Quick Service, delicious treats. Was given free home made ice cream. Great service, definitely worth the stop

Groovy little place. After a meeting downtown, I was in the mood for a fruit cup. Searched YELP and BOOM! This place popped up as the location closest to my location. Great fruit cup! They offer various sizes and I bought the 16oz with chamoy. I will definitely go back to try the Mangonada and other snacks.

Come here if you want a raspa that's practically no shaved ice and all liquid as soon as you pick up your order. I asked the cashier if he could remake my raspa because the shaved Ice is practically melted even though I just picked it up from the ordering window seconds before and he tells me no. I will never return to this business and I will strongly recommend my family and friends don't come either.

This is our 4th visit here this month. Best spot in SA hands down. 10/10 always good.

UYE First Friday Lunch Bunch 7/7/17 - Tex Mex Food Crawl stop #3 Oasis Tropical Fruteria a cute little dessert stand on the West side of town. Brightly painted with only a few seats available to stay and enjoy your fruity delights. Our service came from a super sweet young girl. Oasis wasn't busy when we arrived about 12:30pm, so she was able to help us chose something that we might like. She was more than happy to share samples with us... We appreciated that opportunity. I believe what I had was an original Mangonada w/o the gummies, just fruit and spice. I've never had one before so it was interesting. I loved the addition of fresh fruit and the shaved ice had a nice flavor. They have a huge menu to chose from... even have nachos and Frito Pie if you want something more than just sweets. It really helps to have pictures of everything but there is so much to choose from, it's still hard to make decisions. I can't say it's the best Mangonada since I've never had one before... but I do like them and I'm sure I will try it again sometime.

Stumbled across this place and I'm glad we did! Coming from a border town I definitely miss Mexican snacks! This place has a little bit of everything you might crave while trying to stay as traditional as possible. I've learned to realize that many regions make mangonadas many ways. To say that these are the traditional mangonadas that I'm used too, would be a lie. However, they are still delicious and you should probably give them a try! I ordered their mangonada (which I assumed was their traditional), a Mexican style corn on a cup, and a Rusa. The mangonada we received was actually not the one we ordered. After reading the descriptions we decided to get the one that's labeled as "Mangonada" the one we received looked a lot more simple than what we imagined. When we explained to the lady she said that one was the one we ordered, I showed her a picture of their menu and read through the description. Clearly what they call their items and what's on the menu is different. DOUBLE CHECK THEY KNOW WHAT YOU WANT BEFORE YOU ORDER, DONT TRUST THE NAMES. LIST THE INGREDIENTS YOU WANT ON IT. I've seen a lot of reviews complaining about this. Traditionally, this experience is a make it your own experience. After explaining what I wanted on mine, they happily took it back and brought me back what I wanted! The corn on the cup, although not traditional, was super tasty! The Rusa was probably the star! Packed with fruit and perfect for a hot summer day! Try this place out! Don't be afraid to talk to the people helping you out. Tell them what you want and I promise they'll make it happen!

Oasis Tropical Frutería: Best mangonada in town! It's also right across the street from Amistad Park. Recently Oasis Tropical Frutería has made some updates to their menu, and have also added additional seating. They still have all the old favorites, of course. The staff here are so sweet and service is speedy. Prices are very reasonable, and they accept credit cards (including Discover). I highly recommend visiting them for your favorite San Antonio treat - be it raspas, mangonadas, strawberries with cream, nachos, corn in a cup, fruit cups, shaved ice, banana splits, frito pie, and more.

This is located right across from my office, so I drive right by every morning. My co-worker and I decided to check it out and try a refreshing fruit cup. First of all they have a ton of menu options. They offer fruit cups, mangonadas, drinks, ice cream, fresas, hot cheetos, and nachos. It really is a snack Oasis. I ordered the fruit cup and customized it with watermelon, strawberries, cucumber and melon, with the chili, lime and salt to top it off. The fruit was cold and refreshing. I also tried the Rusa another time, which is a drink concoction with grapefruit soda, ice, Jimiaca, cucumbers, chamoy, chili and pinapple. It was delicious and really satisfied my fruit cup and drink craving. Just a little tip, they are not always immediately available, so you have to ring a bell, but the past couple of times, I have just tapped on the window to get their attention.

I got a mangonada and was a little disappointed. The mangonada tasted watered down which is how my friends like it but I want that sweet punch in the mouth. It is truly as simple as necessary. They do not add any siced mangos and you don't taste any bits of mango in the shaved ice. I'm guessing they just used a mango flavored syrup. Instead they add layers of chamoy and tajin throughout the cup and at the top they dig a hole and fill it with chamoy and tajin so you can spread it out in the shaved ice. You can't argue with the prices but I am willing to spend a little more for the extra goodies you get at other similar places. All in all I ended up enjoying my mangonada after it had melted. I don't know if I would choose Oasis Tropical Fruteria over its competitors though.

Said differently, I felt like a kid in a shaved ice store. Ice Ice Baby serves desserts with bold, fresh and sweet and spicy flavors. This San Antonio go-to shop is known for its shaved ice and Mexican inspired treats that are packed with fresh fruit, chamoy, chili powder, Tajín, and candy toppings, all made to order and can be customized to your liking. They have many colorful pictures of dessert options, you can feel a bit overwhelmed. The menu offers a dessert options such as classic raspas (Mexican style shaved ice) and Italian ice to popular items like mangonadas (mango based slushy or shaved ice dessert), fruit cups, and corn in a cup. The shaved ice was smooth and refreshing, with vibrant fruit flavors that taste extremely fresh. Whether you go all fruit, candy loaded, or extra spicy, the portions are generous and are well worth the price. I chose the Mango Bear with Italian ice. The mangos were fresh and sweet. Also, the Italian ice was so smooth it felt like eating sorbet. Great first-time experience... Inside, the shop is clean, colorful, and welcoming...a perfect place to cool off from the Texas heat. Bright yellow picnic tables line the inside of the shop. The vibe was casual and family-oriented. The servers made you feel like you were the only one in the shop even though folks waited in line behind you. They were friendly and helpful, especially explaining menu options or offering recommendations and samples to first timers like myself. Highly recommend Ice Ice Baby!

From the outside, it looks like a modest strip-mall spot, but step inside and you're welcomed by vibrant Mexican colors, cheerful murals, and a cozy, inviting vibe. It feels like a true mom-and-pop gem. The young lady at the counter was warm, patient, and genuinely helpful while my uncle tried his best for his choices. He went with mint pistachio ice cream and a strawberry agua fresca, while my aunt got her mangonada. The real standout? The agua fresca. Made to order with real, fresh strawberries--more like a strawberry slushie in the best way. Generous portion, affordable price, and a far from usual dispenser drink that's been sitting around. You can taste the freshness. Great service, quality treats, and a colorful little space that's perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth (we took ours to go). Ice Ice Baby may look unassuming, but it's definitely underrated and worth coming back for. A sweet new discovery for us in San Antonio.
