Fantastic service and great work. I had my headlights replaced on my 2017 Honda Accord. I ordered them online, and took them to Oakland Auto Center to be installed. In addition they repaired my front bumper which was a bit detached because of a curb that was a bit too high. Oakland Auto Center did an excellent job and completed the work in just a few hours. I picked up my car later in the day and could not believe how well it looked. I'll be taking my car to Oakland Auto Center for any work that it needs in the future. I am very happy to have found Oakland Auto! When my truck got stuck in reverse I had visions of dollar signs spinning through my head. They told me the part was $350.00 however there was a chance it could simply be repaired. Guess what? Marty was able to repair the shifter and it ended up costing me much, much less. I did ask for an Oil Change and Marty also found and replaced a bad belt during his routine inspection. When I came to pick up the vehicle Missy insisted upon taking me out into the garage to inspect the bad belt. It was indeed very dry rotted. After so many times dealing with Auto Repair and Oil Change places trying to sell me this, that, and oh yeah those too, I am very impressed when I come across good honest people that try to save you a buck. I came away from Oakland Auto Center on a first name basis with Missy and Marty and confidence in my new Mechanic. They are also the only Auto Repair Shop in Florida with a 100% Rating from AAA. read more

Absolute first class! Marty is the real deal. He's smart, persistent and honest. He and Missy have been taking care of both of my cars and my wife's car for about a year and a half now. Twice in that time Marty has gotten to the bottom of 'impossible' problems that would have been multi-thousand dollar nightmares at some big-box garage. He's meticulous. He doesn't cut corners on routine work like so many mechanics do. I like being able to trust that everything that should be checked is checked for real. It just doesn't get any better than this. Very highly recommended! Matilde gave me the evil eye once, but we'll let that pass ;-)* *Matilde is a mannequin in front of the shop. I went here because of all the great Yelp reviews and I was not disappointed. I had a battery installed by AAA a year prior and it was giving me problems. After having AAA check the battery twice before I visited Oakland Auto Center they told me to see a mechanic because there was something wrong with my car. I brought it to Marty and he did some tests to confirm the problem - it was the battery. AAA then had to go to Oakland Auto Center to replace my battery and then pay my invoice for Marty to diagnose that it was, in fact, the battery. I will be going back to Marty. read more

I HESITATE to do this, because I don't want them so busy they won't be able to fix my car! I've always looked for a shop I can trust and being recently new to South Florida, this one's it. When Marty's done, he invites you in his shop, tells you what he did while showing you the parts he replaced. I like the fact he uses brand parts and has many ways to get them and with that finds the best price. His better half Missy reflects the "warm fuzzy's" of knowing your car is in good hands. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! I took my car to this shop on 10/08/2018 they charged me 254.20 for labor to replace a Crankshaft sensor, this part is easy to replace and only takes 10 minutes to replace also he replaced the mass air flow sensor and charged 58.80 for labor this part takes 5 minutes to replace it sits right in front and plugs in when i picked up the vehicle my total bill was 725.00 for those two parts!!!My car still did nor run I had to take it to another mechanic to fix the problem and he told me this business charged way to much for labor on these parts I am a single woman and he took advantage of that please take your car somewhere else I would hate to see this happen to anyone else. read more

We all know how upsetting (and potentially expensive) an unexpected car repair can be, but let me tell you this is the ONLY place I will be taking my car from here on out, without question. I'm a first time patron, but man, do I wish I had found him sooner. He will NOT rip you off and he will NOT scare you into unnecessary repairs. This is mostly for you, ladies: Let's be honest, we've all gotten fleeced because we don't know enough about cars--not being sexist, just telling it like it is. This isn't my first day at the rodeo; I've had dozens of cars and a myriad of car problems throughout my driving life, so I know more than some of my gender and at least can recognize B.S. when it's served up. I don't care what year it is, how far you've excelled in your career or education, when you're female and have no male support around you--husband, brother, uncle, dad, etc.-- and have car problems, you're instantly vulnerable and completely at the mercy of the shop. All you want is your car back without emptying your bank account, right? It's a nerve-wracking and humiliating experience. NOT SO with Oakland Auto---he and Missy (and Matilde!) have been in business for that many years for a REASON. You could send your sister, mom, or granny there alone and know that they will be treated with respect and honesty. Marty will get straight to the point, tell you exactly what's wrong and even try to work out solutions that best fit your budget (Ex: Just fix the most urgent issue without trying to manipulate you into unnecessary work). You'll get your vehicle back with no hidden B.S. ("Oh, when I went in, I also had to replace the...." line), he gets it right the first time and you'll drive away with confidence that a skilled craftsman has taken meticulous care to get you back on the road. Here's a test of character: I went in thinking another place had damaged my car, but after his inspection of my vehicle, he determined it was nothing they had done, it was simply my high mileage car's time for something to go out. How cool is that? He could have easily bad-mouthed another place, but he didn't. What a gem to find a place where pride in one's work is still valued. Unfortunately I wish I could write a better review but I have to be honest. I took my car in to replace the water pump and check out my rough idle. I got a call saying it would be $325 to have an aftermarket water pump installed. I knew that was the cost the DEALER would have charged for OEM but I figured if they could find the rough idle it would be worth paying up for. When I went to the shop I was told I had a possible vacuum leak. They didn't test anything!! When I asked about it they said I would have to bring it back to have tested because they were too busy. So I did a week later and they charged me $185 just to do a smoke test and still could not tell me where the leak is. The DEALER charges $110 for this test and definitely would have pinpointed the problem. Overpriced!!! read more

If I could give this place 10 Stars I would, hands down. Marty is a very experienced individual in the field of Automotive Repair. His prices are fair , and his work is efficient. He not only tells you what you believe to be wrong with your car, but also what else is wrong with your car. The work is phenomenal. Because of him , his experience, and his honesty , I was able to get a refund from the auto place after I pointed out what they did not do and had Marty's clarification to prove it. I took two cars to Marty for pre-purchase inspections and he gave me the honest truth. One car failed before he even did the preinspection .. He referred to that same make, model and year that he has personally worked on with the same reoccurring issue and even showed me and informed me how expensive they are to mantian. I found a 2nd vehicle a few hours later and while test driving it (with an employee of the car lot) I dropped back by to see if he could check that car out. He managed to squeeze me in (which he definitely did not have to do). He extensively looked the 2nd vehicle over, checked the electronics, tires, undercarriage and things that a professional mechanic should do. He took notes and was very thorough. The vehicle passed with 2 minor issues that are a quick fix. A ball joint screw and a left fender. I recommend Oakland Auto for professionalism, service, attention to detail and timeliness.
