The Admissions Director, Melanie, is truly exceptional. She went above and beyond to support our family, showing incredible flexibility and genuine care throughout the process. Beyond the administration, the school itself is impressive. We fell in love with the beautiful, sprawling outdoor campus--it's such a rare and refreshing environment for kids to learn in. One of the most striking things we noticed was how confident and articulate the students are; their comfort with public speaking is clearly a testament to the school's curriculum. We also spent a lot of time admiring the Maker Lab, which is easily one of the best we've seen. While our family's personal circumstances shifted and we couldn't enroll this year, Woodland remains at the top of our list for any family looking for a balanced, high-achieving, and supportive environment

Absolutely terrible terrible school. If I could give it 0 I would. The years I spent here were the…read moreworst in my entire life. None of the teachers want to be here they are all underpaid and regularly complain about their salary. While I was there I would consistently hear teachers say "I can't answer that that's above my pay grade" or joke about how they can't afford to pay for anything. Many of them were just bullies and put no effort into teaching us. The teachers also have no control over the students with classes being so hectic that lesson plans would get put on pause. If you are a smart student you won't be challenged here, if your a student with learning disabilities you will get NO support. The campus is laughably small and unclean. The buildings are in horrible condition with middle schoolers learning in portable classrooms. In my opinion it kind of feels like they just added the middle school on in the 80's to make more money. The food is horrible but the kids are even worse.

The admin staff, especially Ms. Lopez, is amazing and really cares about the students. Ms. Lopez is "on the ground" enough that she knows the kids names and they all say hi to her when they see her. The preschool teachers, Ms. Gwen, Ms. Margaret and Ms. Kim, are phenomenal. They approach any issues with kindness and sensitivity. They are also firm with the kids and set good boundaries and routines. Finding that balance is typically difficult, but they do it with finesse! The curriculum here, even with the preschool class, sets the kids up for success in higher grades. It balances play and fun with learning. From letter recognition to name writing to "STEM" - via tiny science experiments - music and Spanish, outdoor play and story time, they do it all. Since day one, my child has been excited to go each day and has thrived in the Harper environment. The learning progress I've seen, especially at such a young age, is astounding. We love Harper and appreciate all the staff very much! We hope to be a Harper family for a very long time to come!

Highly, highly recommended for elementary school! A lot of…read morethese reviews are for the daycare/pre-k programs, but I'd like to review the Elementary program, which is newer and smaller. Our son joined the Kindergarten program halfway through the year in Jan '25. He had been at a well-regarded RWC public school, but unfortunately he struggled there with behavior, academic, and motivation issues. Basically, he was slipping through the cracks. He was regressing academically, and most worryingly to me, he was starting to hate going to school. He started at Harper at the mid-year break. There was certainly an adjustment period - the Harper kids were *so* far ahead academically. But, the curriculum is individualized and the support was tremendous. It was amazing how quickly he improved on all fronts: behavior, academics, and motivation. He literally sprints from the car to class each morning. He is so excited and talks about what he learns constantly. He has developed a positive attitude, curiosity, and emotional maturity beyond anything we could have hoped for. Ms. Shaynee, his teacher, is an absolute rock star. We feel so lucky to have had her as his teacher. The class size for elementary grades at Harper is absurdly small right now. Like, 5-10 kids. At first, I thought it would be weird. But it's actually a wonderful number for this age, and it makes Harper such an incredible deal. It's obviously a new school and a new program, and I'm hoping it grows with him as he progresses through the grades. Overall, if you are looking for a private elementary, I just can't recommend Harper enough. No private school in this area is cheap, but I feel we get incredible value for our dollar. The fact that the aftercare is so affordable helps. Also, we hear that if you have multiple kids there then the cost goes down a lot.

We have seen them both develop their social skills, and learn all of the basics that will set them up for success in elementary school. Our older son graduated last year and is now in Kindergarten at our local school. We can see how invaluable the foundational skills from Happy Campers have been, and we are immensely grateful for that. I would say the one big thing that sets Happy Campers apart from other preschools/daycares are the amazing teachers. They are all so patient and kind and caring, and they create a happy and supportive environment for all the kids. As a parent, of course I love my kids, but I really feel that their teachers do too. If you are looking for a place where your kid will feel loved, and you as a family will feel like you are part of a community, then Happy Campers is the place for you!

My son was 17 months when he started and is now 2.5. Initially we chose it because it's close to our house, took kids under 2 (they go as young as 3 months), and had spots open. Also, they don't let allergens in like nuts, seafood, and eggs. My son has a good amount of allergies so that was comforting. Price is average. I feel like our experience has been pretty much par the course for daycare. My son got sick (and us) all the time, cried for months and months at drop off, etc. I say this bc it was certainly hard for us, took some learnings, adjustments, and time to ultimately become comfortable. And, I think that would have been the case anywhere we would have chosen. Overall, I think it's a good environment for my kid. I like the teachers here, they're kind and good with communication. I appreciate their efforts and they care about my son. He also seems to enjoy playing with his classmates and is overall quite happy and engaged with the activities provided (art, story time, outside play 2x). I also think he learns a good amount and that maybe he could have only learned there because of some of those good old fashioned group norms. I also like the app they use called Brightwheel in which they share updates and pictures/videos of your kids' day. And, you can communicate in real time with the teachers which is a big plus. I think they also utilize the curriculum from Brightwheel. They offer parental involvement opportunities with the kids like doing Mystery Reader which is fun and rewarding. The only feedback I would suggest is that it would be nice if they had some sort of opt in parent directory. It feels like there is a bit of overkill with privacy which is appreciated, however I think may impede some of the joy in building community.

It's a wonderful environment and would highly recommend especially around 1-3yo. We joined at a time when our daughter aged out of the infant group but was honestly still too young for the older classrooms at the center based schools. We were at multiple centers and decided to try home day care instead. Ana and her teachers really got to know our daughter and we truly could trust she was in great care. They prepare breakfast lunch and snacks every day which is so valuable for busy parents and amazing value included in the tuition. My daughter has learned so many songs, stories and words in Spanish. She was potty trained with no issues. The teachers come up with fun activities every day incorporating fun themes throughout the seasons. They post wonderful videos and photos on what's app which my daughter loved scrolling through with me any chance she had. It was a huge relief to find a place where she could develop trusted relationships with her teachers, play with kids around her age in a safe and engaging environment. We also loved the focus on strong academics, creativity, and performing arts. The kids had so many opportunities to learn, build confidence, perform, and just have fun being kids. On top of all of that, it was incredibly convenient for our family. The school opens from 8am-5pm, and provides breakfast, lunch, and snack. This makes it very easy for working parents. We are very grateful for the years our kids spent here and for all the teachers and staff who helped make that time so memorable. We would wholeheartedly recommend this preschool to other families.
