    Latke Hot Chicken
    Jack R.

Wow. The best latke I've ever had. Truly a must try. Small breakfast spot and there was a constant line out the door so get there early. Staff is super attentive and kind, all while managing a lot of people in the small space. The hot chicken was tasty but not as spicy as excepted. Chicken was juicy and the biscuit was perfectly cooked. Not dry at all!

OMG! I loved this place so hard! Thier biscuits are absolutely perfect! I had a bacon, egg & cheese and my partner had it with sausage and a latke to shair. Everything was delicious. Since we went they closed and have redone their menu to include dinner and hopefully they will be bringing their breakfast back because I was only able to make it there once before they closed and need another one of their biscuits in my life, lol.

Great breakfast/brunch place in the Dormont area! Their biscuits do not disappoint and the beet side is really good too, highly recommend. The cured salmon dish comes with the latke and some apple cold slaw. They taste really good, savory and flavorful. if I'm being really picky - maybe the amount of salmon is quite small, but I'm okay with it! The place is smaller than I imagined, and busier than I thought for a weekday - maybe it's just the holiday week. Coffee is De Fer and Reginald's, both of great quality! Overall highly recommend for a quick breakfast/brunch for solo eating or small group gathering.

Always a big fan of OH since they first opened a few years ago. Use to love some of the sandwiches and the breakfast. Nice to see them move on and use their wonderful skills on a wonderful dining experience. The lights are low and a same light on each table. Only 7 tables, I think, so get a reservation. Or you can try to walk in and maybe able to get a set at the coffee bar. Service was really good. The two waiters both served us and they seemed to communicate really well and did not miss a beat. There are 4 starters and 4 mains, some teas, coffee and 4 hand-crafted mocktails. Or you can BYOB for $10. Seemed to be about half and half when we were there. We started with the Beets which had some marinated olives, walnuts, orange and gribiche. A wonderfully tasty start to our meal. We shared the mains of Ribs and Lamb Chops. The ribs had some very nice undertone of heat from the gochujang rub and were very soft and a big hit. The Lamb Chops were cooked perfectly and were good but not quit as tender as I would expect. The Lamb chops came with some mint chutney and a tasty jelly and Brussel sprouts.

Service is impeccable, the little details like staff handing out menus to customers waiting in line to order and repeating your order back to you makes things efficient and accurate. For take out orders on weekends, calling ahead is recommended. I've had both breakfast and lunch dishes, today's take out order was a traditional biscuit and gravy. The biscuit was fluffy and fresh while the sausage gravy had the perfect flavors. With a winning combination of fabulous service and food, you can't go wrong at Oak Hill Post.

After an hour-ish wait, my friends and I had a very tasty breakfast on a Sunday morning at Oak Hill Post! The restaurant is quite small, and the line seemed almost interminable. Seating is done after you order at the counter, and take out orders take even longer when done in the restaurant. The line snaked through the restaurant, making the waiting experience unpleasant for the people eating and the people waiting--not to mention the people serving who had to continuously cut through the line. Once our food was ready, we were very happy! We loved the delectable mashed browns, the savory pulled pork toast, and the great sausage gravy on what could have been a slightly softer biscuit. The drinks were delicious too! Next time I come here, I'll probably wait until a less peak hour. But I would certainly come back!

Finally stopped here for breakfast after hearing positive things from several people. The hype was definitely not misplaced, this breakfast/lunch establishment is a true gem. I ordered the breakfast smash which is basically a breakfast burger on a fresh biscuit. It was so tasty and it might now be my favorite breakfast sandwich in Pittsburgh. I ordered to go, and the food was just being finished when I walked in at the scheduled time. I appreciate the accuracy of the pickup time estimate so I wasn't time waiting for them to finish and the food was getting cold waiting for me to pick it up. Kudos to the crew here for getting that spot on. The staff were all super friendly and I'm sure it would be a good experience eating in as well. The atmosphere is chic and modern, perfectly complementing the menu. Most of the table were full on a weekend morning when I stopped in and people were having fun and enjoying their food. Good vibes overall.

I was raised in Brookline and never tried this amazing place even though I see it all the time when I'm driving down Brookline Boulevard. I'm mad at myself for never stopping before this. We went because they had East End Brewing launching their Brookline neighborhood IPA. There was a little bit of a line, which we didn't mind. The food, the atmosphere and brunch was fantastic. The flavors of the food were delicious and the French press coffee was great.

This place is the bomb! Every item on the menu is so thoughtfully curated and delicious. Don't expect to get seated when you walk in, you definitely need to order at the counter and then they place you at a table. You can't save tables ahead of ordering so expect to wait in line for a while during busy times. The staff is super friendly, they intervened when someone came in the restaurant and tried to grab our table as we were up next and ordering food. I had the traditional southern breakfast. I'm from the south, and the biscuit and gravy was nearly the best I've ever had. The space is small, so go early to grab a good spot.

You can really tell that they put their heart and soul into supper. Every dish was so flavorful, tasty, and interesting. The ambiance is romantic and warm, a great place for a date night or somewhere to catch up with old friends. We will be back!

I am in love with this charming neighborhood lunchette with elevated favors. I told my brunch crew this would be my model if I ever open a brunch place of my own. The attention to every detail in addition to the food is impressive to this discerning eye. From the ordering and seating process, to elegance in the simplicity of the small menu justifies the cost. They requested everyone in our party be present before ordering. Then the member of staff taking orders was enchantingly descriptive of all the items they create in-house making choosing what to order a wonderful challenge to face. As they don't take reservations, we lucked out with our timing being just right to be able to take our time ordering with no one waiting behind us in line and be seated right after. The staff checked on us many times during our meal. If I lived closer to Brookline, I would eat here all the time!

Can't get enough of this place! The food is always excellent. I tried the classic biscuit sandwich with sausage and it exceeded my expectations. The biscuits are so dang good and the sausage is delicious. There's always a line so come early! Luckily the wait was about 30 mins when we arrived around 11:30am and ate our meal in 20 minutes. We were in and out within the hour!

    Jennifer B.

We've been meaning to try this place for forever and wow totally worth the wait! Everything was perfectly made. I wasn't expecting to love my pork belly sammy as much as I did. It I ate every single bit of it with no apologies- it was absolutely delicious! The bit of peanut butter sounded weird in the description but it was amazing and took it over the top. And their biscuits are no joke! Can't wait to try more

Normally I'd say this isn't a big deal: two entrees and an appetizers. It happens. But the list continued to grow throughout the night (read on intrepid Yelper!). She left to grab some waters and came back about 15 minutes later. And then dashed off again. Finally put our orders in (was told then they were also out of some sodas and another appetizer, again it happens... but to this degree?) and waited for our drinks and food. And waited and waited and waited. Got our drinks 45 minutes after we sat down; importantly the place was not busy. During that time we were revisited once to be told they were out of another entree that some people had ordered. So some orders had to change. Appetizers took a full hour to show up. Entrees took another 30 minutes. Asked for some condiments - "we don't have that." Look, I get it restaurants have days when people call in or don't show up. Restaurants run out of stuff. But this was excessive. We were rarely checked on even to be given an ongoing apology just to let us know "hey I know this sucks, I recognize it and I'm sorry." We ran out of water (they bring a big bottle and you're on your own to refill it, and once that ran out we were just out of luck). If the food or drinks were really exceptional then some of this gets washed away. Unfortunately the food was just standard bar fare. It wasn't special. It was epically "serviceable." I do not recommend going. You're going to be far better off just taking the trolley back down and going somewhere else.

Our cocktails were subdued but very tasty. First we were served a pea soup shooter--we all wanted a whole bowl. I got the special, seared tuna with a shrimp over udon noodles and a Hoisin sauce with some sort of wasabi. Again, the flavors were unique but not overpowering. The carrot cake got rave reviews from my dining partners (not my style). The Creme Brulle was very large and perfectly cooked. But the best dessert was the deconstructed Smore. The chocolate, the merengue, the graham crumbs, a little ice cream. Oh, I'm going to be dreaming of this dessert for a long time! We celebrated our 10yr anniversary here for dinner & it was definitely worth it. Unblemished ambiance & service. We were at the restaurant side- very chic & intimate. They have a casual tavern area along the bar on the other side. And an upstairs section. When you look up, there's an entire wall of huge wine selection. For cocktails we had the Cosmopolitan & Strawberry Smash-- both prepared great! Cosmos are usually a hit/miss situation for me; this was really good though- not too tart nor sweet-- very well balanced w/ a mild hint of vodka coming through, which after a few sips hits you in a nice, soft way. Husb said the Strawberry Smash was bangin!!-- the sibona amaro in it stabilized the fruitiness of the drink. For apps, we ordered the Calamari- it was soooo good & crispy/crunchy, I had to prevent myself from stuffing everything in my mouth! I was a bit sad I had to share this w/ my husb lol. It came with a hot & sour sauce w/ lemon which overall made the dish unique. For entree, I had the Scottish Salmon, came w/ scallops & I added crab cake to it. Succulent salmon was seared w/ great flavor, the sweet corn & pepper mixed in a tomato vinaigrette on the side under the scallops was just unbelievable. The crab cake was cut squared, hands down one of the best cakes. The flavor profile for the entire dish together in a bite was incomparable!! Definitely order this. Husb ordered the Gerber Farms Chicken, amish chicken served w/ risotto, greens on top of thyme jus (akin to a thin gravy). The chicken was cooked well-- juicy on the inside & a nice roast on the outside; the risotto wasnt heavy & didn't weigh the meal down, the thyme jus's flavor was subtle & it elevated the entire dish. For dessert, we got the Chocolate Hazelnut tart & Eleven Candy bar. I legit relished & inhaled the tart despite already being so full. Husb loved the Candy bar. A huge slice of brownie/caramel candy bar w/ chocolate mousse phew! The pics explain how mindblowin' everything was! A real one-of-a kind experience. Ron was great in explaining everything too. My experiences have not been high-end, perhaps more "tinfoil" than sapphire, to say the least....see below. That being said, it's proven to be a very middling experience each time, especially from a service standpoint. Each time has had mysterious delayed times to get waited upon, receive food and drinks, and every time has featured a mysterious disappearing item that we had to politely "remind" the server about after receiving the bill. On this occasion, we were offered to still receive a missing drink even though it was incredibly clear that we were ready to leave. One time, sure, but all three visits have had issues. This time, when the final bill was corrected, the math didn't seem to make sense - removing a $14 drink and the total came out $5 less. I'm being candid in saying instead of even dealing with the server once more, their tip corrected the discrepancy - no issues in dealing with the situation in that manner, given the sub-par service. Unacceptable and frustrating to have 3/3 times experiencing significant service issues. Food-wise, it's a solid "4" rating - salads have all been great, the dishes we'd recommend are the black cod and the short ribs. Good selection of semi-local beer and extensive wine list. It was noted that the menu had "changed" with the season, but the overall menu was 80% the same with some very subtle modifications - all over a two-year period. First time we went here, we sat at the tables above the bar area, and unfortunately there was a very bar-like smell that could be experienced throughout the meal (imagine having fine dining at the Rock Room on Polish Hill) - thankfully these other two times have been in the main dining area, on nights that haven't been very busy (adding to the frustration regarding the service notes above). Honestly, this is a legacy restaurant here in Pittsburgh, it's a shame that newer places with great food + service have a hard time launching in this environment.
