Well, the latter was obviously a joke but I loved it nonetheless and the fact that this place is so close to my house. All the meat here is Irish and from some lovely green island off the coast of some county I already forgot. If you're not sure what you're after, they recommend you a cut based on your requirements. The meat is always good quality, if you ask them to vacuum pack it it'll last for 5 days and it's better value than supermarkets. As well as standard meats, they do a range of marinaded stuff, some ready meals and side dishes you just need to put in the oven. The best thing about the place is the fridge they mature their steaks in - an absolutely fantastic sight for a carnivore. I'd recommend a t-bone or a cote de boeuf.

The meat is prepared on premise and if you call ahead they can cut you any specific cut. We used to go there very regularly since the nearest shopping mall was just around the corner, so I was really disappointed when we moved to the South side. But they were really helpful and offered to deliver if we had a big order. The meat itself is just unreal. If you want the best steak ever, go and try their 21 days aged steak, You won't want anything else ever again... EVER. If they don't have any on display, just ask for it, they're always happy to cut something up for you, or have it in storage in the back of the shop. I also had ribs, whole chickens, pork shoulder, pork steaks and so on, and was never disappointed. Apart from the fresh meat you'll find some marinated products, but I've never tried those. Last but not least, they close fairly early on a Saturday and are closed on Sundays, so better make your way down early.

I came in a few weeks ago looking for chicken thighs and he directed me to another butcher across the street. One of his chickens fed a group of 6 last spring. And the single chicken breast he sold me today was very nice and tender. Oddly enough, I've never tried his non-chicken meats, but that's just chance. All in all, I have no complaints.
