He didn't charge for the advice. I would definitely patron this place for honest advice and personal service. When the (not needed) protective cover came off, everything was great with my camera. He spent a good bit of time trying to get my laptop to boot up and eventually removed the hard drive and battery to take them to his home workshop so he could retrieve my info and put it on my thumb drive. He rang me in the evening to say that sadly the hard drive was corrupt and couldn't be accessed. The battery had begun to bow upward, so it was a goner too. In his opinion the 7 year old machine wasn't worth fixing because at that age things would just keep going wrong. Kinda like a used car. In the end he didn't charge me a penny because he wasn't able to fix my machine! How often does that happen?!! So if you have a PC that is giving you trouble and you want someone to come to you, definitely give Ken a call. You won't regret it.

What I take issue with was the store managers aggressive tactic to have these kids open BEST BUY store credit cards, bribing them with the change to buy additional card sets if they opened a card and charged their purchase. This was a tacky jerk move aimed to take advantage of naive young people. Very disappointed with this approach!
