Also did a little shopping and even stopped at the Telus store for some Iphone troubleshooting. The Mall is a nice spot. Plenty of natural light from the ceiling windows. It was busy, but plenty of space to move around. Everyone was behaving themselves, adults and kids alike. There is good variety of stores to shop at. From anchor department stores, technology, clothing and personal wares. The gardens are a nice feature too. Very relaxing to stroll through and check out some of the current blooms.

the core shopping centre in downtown calgary has a bit of a strange first impression depending on…read morewhich entrance you come through. from outside it can feel slightly sketchy or dated in places, but once you're inside it shifts into a very different environment. inside, it's bright, open, and spread across four levels (ground level plus three floors). there's a lot of glass skylight overhead, which pulls natural light deep into the building and makes the whole space feel warmer and more inviting than a typical enclosed mall. even in winter, the light gives it a greenhouse like quality in certain sections, especially near open atriums. there's plenty of seating throughout and a good number of charging stations, which makes it easy for people to pause, rest, or even work for a while. that "stay longer" design is clearly intentional and fits how the space is used today, not just as a shopping centre but as a place where people spend time between errands or during the workday. the tenant mix is fairly strong and spread across different price points. simons anchors one end of the mall, while holt renfrew sits at the other, creating a deliberate high to mid range balance. h&m spans two floors, and there's a mix of beauty and fashion staples like sephora, mac, aritzia, birks, and kiokii and...which keeps traffic flowing between levels rather than concentrating in one area. what stands out structurally is the layout. it isn't a simple loop where you can walk in a full circle from one end to the other. instead, it's more segmented and vertical, with movement happening through escalators, atriums, and connecting corridors. it feels less like one continuous path and more like stacked zones, which can be confusing at first but makes more sense once you start using the vertical flow. another key part of how the core actually functions is its connection to downtown pedestrian infrastructure. it links into the plus 15 skywalk system, so a lot of the foot traffic isn't purely shopping driven. office workers use it as a weather protected route between buildings, especially in winter, which keeps the space constantly active on weekdays and gives it more of a transit hub feel than a traditional mall. the skylight heavy architecture and open interior also tie into nearby public spaces like devonian gardens, creating a broader indoor ecosystem of greenery, light, and public seating. together they blur the line between retail space and public commons. there's also a noticeable contrast between the exterior and interior. the outside can feel a bit rough or uninviting in certain entry points, but once inside it becomes bright, warm, and heavily occupied. that contrast is part of why the experience feels so divided at first. what stands out most overall is that the core doesn't really behave like a conventional shopping mall. it functions more like a hybrid space: part retail centre, part office amenity hub, part pedestrian connector, and part indoor public space designed for lingering rather than just shopping and leaving.

This is a review of the Market Mall Alberta Precision Lab in the Market Mall Professional Building…read more If you need blood work done, I highly recommend you go in at 5:30 pm during walk-in especially if you have children and need numbing cream. You'll get treatment you'll never forget. I went in on Friday to get my child's blood work done. I came early (5pm) as the numbing cream needed time. Walk-in was to start at 5:30pm.I was paged on my phone at 5:28 pm. I went in and went to the desk. I waited until I was acknowledged by the man in the dark green shirt. He was at the counter (no one at the desk). I explained I had been paged but needed some extra time for the numbing cream to work. He did not give any eye contact, shrugged his shoulders and was arrogant and passive aggressive in his replies. I politely asked for more time for the numbing cream to work. He shrugged his shoulders. He started getting red in the face, his body was shaking and he was shuffling papers. He got angrier and more agitated the more I asked questions, like "does the numbing cream still work if it has not been on the required time?" He said, "How do I know?" and "I don't know anything about numbing cream." Calmly, I told him I would return to the lobby where I was instructed to wait, and waited longer. No one came and got me for my bloodwork. A female patient leaving the office, came to get me. The staff and the other lady at the desk that the manager was with a patient, then that there was no manager. While I was in the lobby, the lady staff member came out with a lady not in scrubs. This might have been the manager. I took my children to the lobby to wait for our ride. I didn't see the man from the lab come down the elevator so he must have taken an other route. He sat in the lobby, texting on his phone. As he left, I told him his behaiour was unacceptable.' I have worked with problematic behaviour as a career, lol. He yelled back, "I am not working right now so I don't have to be nice to you" as he came close to us as he was exiting by the front doors. My daughter was frightened. Thanks to the two wonderful strangers who waited with us outside until my husband showed up. More photos to come & updates. If you need blood work done, I highly recommend you go in at 5:30 pm during walk-in especially if you have children and need numbing cream. You'll get treatment you'll never forget.

We came to the mall to use the playplace and were going to go shopping after the kids played and got rid of some energy but because of this we will never go this mall again. Also couldn't believe the people running the "customer service" station directly outside the closed off play area. The staff seemed to only care about their phones while we were trying to check in to the ridiculous app. Not sure who's brilliant idea this play area waiting app was but it's having the opposite effect that they were after I'm sure. Won't even go to or order from any of the restaurants attached to this mall, keep up the horrible service

Happy New Years to everyone by the way, it was a great decade and I wish you all a better one! The nineties are now coined the naughties for me but that is another story so let me get to my review. This Winners is way down south, the most southeast you can go, it is so south here that the temp is actually a bit warmer. No not true, it was a really cold day and it was nice to have the free parking to have the leisure to browse. This Winners is a nice one, not so crowded and with a great selection, I was able to find at least 20 items and place them in my shopping cart for the fitting room. And let me tell you I am super picky about fashion plus my body is a little chubby wubby, so I was delighted to find really fashionable items in my size. Sale staff here are very pleasant and eager to assist you. The store is well laid out, very clean and is spacious enough for carts to pass through, which sometimes I have a hard time with at other locations. Amongst things I bought I was able to come away with very nice grey dress pant at under $20, a stylish sage wool jacket at $30 and another formal blouse combo for work for like $15. I saw some amazing deals on winter jackets by Donna Karen, Kenneth Cole, and Micheal Kors here. The undergarment section was also chock full with well made items by Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. This Winner's is definitely a winner!

Well it is a nice feeling walking there I know most of the shop owners now so sometimes I sit and have tea and it really is like travelling to the orient which is a great distraction to the weather we are having inside. But what people don't know about Dragon City is that at one time in the early 90s it was actually an office building. Plus when they originally constructed the 3 levels they actually consulted with a FENG SHUI master. The mall is said to bring peace or good fortune to anyone who visit. NO WONDER I AM ALWAYS THERE! How lovely, a mall out of the cold, with all the amenities, that brings you good fortune and peace anytime you enter...there is even a karate dojo on the third floor.
