Work place safety is imperative. Wearing the right gear for certain jobs like safety glasses, vests, and hard hats. But also personal health. In the trucking business there are also things like DOT cards. A DOT card is where the driver has to go for a physical. Some people have to go each year, others every 2 years. At a DOT physical, they check for sugar, your blood pressure, general safety of the driver. Some companies demand that during the physical the employees are tested for strength, lifting objects up to a certain weight. Drug tests, eye and ear exams also. Through the years I have been here quite often for my annual physical. They get you right in, cost is fair. If a driver is caught without an up to date DOT card he or she is facing a fine. read more
