I have been to Oaklawn Psychological Services off and on for treatment of bipolar disorder for the past 20 years. I have never received good care or results. 3 different Drs there actually made my problems worse. I decided to give it another try this year, but my referral was denied due to past aggression towards the staff. That's news to me. Whatever. So, now I can add being lied about to the list of negatives with this place. Its no loss really given my care history. So, they actually have done me a big favor. My dogs veterinarian could provide better mental heath care. read more

Saw Dr. Quadri. I've had anxiety issues my whole life, was hoping to find a new one that could understand what Ive been going through. Right off the bat, he was not empathetic or understanding. Gave off the vibe, pretty obviously, that he did not care about patients. Basically told me, for social anxiety, that most meds are a crapshute to see what will work, didnt have one in mind, told me to force myself to go outside and that Id have to deal with it the rest of my life. Dont know what hes doing working there, worst doc Ive seen. read more

One appointment a month is unfair to the patient. I understand there's the covid flu, but that really doesn't have any bearing on getting appointments. Dr. Lowe is a good Doctor as she appears to listen. However, her scheduling is problematic. The staff is super nice. Kind of sad as you build a rapport with someone and then you have to start over again. No thanks. I'll go it alone. read more

The mental health services seem to be okay, but watch out for appointment gouging. You'll be offered half sessions before full sessions but if you have insurance you will be charged the same rate for the half sessions as the full sessions. Since less ground is covered in a half sessions, you'll have more appointments and be paying more out of pocket for less service. If you're offered half sessions, ask for the next available full session. Chances are you'll get in as quickly or just a few days later. read more

Ashley is not a very good couple's therapist or drug counselor. I was having a hard time with my husband because he was smoking pot and lying to me about it. Additionally we have 2 very small children and I didn't want him high around my kids. She not only justified his usage but argued with me over whether it was a "big deal" or not. It's still illegal, if it's in your system at work you can get fired and if you get injured at work and it's in your system they can and will deny payment of your claim. She said things like "yeah well it will be legal in a couple weeks" and "it's the same thing as having a beer." Really? IT'S ILLEGAL. IT STAYS IN YOUR SYSTEM MUCH LONGER. On top of all that, he is a recovering heavy user and barely functioned for years because he was so dependent on it. This woman had the audacity to argue with me and talk down to me yet your job is to get me and my husband to work together. You want some advice? Don't do couple's therapy. When you decide to state your opinion and take sides, it's a problem. I won't be back. read more

I love my therapists! Yes I have 2! Stephanie and Ashely! I absolutely LOVE Ashley! I've never been more comfortable with a therapist and connected so well. I do EMDR with Stephanie and have made huge progress in just a couple months. These ladies are wonderful:) read more

I wouldnt even give this place a piece of a star. Currently my daughter has really severe anxiety and severe depression in which she has had a attempted suicide. She called for help. She was scheduled only to get there for them to be extremely rude. The lady at the desk told her she was not scheduled there. Then proceeded to say well you need to go to emergency room first anyways before they would even do anything then tells well we don't even take your insurance so we can't help you anyways. Ok did I mention my daughter had high anxiety and was suicidal. Umm you can't help find some resources. Oh and my daughter has a 2 month old. She refuses to be hospitalized. She just was wanting to get back on medication and to talk to someone. But to have this person be so rude now she don't want to get help period.
