long distance bus station where you can catch busses to take you all across Europe. There is a large taxi stand out front of the main hall and cabs are always lined up ready to take you anywhere. There are of course ticket machines, but also a ticket office if you need help with trip planning or ticket purchases. There are plenty of restaurants and shops to hang out while you wait for your connections. A personal favorite of mine is the large bookstore. I shop there even if I am not travelling. read more

I really like the main station in Nürnberg. There are plenty of restaurants, if you want to eat while you're waiting, or just grab a coffee to go! It can be quite busy at times, but not as busy as other stations I've been to. There are self service machines to buy your own ticket for the trains or there is an office where someone can help you with your ticket purchase! read more

This is a nice, clean train station. It's very large and spacious too. Great security, spotless pay toilets and good food options. I love the bookstore here, it's a great place to pick up German language magazines (I love buying the European film magazines and cooking magazines, they make great souvenirs). It's located right across from the old town gates which makes it easy to walk and explore if you have a long rail layover. The platforms are easy to navigate and the trains usually run on time. This place is really a hustle and bustle type of station that's for sure. As you enter this station, it is extremely nicely appointed and the trains are nearly always on time but boy is this place crowded, especially during peak hours. The overall setup and restaurant selection is actually pretty good and the connections are equally as good. Overall, Nürnberg is a great place to visit and this particular station will get you connected virtually anywhere you need to go within Europe. read more

The gateway to Nuremberg... Each time I go into town I have to pass through here - whether I arrive by train or by car (best car park is next to the Nelson-Mandela-Platz), there is other way! It amazes me every single time - you could basically live here! And you would probably not even lack so many things...there are sanitary facilities, several coffee shops, bakeries, McDonald's, Dunkin' Donuts, a night club, a bar, a drug store, a florist, a book store, a few other restaurants and so much more! And while it won't win any awards for the indoor design, the building itself is a lovely old building that matches the appearance of the city. Bottom line: * There is nothing that you might need in a train station that you can't find here * Gigantic size * Lovely building (from the outside) read more

A great train station with iconic architecture in the main hall. The tracks are set up outside with roofs over each platform, rather than being in a large hall like the main train stations in Frankfurt or Berlin. The station also has a major bonus: the Lidl on the lower level is open late until 10pm and is also open on Sundays! It's a huge convenience when most things are closed up on Sundays. Only negative is that there are usually homeless people and beggars hanging around the station. read more

This is a pretty nice train station, near a castle! They have a lot underground and right at your fingertips when you walk off the train. This one is DEFINITELY different than the ones you may run across in the town surrounding it. You will DEFINITELY notice you are in a new place. They have bakeries, McDonald's, Burger King, bookstores, and clothing places all there. It is the coolest! read more
