Great food and service!! The buffet is the best Asian selection of food we've ever eaten. The selection of sushi is extensive and delicious. They also offer a variety of hibachi items they will prepare to your liking. The restaurant is spacious and the service staff are friendly and fast. We have been several times and even though we drive 25 miles to get there, it is well worth it. They also offer a selection of American food that is very good. Prices are very reasonable for what is offered. Go there!! read more

So this was the first time at Ocean buffet, and it may be my last time. It wasn't because of the quality of the food. They actually have a pretty large selection of food options, even for me, which I was a little concerned about because I have a shellfish allergy, but I left satisfied. The food was also pretty good. Some things were hit-or-miss. Like their bao buns didn't taste fresh and their calamari had been sitting out too long so it was a little chewy, but it was seasoned well. I really enjoyed their mushrooms, their frog legs and their fried rice. It has a cute decor, they have murals, a "aquarium", ocean decor all around the restaurant, so the name is fitting. Also for a dinner buffet they only charge twenty dollars, which is amazing and they offer discounts for some. So you may ask, why did I give them a 3 and why may I not come back? It's because in the dining room that we were in had a large party. One of the guests in this party was a 4 legged animal that did not have a service vest on, and at one point, they allowed the dog to sit at the table. The staff passed by them multiple times and no one said anything. The dog should not be in the establishment plus the party would pet the dog, and then go get their food, so that is why I probably won't be back. read more

Still a solid 4 stars for what it is. We took the extended family here on the second visit. I got my usual, but made a beeline for the pork buns first. They were great as always, and I appreciate this place has them because no other buffet I've been to has them to offer. We sat in the same room as we did last time, and the staff were all attentive. Worth a mention: I didn't get the seafood. I would suggest that this business give customers a way to crack the shells open. I did see several people struggling to get the crab meat out of the shells. My sister-in-law gave up trying to open hers because she couldn't. Customers, take your own cracking supplies. (ETA UPDATE: someone informed me you can ask the servers for crackers for the shells and they'll give them to you...didn't know that but it's great info for those who need them) read more

There were a lot of options. The hibachi area was pristine and the uncooked meats looked properly housed and fresh. You are given a beeper to let you know when your grill items are ready. This place was super hyped up on social media, so I had pretty high expectations going in. In the spirit of a buffet, we tried lots of different small plates. I will say the variety was impressive, with a lot to choose from. The kitchen staff did a great job keeping everything stocked; I never saw anything running low or sitting empty. The price was reasonable for a seafood buffet, and there are weekday and kids' deals that help keep it affordable. The service was fine. We mostly saw servers when they came by to refill sodas or clear away finished plates. The place was very busy (we waited about 20-30 minutes just to be seated), so service was understandably a bit slower when it came to refills and clearing dishes. What a great find. Stopped in for lunch and they were so busy. They are in a cramped parking lot with alot of speed bumps. I'm so glad we took the suv otherwise we would've had to forget about going through all of those speed bumps. They are so friendly and efficient getting tables cleaned and ready. The food servers were back and forth getting the food restocked. It was good food and they had some dim sum dishes such as chicken feet and hargow there. So surprising! Comparing asian buffets in DFW area, this one is one of the best. The sushi options alone are stand out!!! I really enjoyed the sushi here and I usually never eat the sushi at buffets. They also had steamed buns which I don't usually see at buffets. Such a wide variety of options here. Hibachi is offer in the buffet too. Just so many good options. Hi everyone! With all the hype about the, brand new, Ocean Buffet in Crawley I had to come over and give it a try.... I'm not sure where to start with this review. The entrance to the restaurant is very nicely done. It is pretty and inviting. The buffet selection is quite large with a good variety of offerings. It is safe to say, there is something for everyone here. The buffet is clean, the food fresh and nicely presented. There is a nice selection of sushi. Many Chinese dishes. And your typical buffet desert selections. Sadly, the food itself can vary in taste from mediocre to fairly good. Nothing great. The service is basically just keeping your beverage glass full to picking up your dirty plates. In both cases, they were sorely lacking. Definitely needing improvement. So you might wonder why, with basically a mediocre review above, I gave Ocean Buffet four stars. Simple. The price! An "early bird" senior buffet is only $10.95! It definitely keeps the kids busy looking around though. The AC was on full blast, so I appreciate that during Texas heat. Pretty good variety for different people. Best way to describe the decor is that it looks like a high-end oriental restaurant that you would find in a Las Vegas casino. Bright, airy, inviting. I have been at Ocean Buffet at least 5 or 6 times in the last 4 months and have never been disappointed. It is my "go to" place when I am in the area for lunch. I LOVE the Hibachi ribeye and the steam tables have a good (and very tasty) assortment of both oriental and "American" food. Very broad selections of deserts and the chocolate fountain with bananas and marshmallows is a great way to finish off a meal. (I can't speak to the sushi because I just can't get into sushi, but there appears to be a very attractive and large assortment of it.) It's very distasteful to come in have a great time eating our meal, but everything is displaced whenever, after paying the bill and giving $18 as a tip, the waiter counts tip in front of us and asks for more,will not be returning to this location. Went after church on Sunday it was very busy however we got seated very quickly! The food was fresh however I do not eat seafood or not much meat for that matter (wish they had a lower price for folks like me). The decorations are worth the trip alone! Our waiter was not very good about refills I ask for water for my son as he was walking by and said "Yeah" but still took a moment! They have several servers so not sure of the problem! This is just an average Chinese buffet. We have been twice since they opened. The first visit the food was decent. Everything was hot and being refilled frequently. The Mongolian grill is set up weird with meats and veggies on one side, grill in the middle, seasonings on the other side of that. There is no sign and no direction on how to use the Mongolian so it is chaotic with people standing on top of each other and nobody being able to communicate with the person that is cooking. The second visit was enough to never go back. All of the food was old and chewy. It was a Sunday night and the place was packed but the food still tasted old. We waited nearly 20 mins for a Mongolian to come out burnt. When we were leaving we went to pay at the counter because our waitress never came back. We were asked if the food was good and we said no. He laughed and I said no I'm serious. He called the manager over who begged us to give him another chance and started singing. I found this odd and a bit annoying, however he did try. He took $4 off a $40 bill and gave us a 10% coupon that expires in a month. It was a nice gesture but at $20 a person, we won't return. Everything seems to be at least wiped down frequently but the music is too loud and happy birthday plays every 5 minutes or so. I wouldn't recommend. read more

Attended a Friday lunch for two! Upon entering, the ambiance was really nice, and the staff quickly seated us. They were super attentive and very kind throughout the visit. As for the food, I appreciated that it wasn't overly seasoned, but unfortunately, it did lack flavor overall. I wasn't a big fan of the sushi--it had a bit of a funny taste--so I'd recommend staying away from that. I tried a little bit of everything and, overall, wasn't too impressed. That said, the potstickers, cream cheese rangoons, pork egg rolls, and shrimp boil did not disappoint. It was also pretty cool that they had a chocolate fountain, though I did notice some guests picking up fruits and pastries with their hands before dipping, which wasn't the most hygienic. Walking in, I was really impressed by how beautiful everything looked. It was neat, tidy, and truly captivating. The atmosphere was incredible, especially since it felt like we were inside a submarine. I especially loved the picture of the dolphins. The food was plentiful and always quick to be replenished; there were so many options that even a picky eater would find something they like. One server stood out as particularly wonderful! Lisa kept coming by to refill our drinks, and my dad enjoyed joking with her, which she happily joined in, making us all laugh. The service was genuinely exceptional. read more

They had tons of selection of sushi and they were fresh and looked great. Overall, the quality of other items that I would normally get at an Asian buffet were much better as well. The chicken actually looks like chicken that I would cook in my home instead of something I'm not so sure about. Well went on the weekend and they had a beautiful selection of cold seafood salads, cold and hot seafood, typical Asian buffet offerings, a variety of steamed buns, deserts, chocolate fountains, fruit, a soup bar, hibachi, American cuisine, and much more. The decor is really nice and adds to the vibe. The staff was friendly and helpful. When comparing Asian Buffets, this was a 5 star experience. I seriously doubt the 5-star reviews are real. My family and I waited quite a while (~30 minutes) in line, while one of the managers yelled at a worker in front of us all. "DO YOU WANT TO WORK HERE!" when the young kid (maybe 16) admitted making a mistake, following up with "YOU DON'T MAKE MISTAKES HERE". About 10 minutes later when the manager came back, I stopped him and said "you know people are capturing this for youtube?", he responded nonchalantly, "I don't care", so I responded "You really shouldn't yell at the kid in front of all your customers" as he walked away. Right as our number was called, the manager approached me and apologized (several times). I just felt bad for the kid. Now, while the food selection was pretty good, the overall taste was fairly bad, not terrible, but not good at all. I don't think I'd ever return, not because of the manager specifically, but the food just isn't worth it. The soft drink (Dr. Pepper, or Mr. Pibb) was very watered down, the sushi was like eating paper, the rice was old, kinda like rice that's been left out in the sun all day. The entrance/waiting area is fairly nice for a buffet restaurant, but that's about it. I'd say try it, experience it, and forget it imho. If Ocean Buffet reads this, don't yell at your employees like that in front of everyone, especially kids. read more
