nobody calls back!! i called today to try to move my friday appointment to saturday, and i got the freaking help center both times, who said they would put me in touch, then just hung up on me! i'm not even a member here yet and i already have a bad taste in my mouth, and im not even sure i want to bank here. instead of sending us to a freaking help line, maybe start answering the phones in your own location first. read more

Back in July, my partner and I were shopping around for mortgages. Based on OCCU's advertised rate, we decided to submit an online application. After about a week of not hearing anything, my partner called the main line and our application was assigned to Cody. We spoke to Cody on the phone and discussed our excellent credit scores and that we had put in an offer on a house. We had told him who else we were considering and he made a joke that he had never lost business to that bank. The phone call went well and he sent an email with the list of everything he'd need: paystubs, W2s, bank account statements, and employer info. We told him to wait on pulling credit until an hour later when our offer was accepted! They ran our credit and we sent over all of the requested documents. After our credit was ran (each of us rock about 800) and files submitted, I sent a couple follow up emails over the next couple of days checking the status of our application. On a side note, the seller terminated the purchase agreement, so we were not on a time crunch for securing a loan anymore. My partner called and left a couple of voicemails to get a hold of Cody. No response by email or phone. It is incredibly unprofessional and rude to ghost your clients the way he did. What's especially frustrating is that he stopped communicating with us after we let him run our credit scores, so now we have a completely unnecessary credit hits. We had told him on our phone call that we were also interested in opening checking and savings accounts with them, since we used credit unions before where we lived and liked them a lot. However, due to our experience with the mortgage team, I am truly skeptical that we wouldn't receive the same kind of customer service across the board. What's interesting is that our realtor warned us against OCCU. He said that they won't work for you the way other lenders will. Your loan officer at OCCU will only work bankers hours, so if you need something on the weekend or after hours, you'll be out of luck. Little did we know we would be completely ignored after the initial communication. read more

I banked with with U-lane-O for years before they changed their name to OCCU, In that time I accumulated about $500 in over draft fees starting my business. They did an amazing thing when I talked to them about it, they forgave me $500 and gifted me $500 putting me $1000 in the black, under the guise that my overdrafts where shut down. They where not, and I was surprised a month later when they shut down my accounts due to an overdraft, they unforgave $500 and took back their $500 gift without communicating with me at all. Occu is a horrible business with absolutely zero ethics and morals, I will never willingly do business with them again. I bank with Umpqua now, they're great for a credit union, Selco is pretty good too. read more

I've banked with OCCU for decades, for both businesses and personal. I recently lost my wallet at my kids choir concert. I lost my driver's license, all my cards, everything...it was easy enough to cancel my cards, but getting quick replacement cards has proven to be unreasonably difficult. They can print off new cards instantly in branch, but only if you display your driver's license. I lost mine in my wallet. I have my temp license from the DMV, I have a photo copy of my lost ODL, I have my birth certificate, I have my social security card, I have my marriage license, I have a photo copy of my lost bank cards, I even have my goddamn highschool transcript and college degree... Not good enough...somehow. Not to mention that they literally know my face, I've banked there for decades, not good enough. The employees have zero latitude or willingness to help. They are effectively human shaped ATM machines only. No personal ouch, no reasonable solutions, no help, no f*cks given. Thx for nothing OCCU. read more

I imagine they're a good CU, but asked for a notary, which I was very willing to pay for; yeahhhhhh, ummm, if you're not a member you won't get one. Turned away without an option to pay for one. Just moved here. Welcome to Oregon, we're not helping you. Pretty crappy honestly. Worst customer service ever. Blunder after blunder throughout six contacts over online banking, on the phone, via email, and in person. They closed my account without giving proper notice during Covid isolation. They kept the money that was in the account. I pushed back on that decision. They recanted and said they'd send me a check the following day. They got my address wrong, which I learned two months later. Then they expected me to jump through more hoops so they could correct their mistake. I'm glad it was a paltry amount of money in the account. It's a TERRIBLE way to treat an at-risk senior citizen "credit union member" during a pandemic. This was the final straw. I'd been with the company for about 18 months and in all that time I had ONE positive interaction with their employees. Go somewhere else to do your financial transactions. It's not worth the emotional frustration trying to work with these people. read more

I was with Wells Fargo for 10 years and even had my account numbers memorized and everything. Then I switched to Oregon Community Credit Union in 2007. Moved to Portland in 2009 where they don't have any branches, but I never had a reason to switch banks. Everything I would be able to do with SIMPLE I've been able to do with OCCU. Their app is so convenient and they have co-op branches and ATMs everywhere, including every 7-11. No hidden fees. No checking and savings fees (banks still charge this?). Just a requirement to have at least $5 in both accounts.  The people that work in branches and the people they outsource customer service are amazing. So competent and so helpful. I once had a concern about a transfer to a Discover account and they went out of their way to call Discover on three-way, and did most of the talking to make sure I had all the answers I needed. So, yeah. Haven't had to switch. And it feels good knowing my money is kept in Oregon and supporting Oregon. read more

I had financed and paid for a small balance auto loan through OCCU. Later in life, I sold the car to a 3rd party dealer who said they would do the DMV paperwork but never did. Long story short, the title was never taken out of my name, DMV needed to have a release so the new owner can get get the title. I went to the OCCU Wilsonville branch to see if they could help, such as showing I paid off the loan. June went beyond the call of duty to help, even called the dealer I sold the car to. She even followed up with me a few days later. She is wonderful and is a perfect example of GREAT customer service and keeping customers happy. read more

Wow, I really wanted to like this place because it's within walking distance from my house, and the name implies that it's community oriented. That was not the feel I got when I stepped in to open an account today. For one, none of the employees were wearing masks although we're in a high risk category in this county. The line was long, and there were many tellers plus 4-5 non-teller employees sitting at their desks. There is no where to go when you first walk in except the teller line - there is a sign indicating EVERYONE has to stand in line, so as a person there to open a new account, I had to wait in line with everyone else. When it was finally my turn, the teller informed me they had "no available appointments" today. They can't open a new account for me, even though they had 4-5 employees sitting at their desks, NONE OF WHOM were engaged with customers. Two guys didn't even have computers in front of them, they were just sitting at their desks staring at the open space. I said "okay, I guess I'm not opening an account then" and left. If you want people to join your bank, you have to make it accessible to them. read more

I moved to Eugene in August and my former credit union has no branches here. OCCU had decent reviews and is close to my new place. My experience thus far has been outstanding. Mind you, I'm not Mr. Monopoly. There is no need to diversify my portfolio...But for a middle-class guy with a middle-class wallet, I've had no negative experiences with OCCU. I also appreciate how quick they process after hours deposits. Always in the next day! Friendly staff and quick moving lines. read more

I switched from Chase bank to here about a year ago. Best decision I ever made! Way more options, personal customer service, and willing to answer my every question, including when the questions weren't for me, but family that doesn't have an account with them. read more

this is the worst banking experience i have ever had. terrible bank. snakes. you have to threaten to close your accounts before any action is taken to resolve an issue!!! have had to call repeatedly to have things that only take a mouse click to fix. they do not keep up on their records !!! have had issues with every card ever sent or received!!! do not put your hard earned money into this "bank". tired of dealing with the same issues over and over. get it together!!!! read more

If you attempt to use their online services, beware. The screens it shows you with available balances is not always accurate. I recommend not using it at all. This morning, my available balance was $353. I transferred $27 dollars from savings to checking and while the transfer showed up in the transaction column the available balance in checking didn't change. Their explanation was that my balance in checking was not $353 this morning but the $27 dollar transfer raised it to $353. Now I know this is not true unless their computer was able to look several hours into the future and predict what the balance was going to be after I moved money around. Don't trust them. I wrote that $353 available balance down at 9:30 this morning three full hours before I made the transfer that they claim raised my available balance to that $353 number. That's too remarkable a coincidence for me to believe it. This happened once before with a twelve dollar transfer. So that makes twice that they claim their computer could look into the future and accurately predict how much I was going to move and when. Give me a break. read more
