The people working here are very nice. But last Monday they didn't butter my bagel as requested and it was hard as a rock ( stale). My husband had an egg sandwich with ham. I would get their chicken salad every day! It's a no frills old school grill, but honestly everything was delicious. It's a walk up counter with tables, and then there's also a gift shop, pier access and a little arcade. The arcade is quaint, perfect for going to after you order food (the claw machines are terrible though - weak grabbers). They serve coke products (yay) and also have beer and wine slushies! The older guy who normally accepts payments for parking isn't very friendly at all. The food.. for tenders and under cooked fries with no salt a medium tea will run you 15$ crazy considering at almost any fast food restaurant you'd get quite a bit more food for 15$ and it be just as good if not better.. inside is clean enough, bathrooms are a little gross but not much to be expected right on the beach. Go to literally any other pier, and find another place to eat. Because neither one is worth the money or the time. read more

The food in the grill was great! Served fast and hot! It was fun getting to walk from our hotel down the beach to grab a quick breakfast.

First, the service has improved BEYOND expectation. The young gentleman in there made sure we had everything and anything we needed from food to condiments. He offered to refill our soda and was busy, busy, tending to the messes left behind by less than stellar guests. Amazing service. The food was on point. The chicken salad was amazing, the bacon cheeseburger excellent, but if I'm being honest, the French fries could have been cooked longer and crispy. They were soggy and droopy. Overall though, good stuff. Service, however, best part. Wish I had the gentleman's name. He was fire! Loved that level of service. Also, the gentleman on the fishing/pier side was exceptional. This restaurant reminds me of the feel of a café. We like it and they had a couple of games that entertain the kids and we were satisfied with the food. Atmosphere is OK and the service was good. Walking on the pier is fun and they have a huge game room of Course we weren't interested in but it was pretty massive and an ice cream shop on the end of the restaurant area facility. read more

We had heard that eating lunch at the Pier was very good and it was! We mainly got burgers and hot dogs and fries. All the food was good. My son and I also got a chicken salad sandwich which was highly rated. We are both chicken salad lovers. The chicken salad was good . Maybe not the best I've ever had but certainly it was very tasty. I had my first of many visits this weekend to the Ocean Isle Beach Pier for breakfast. Until this past weekend, I had no idea what I was missing out on! We enjoyed breakfast twice over our visit to the coast and both times, it was so good! Firstly, it seems like one of those places where the locals all go and hope that the tourists don't find out about it. The sweetest ladies work there and we spent a lot of the time chatting with them too. The first morning I ordered a veggie omelet with hash browns and toast. The omelet was huge and full of veggies and cheese. It was cooked perfectly and it was delicious. The next morning, I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit and it was amazingly good! I love chewy bacon and it was cooked just the way I love it! The prices are some of the best on the Island for breakfast and the food is cooked quickly and done right. It is a perfect gem! read more

We had so much fun! I've been to several beaches in North Carolina, this one was much cleaner and family friendly. Parking was very easy to find and it was not hard to get everything on the beach. I got to enjoy this place again at my annual OIB trip this year in July. It's still as good as I remember each trip. With the good crowd that comes in for breakfast time, I'm not alone in this thought. Most everyone in my group likes the bacon (or sausage), egg, and cheese sandwiches. It's good to get for take out back to the beachhouse. If you are staying there for dining, I recommend one of the omelets...mine is usually sausage and cheese. If you are dining in or just waiting for take out, I suggest getting a table near the counter on the end, near the windows so you can watch all the traffic coming off/on the Odell Williamson Bridge and enjoy the view (see pic). For lunch time, can't go wrong with the hamburgers/hot dogs/corn dogs, and great fries. Again, it's not the healthiest or fanciest gig in town, but one of the tastiest and enjoyable. read more

Paid $1 to walk out on the pier (per person). Beautiful view, very nice and peaceful. And the people who work here are so friendly. We walked here from the place we're staying, only a few doors down. Everything around here seems so walkable. Planning on paying to walk on the pier several more times while we're staying here. read more

Paying $$ to walk to the end of a pier is the stupidest thing ever, and that's coming from someone who pays tolls just to get out of this lovely city I live in... That said, go to the beach and walk under it. That's the glorious part. Great photo spot. read more

The only pier on Ocean Isle and $1 to walk it. It's nothing that you haven't seen before and a good spot for fishing. I didn't try the food located at the grill, but if you're in need of water or snacks directly off the beach, this is a convenient spot. The arcade attached to the pier is very run down and I counted five games that were "out of order". Out of the other games, they're rundown and aren't that desirable. Several cheap "claw" games, skee ball & air hockey (both broken on my visit), fuzzball and a couple pool tables. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to venture here, but honestly, there's not much directly in Ocean Isle, so you will probably find your way here at least once, if only to get a Sunset Slush located at the end of the building. As far as arcades, I'd recommend going next door to Breakers, much better selection and entertainment for the beach arcade. Also, NO BATHROOMS here unless you you pay $1 to go out to the pier. Little hint though, Breakers Arcade next door has free bathrooms! read more

Holy awesome night fishing!! I saw some kids catching 3 foot sharks at 10 PM! What a sight during one night's stroll! Access is cheap and it's not crowded like other piers. Good way to spend a day/night if you wanna fish but don't want to shell out $100+ to fish at Calabash down the road. read more

Great staff. Prices are a little steep but they are for all day and no one bothers you. Its easy to sit out on the pier all day and just enjoy yourself and if you want to make conversation, people are pretty friendly. They make repairs every year and I have to say it stays in great shape. There are also bathrooms on the pier that are always extremely clean. It really impresses me! There are cutting boards, benches, and a sink area. The end of the pier is king-fishing only and this season they added a little "boundary wall" to designate the end of the pier. Very well lit at night and they are open pretty late during the season. You can buy snacks, pizza, and ice cream inside. You can also rent equipment. The passes are weekly, seasonal, or daily. And the pricing is per pole. I think the price to just walk out is ONLY a dollar, but its worth it for a lovely view and experience. read more

The unfortunate part was that it took a while for us to get our food - my family and I were getting restless, and we could tell other groups in the restaurant had been waiting for a while to get their food as well. You can have a real home-cooked breakfast cooked by friendly Southern ladies, then enjoy strolling along the fishing pier, and they also serve throughout the day. It was $5 for all day parking until 10pm. The pier was also open until 10pm and it's $1 to walk on the pier. It's primarily a fishing pier but it didn't seem overly crowded, even with people walking around. Dogs are allowed on leash here during certain months, and this is a great place to park and go on the beach for that. You cannot take dogs on the pier. They were fine with me bringing the dog in while I paid for parking. Nice people working the desk and parking! Didn't try the food. Great location. read more

It's slightly under seasoned, but somehow, still flavorful. It's not 5 stars by any means, but it's passable. Service - 3/10 Not service worthy of a 20% tip. The people seem bored to death and look like they don't want to be there. It's relatively slower service. It's not so bad I wouldn't tip, but nowhere near the best. read more

Be aware hash browns are simply a patty like you can get a McDonalds, served fresh from the fryer so it burns a whole in your plate. You order from the counter and clear your own place.
