A co-worker friend has regularly come here through the years. They are busy, and we were lucky that there is one more spot on the last week of filing when I called 2 weeks ago. There's a wait, but that's because we arrived late. I called beforehand that we were running late, and they were accommodating and told me to just come and they'll serve us when we get here. The lady who prepared our documents was informative and went through each line, explaining to us what it is. We're some new happy customers. Price is comparable to our usual preparer.

I don't want to write this review, because Cajucom has been a good tax preparation company for us…read moreover several years (I would say 5 star), but I cannot go without telling my experience. The following is an email I sent to the top man, Dante, but it appears they all use the same email address, as the response was given by the same associate that is called out for the issue. I will not give their name, because it doesn't matter in my opinion: I had been waiting for my tax returns to come to my account since February.  Neither State nor Federal arrived.  I went to the IRS website to inquire about my refund.  After inputting the information required, the message I got back was that the information was incorrect and they had no record of my filing.  Same with the State.  I contacted your office to ask if something happened during the process.  An associate took my questions and, after some time, answered that both filings were sent before I left the office on the day I came in to them.  That didn't sound correct, since refunds normally come much faster than this, and the IRS had no record of my filing.  I contacted the CA Franchise Tax Board IMMEDIATELY after getting the information from your associate and spoke with a live rep there.  After giving the information to the Franchise Tax Board rep, he said I would need to wait for my refund, because the filing had just been received minutes before I contacted him.  I do not know the ins and outs of tax preparation, but I do know that I was lied to about when the filing occurred.  Mistakes happen, and had they came clean about it and told me the filing had not been sent, I would have been fine with it.  It would be disappointing, but things happen and it was corrected.  However, they tried to tell me it had already been sent.  They gave me a document to prove it had been sent, which cannot be a true statement, as it was sent the same day the associate and I were discussing it.  This was confirmed directly from the Franchise Tax Board rep not even fifteen minutes after I received the documentation from the associate.  And, sure enough, immediately after I spoke to that rep, I went back to the IRS website, and it also showed that my filing was now processing, after giving them the exact same information that originally was not in the system just two days prior. Dan, you have either created an environment where your workers feel they need to hide discrepancies from you, or the associate is just dishonest.  Either way, I will not return next year to have your team file my taxes, nor will my wife. We have come to you for several years with our filings, but our trust is gone, and we will not take the chance that anyone at your company will do this to me again.   The following is the response I got minutes after sending the email to Dante. The response is from the associate, not Dante. Again, it appears they use one email address for everyone; although I did specifically say, in the introduction, the email was for Dante to read and understand and that I did not require any assistance. Response given: The information we have is accurate and was provided by the IRS/State. This information reflects what the IRS/State reviewed upon filing the tax return. Since we are only a 3rd party, we do not receive information directly from the IRS or State. Please understand that we are also assisting other clients. I cannot believe their response. I cannot believe the IRS and FTB are both lying about when they received my filing (especially since the timing for both receiving my filings coincided with the end of the conversation with the Cajucom associate), lol. I never complained about how long it took to get back to me. In their defense, it was a reasonable amount of time. Either way, I have received both refunds, and haven't gone to jail for tax evasion, since the issue WAS corrected. I just will not take the chance of being lied to by a company I'm paying for a service, and I cannot suggest anyone to use them due to this. Mistakes happen and can be resolved; lying cannot.
