If you're looking for a place to be productive, OBA Oosterdok is it. It's massive (7 floors!) so you can almost always find a corner to settle into. They've clearly thought about modern needs: ample power outlets, tons of desk space, and fast, free Wi-Fi. Once you're done working, head upstairs to the cafe. Inside you will find a library (part of the OBA) and also readingtables and room to study. I like to study in this library as there are many nice quiet spots (especially upstairs). There are electricity sockets to charge my laptop and staff are friendly. At the reading table various magazines and newspapers can be read (even by non-members). The material is mostly in Dutch, but there is a turkish newspaper. Newspaper/magazines include glossies, Elsevier, Financieel dagblad, Volkskrant, Parool, Consumentenbond gids, etc. During weekend days and wednesday afternoons, it can get noisy downstairs. Tip: - Free wifi for members - If you plan to bring a laptop, ensure you have enough electricity cable extension.
