After a surgery last year, the doctor ordered physical therapy which I began last spring. The doctor referred me to this provider. The place is huge, spotless, and extremely well equipped, and every one l spoke to there was kind, helpful and knowledgeable. The staff kept me apprised of my progress, was gentle in the process and seemed genuinely happy to help. If you need this type of help, this is a very good place to get it. read more

Dr. Hannah and Steve are the best Physical Therapists I've been to, and I've seen many. They are educated and take time to explain why cemertaun exercises work. They use computer simulation, which helps the patient clearly understand the entire process. Also, they are kind and upbeat people-but they will encourage you and teach you how to do your exercises correctly. I'm so impressed by them, the super new, up to date facility with helpful friendly staff. This is the best Physical Therapy center I can imagine-a true 10 out of 10!!! read more

Because of Covid-19, I am the sole caretaker for my wife which has stage 4b cancer while still trying to hold down a full-time demanding job working from home. It is 7 days a week work & care, 16 to 18 hour days, driving once or twice a week to Stanford. Needless to say, my own medical needs have taken the back seat so many times the last two years. Still have not been able to return to my pulmonary doctor because I have had to reschedule 4 times now due to my wife's treatments and needs. Just my bad luck the day of my appointment on June 19, 2020, at Oakhurst Physical therapy a fellow employee called in sick requiring me to solely cover I.T. support for 5 office on the west coast, but rather than cancel my appointment with the physical therapist I tried to make it work. Big mistake! I brought along my wife because I can't leave her alone as she has double vision, balance issues, and have pills that need to take on time throughout the day. So, I kept my mobile phone close monitoring in case of an emergency and headed there, 30 minutes away. When I arrived, I asked if my wife could come into the appointment with me explaining the situation which was visually obvious. They graciously agree which I appreciated very much. When Tony McClain arrived, we began to talk and he asked questions. My wife knowing that I do not always say everything, a typical man, she spoke up and said something. Tony quickly took an abrupt posture and said, "Who am I having the conversation with, you or your wife?" Are you serious I said, apparently he is only willing to talk to one person at a time regardless and it was obviously more important than ensuring he gets all information. My wife shocked by not only what he said but how he said it and decided to dare not say another word and I said "I guess just me". After the conversation began to ensue my phone did a light single ding. I had set up my phone long ago so with each different sound I know what is going on, emergency vs. non-emergency with our support application. Tony seemed to get instantly furious and said that needs to be shut off or he will not see me. I tried to explain the situation I was in, but he didn't care, he had absolutely no empathy what so ever and seemed to get ruder and ruder down to the point that he would not see me any further unless I shut it off even though it was not evasive like some loud ring tone. This left me with a choice either shut off the phone and risk my job or walk out and risk them billing me regardless and insurance not paying because I walked out. So I shut off my phone praying for no emergencies in the next 45 minutes or understanding by my boss if an emergency gets no reply and I also said as little as possible during the examination so it would end faster. When you are in with this guy, know that he is king, you are on his time, everything is his way or the highway and he does not care about you, your time, or your current situation in life. He will spin it that his reasons is because his patients are his priority but obviously so not true. Both my wife and I left thinking what a major jerk, we could not stop talking about it all the way home. Told a close friend about it and they said they had a similar experience with him and wished we would have talked to them before making the appointment. Although, they used descriptive's of Toney I cannot repeat in this forum. I have been in and out of so many medical appointments constantly for the last two years for my wife at Stanford, Turlock, Fresno, and more together and we have never been treated like this in our lives. I would never return, even if he paid me. When you're already beaten down, trying to make the best of a difficult situation, the last thing you need is this kind of abuse. Found that Mariposa Physical therapy is much more understanding and patient-friendly. read more

I highly recommend Oakhurst Physical Therapy! The staff is friendly and efficient and Dr. Tony is very knowledgeable. They manage the practice very effectively to keep social distancing between patients, clean every piece of shared equipment in between patients, etc. The entire staff works together, communicates very well and has seamless hand-offs, ensuring that someone is always with you to keep you moving along with your exercises and make sure you are using proper form so as to prevent further/new injury, as well as ensuring that Dr. Tony's (and Dr. Lori's) time is used efficiently across multiple patients at a time. Dr. Tony spends time building a personal relationship with his patients which made me feel like he was invested in my success. I also had the good fortune to work with a student from Fresno State during his clinical rotation and watch Dr. Tony mentor him and help him grow. I had to take a two week break during my treatment for a family emergency and they were willing to work with me by giving me extra exercises to advance my progress. They were also willing to do a tele-health appointment if I needed one to keep me on track. They are very invested in your success! read more

We are very appreciative of the excellent care we have received from Oakhurst Physical Therapy over the last 15 or so years. A variety of needs have brought us in: sports injury, post surgery rehabilitation, balance and coordination recovery, strength and conditioning. Hands, knee, back, neck, shoulder, hip -- I think we've covered it all. Regardless of how simple or complex the issue Tony, Lori and the Oakhurst PT staff have always taken the time to listen and look for the most appropriate treatment. Each day on site felt productive and we always left with homework to keep us moving forward independently. ****************HIGHLY RECOMMEND****************** I have had nothing , but positive experiences with Tony, his wife and entire staff as I got to know everyone of them. I have used them 3 times now and always came out smiling or laughing because of everyone's positive energy and my progress with every appointment. He and his staff introduced me to different methods to stay in shape tailored and very specific due to my type of injuries. Some of these were not traditional methods, but were 100% effective. Tony' often has said, "I care more about you and your injuries more then you do." At first. I thought it not offensive, but maybe did not entirely get that, since I did care quite a bit about my injuries. As time went on I was convinced he was right. He pushed me in every right direction to increase my mobility and strength always encouraging me to do certain exercises and stretches at my home as well. He helped me with recommendations through the V.A. to get certain equipment I absolutely needed. He and his staff not only want to help you and get your physical being in better shape then when you first walked in. They are looking at your future well being when your sessions are over. In regards to reading the 2 negative reviews on here I do not agree with. But there opinions, and we are entitled to our own opinions. Opinions are not necessarily facts. I know for a fact that every employee is treated equal with respect. There like a happy family with respect for one another. I have worked with every one of them at one point. I have been going for close to a year with different injuries. Its always a happy and extremely positive environment. I realize if your the one with the injury going into Physical Therapy you can not have others speak on your behalf to get a proper diagnosis. You have to speak up. Its your injury and its your body. Not someone else's that is not experiencing your physical symptoms and pains. Not all men or women have troubles speaking up for themselves and need there wife, husband, or family member, etc. to speak up for them. Like I said. your the one with the injury. You have to speak up for yourself for a physical therapist to evaluate you properly. They can not go just on someone else's words. I have had several injuries, which most were military related and had a couple different Physical Therapists. Having your own voice seems to ring true in all Physical Therapy establishments. I have witnessed all other patients in there facility happy with the staff and there progress by the time there session was over. I cant ever imagine going to anyone else. This is the 5th time my husband Dana has had to get Physical therapy after a Surgery or Injury. Tony and Lori and Staff have been great. It is remarkable how fast he can recover in so little time, from total knee replacement to broken femur this time. He does his exercise they give him at home and had a positive attitude when he goes to Pt. The staff has been great. It is nice to have a good Physical therapy in the Oakhurst area. read more

When I first came to Oakhurst Physical Therapy I wasn't sure what to expect as this was my first experience with Physical Therapy. Their location was so convenient so I decided to move forward with scheduling an appointment. From the first phone call I placed I was very impressed. The office assistants were very professional and handled transferring my therapy from Fresno to Oakhurst. Every time I enter the office I am greeted with a warm hello and they even remember my name. Tony was assigned to be my Physical Therapist. I was expecting all business however Tony wanted to find out about me and my injury before getting started, he also shared about himself and the rest of the staff which made for a very personal experience. Tony took the time to explain every exercise, verified that I was completing the exercise correctly and what the benefits of the exercise were. One day Tony pulled me aside and introduced me to another patient who was going through the same issues that I was facing. We spoke for several minutes, he explained what to expect from the surgical procedure and I found this to be very comforting. Came to them with a prescription for 24 sessions for sciatica. Did three and the stretching exercises they gave me worked like a charm. Granted it was on about the 4th week but still had pain and trouble sleeping. Graduated with only 3 sessions. Will not hesitate to return if the sicatica pain comes back. Will continue to do those stretching exercises. read more
