Just awesome! My Gasparilla Krewe booked Ocean Ink for our Knight Parade after party and it couldn't have been better. We arrived to a great seafood buffet of shrimp, lobster, fish dip, and much more. All the food was on point and service was excellent. As a matter of fact, we went back yesterday and had two kinds of oysters, vodka martinis, wine, tuna nachos and all were excellent. This will now be our go to spot when in Ybor. I have been so excited to try this place, and was so disappointed by the service today. I made a reservation for the "chefs counter" and when I arrived was told that the air-conditioning was out I probably didn't wanna sit back there. So I sat at the bar outside, which was fine, except for the fact that the Bartender was overwhelmed and as a result The service was horrible. They have a happy hour menu, but I chose not to order off of it and I ordered the regular shrimp cocktail which came on a plate and each of the shrimp were cut in half? I ordered West Coast oysters and they were warm at Best even though they were on ice, which made me leery to eat them. Based on the fact that I didn't eat the oysters and the shrimp were meh at Best I would've liked to have ordered something else, but was never given the opportunity to. By the time, the Bartender finally came back around and I asked about the taco of the day on the happy hour menu. She informed me the happy hour was over. The happy hour shrimp tacos here were pretty delicious. The bartenders were friendly, accommodating and provided great service. Nothing like catching the breeze on a nice day and enjoying some happy hour specials on 7th Ave in Ybor. I wish I had more time in Ybor to try more of their menu but one thing I can say is they have these amazing fish tacos for 5 dollars during happy hour. I didn't realize grouper tacos was a thing I needed in my life until I came here. Love the smell and the seasoning they put on the fish. Nice and flaky with this amazing spicy/sweet pineapple salsa on top. I thought the prices were also super reasonable considering how high quality the food is here. Came here close to when it first opened and had to come back for their tacos yet again which leave you craving them. The seafood is very fresh and the flavors are on point. The server is also friendly and there is free Wi-Fi. The bar area a little crowded on a Friday evening which is a testament to the fact that the food is so good here but there is also seating on the side as well. read more

Ocean Ink is a fabulous new spot in Ybor City. The place used to be a hookah bar and I can honestly say this is a much better use of the space. When we entered we were greeted and seated right away. We sat in the outside area, but there is also inside seating in the back where the kitchen is. We got lucky because they were having a happy hour special on oysters $1.25 each. The minimum order is 3. We got 15 and boy were they delicious. Also ordered a fish taco, it wasn't very good, but everything else was wonderful. Got some shrimp and they were detained perfecty and still in the shell. Also got the crab Mac n cheese, which wad also quite delicious. Ordered drinks as well and they were good, but can't remember what we ordered. The service was extra good and so was the experience. Had a phenomenal time here and can't wait to return. read more

If you're looking for oysters in Ybor this is the best spot. I enjoyed the food here but I think there are better seafood options in Tampa. Service was fine and the overall vibe of the spot is ok. Would make a good Sunday hangover spot. read more

We were walking around town, hot and thirsty and this is the first place we found open! MJ was our bartender and she was so awesome! I've come here during happy hour a couple times and sat at the bar. It typically isn't very busy, but the service was very slow each time. However, no big deal when the weather is nice and you're enjoying outside seating. The menu is a bit underwhelming when it comes to the options but the things I've tried have all been great. I usually prefer west coast oysters but they had east coast on the happy hour menu and they were much bigger than I expected for the price and they had the perfect bring. My date ordered the ahi tuna nachos and I swear he went back 3 times that same week to order them ago. The sauce on those is amazing. I ordered the crab boil... which is actually a soup. This sounds very ridiculous but it's all the things you'd love about a crab boil, minus the shells and it's swimming in a seafood broth. Delicious! read more

Food and drinks were good. We started with the oysters which were done right - very clean, very cold and served with the right accompaniments. The seasoned crackers were a nice touch. So good, we had a second dozen. The ahi nachos were decent, although I found the sauce to be a bit overpowering with the ahi. The clam chowder was really nice and well seasoned. The star of the show was the Connecticut lobster roll. Perfectly buttery lobster in a delicious toasted bun paired with chips and spicy pickles - yum! They have a nice happy hour each day. Finally an upscale real seafood spot in the heart of Ybor I can't rave enough about the oysters , ahi tuna Tataki and the ahi tuna nachos (who knew lol) Such creative twists on classic seafood dishes . The Key West Shrimp on brioche bread ... man the various local oysters even chips and guacamole ( an unexpected and tasty surprise ) I can go on bout this place , the chef , the staff of and did I mention the amazing "mixologist" . Really great food! Had 24 oysters, conch fritters, key west shrimp roll, fish dip, tuna sandwich, tuna tataki, and the crab Mac and cheese. The shrimp roll was fantastic. I've had so many lobster rolls etc. this was prob the best I've had. The only thing we didn't love were the conch fritters, I've had better I kind of wish we tried the hush puppy! Our meal was OK, but I was expecting more I guess. The menu was slim and it seemed to cater to lunch and didn't really appear to be what we were looking for, but we were there and the service was friendly. Was fun to visit Ybor and see the chickens! I couldn't wait for this place to open, for there to finally be an oyster happy hour in Tampa. I have visited twice now and GOT SICK BOTH TIMES. It is safe to say I don't need to get sick a third time to know I'm not going back. Both times I had the happy hour oysters, along with some of their other dishes, but the common denominator is the oysters. I was wondering if I was the only one this was happening to, but on Google, the people below my review had to go to the ER, I guess I'm not the only one. Thank goodness I didn't have to go to the ER either times, but something is not right with this place that I got sick after each visit. It's really a shame. read more

WOW what a great new place in Ybor. A friend and i tried it just 1 week after opening. The larger dining room may still be under construction but there is a smaller dining room in the back. The front of the restaurant is completely open air, which was a bit challenging on a hot and incredibly humid day, regardless of how many fans they have. Incidentally this could be increased, as it affects the summertime experience. My friend and I sat OUTSIDE since inside, as pleasant as it is, isn't where the life and action is... Phenomenal happy hour pricing and menu. I wish I had taken a photo. But the $6 margaritas and $11 shrimp roll sandwiches (their version of a lobster roll sandwich) were ridiculously tasty and great deals! We'll be back as the weather cools down. read more

This place was absolutely wonderful! From the service to the food! We had a party of 8 for a birthday dinner. We started with the oysters and they were perfect. I am not an avid fan of oysters but these were superb. The Connecticut Lobster role was to die for. The kale slaw and the potato salad were hand made and had quite a unique flavor that was really stood out. The service was a little slow due to the Friday crowd but our server, Tom and the Manager, Melissa made sure we were taken care of. I wanted this place to be good!! Aesthetically it is kind of cool, but that is about it. The service is about what you would get at an Applebees or Chili's. The bartender made us a mocktail and brought it over half full in the glass and said "sorry it usually gets liquor and that's why it's not that full." She then proceeded to add water and then use her bare hands to stir the drink right in front of us. The music was really slow R & B like Mary j. Blige that was really loud and made the vibe weird and uncomfortable, more like a ghetto brunch. We ordered the oysters that are $45 for a dozen ($32 at way nicer restaurants on water street) and literally every single oyster had shell in them. We also got the HH clam chowder that was just a bacon and potato soup and wasn't a happy hour price, it is just a smaller portion. There were other items that we got and honestly everything was all very average. I would not waist your time or money here. The Pearl on water street has way better prices with some of the best service and atmosphere in Tampa. read more
