After booking them to redo our front steps and walkway in May 2020 we finally had them complete the…read morejob in late March 2021. Apparently there were product delays. This was fine as we trusted Andrew and felt comfortable with the company. The job itself was pretty well done but the customer service and treatment of their customers leaves a lot to be desired. There was no review of the work done. I raised a couple of concerns and they were abruptly dismissed by the owner of the company with some unprofessional responses. Simply pay the balance of your bill. Then it turned into the fact that he felt he was doing us a favour by doing our job as it was a smaller job for this company and according to Andrew they only book jobs larger than $10,000. This would have been fine if he told us this from the start and we would have looked for another company but he was happy to book the job at the beginning of the pandemic and take our deposit. To this day I have not had anyone come to look at the work the crew completed and they have not addressed any of my concerns or questions. It seems like a small job like ours ( even thought it was a lot of money to us) isn't worth it for them and as a result they don't treat you well or with consideration. In the end the work was ok but they do not make you feel valued or take ownership of their work.

We contacted Andrew from Whitby Shores Landscaping in mid May to do a fairly sizable landscaping…read morejob for us. It involved a lot of labour of removing lots of stone from our backyard and side of the house and extending our driveway. He came by promptly to do measurements in order to provide us a quote. A week went by, still didn't hear from him and sent him a text to ask for a quote which he provided within a few hours. After some back and forth negotiations we agreed on a price. We provided him a deposit which secured us a date, he said at the beginning on July. Over the next month, we sent emails and text messages back and forth to pick out pavers for the job. When all was decided, he sent an invoice in which the price increased by around $1000. I asked him why and he mentioned that the pavers we picked were more. I went back to our original estimate and showed him this was not the case. It got all sorted out and I thought everything was fine. I asked Andrew to resend the invoice and asked for an actual date when he could start. I tried to email and i sent him a text message on two separate occasions. He never replied to me. Fed up, I asked my husband to call him and deal with it, even though Andrew had been dealing exclusively with me. My husband called him and got a confirmation that he would start July 13th. On July 11th, we were suppose to have a bin rental delivered to our house. My husband texted Andrew that morning to make sure he had the correct address. At 5pm Andrew replied back saying there was a death in his family and he wouldn't be able to start on Monday but would contact us in a few days. We waited almost a week and didn't hear from him so my husband sent him a text stating we had scheduled a BBQ for the following weekend and wanted to know if the backyard would be done. He replied back saying that he was taking a month off and shutting down his entire business. Obviously disappointed but we were sympathetic. Andrew said he would send us back our deposit. We found it a bit odd that he didn't try to reschedule us in a month. The following week, I checked Andrew ' s company's Facebook page and saw that he had posted new pictures of a job that he did. My husband called him and he seem to be caught off guard when my husband asked if he was still working. He denied it, but he didn't really seem to have the reaction someone would if you were being accused of something. We left it. A few weeks passed and we still did not receive our deposit back so my husband sent Andrew a text. It was at this point Andrew admitted that he had two crews working this whole time! I think what annoyed us is the fact he wasn't completely honest with us. If you say your whole company is shutting down then our understanding is that no one is working. We eventually found another company and they came to do the job two weeks later. We wish that we never had dealt with Andrew and wasted so much of the spring/summer months. Buyer beware!!! Get multiple quotes, there are a lot of competively priced landscaping companies in the GTA.
