    Veggie Omelette with hash browns

The people who work here are so friendly and helpful! They were always moving, but smiling and chatty. My husband had eggs and grits and I had a veggie omelette - both dishes were very good and came out quickly. The prices are very economical. The decor is a little rough (the booth seat could use a coat of paint), but we were on an ocean pier so it really wasn't a problem.

I would get their chicken salad every day! It's a no frills old school grill, but honestly everything was delicious. It's a walk up counter with tables, and then there's also a gift shop, pier access and a little arcade. The arcade is quaint, perfect for going to after you order food (the claw machines are terrible though - weak grabbers). They serve coke products (yay) and also have beer and wine slushies! This is a good breakfast and lunch spot!

Everything was great except the bugs spray off before you go. Food and staff were awesome.

We love going to OIB pier. Grab a couple of beers and sit on the back patio and listen to the waves. Everyone is so nice and their food is wonderful and very inexpensive. One of our new favorite places to go

We had so much fun! I've been to several beaches in North Carolina, this one was much cleaner and family friendly. Parking was very easy to find and it was not hard to get everything on the beach. People were socially distant. Several food options nearby and friendly folks in the area. One of my tops for sure!

Great place to visit, really nice arcade, restaurant, and gift shop. My husband and I come to fish off this pier almost every year. Everyone's always so friendly! They have rod rentals that include you fishing license while on the pier and unlimited tackle.

The food in the grill was great! Served fast and hot! It was fun getting to walk from our hotel down the beach to grab a quick breakfast.

This is the cheapest meal we had on vacation. Good bacon, well salted grits, and my kids ate all their pancakes. I can't ask for much more!

The avocado toast, the veggie breakfast burrito, the coffee cake, the smoothies, and the iced black amber are my go to's and they never miss. The service is quick, even though I know they get crazy busy during the summer. As someone who understands service/cafe biz, I will always give leniency to workers who are busting it during high volume seasons. The people who don't understand that a wait will be expected when you have one good coffee shop on an island that hosts thousands of people every summer are dense. Be kinder to your service workers, people. The most recent time I visited Drift, I was excited to try the Acai bowl. After I ordered, I was told that unfortunately they were out of Acai. They refunded my money and I ordered a smoothie instead. I was ready to pay for my smoothie when the employee told me the smoothie was on the house since they were out of Acai. Great customer service. I've been visiting Ocean Isle since there were rinky-dink water slides in operation across from what is now Drift. It's been wonderful to see a successful, quality coffee shop on the island.

Mr. And I both ordered the market bowl. Quinoa, sweet potatoes, avocado, tomato, and a spring mix w a fried egg on top. It was beautiful! Then we bit into it. The sweet potato was barely on the brink of being frozen. The Quinoa was also cold...not just room temperature, but ice-cold! Avocado was way too cold as well. So, you can imagine what this did to the beautifully cooked egg... yep - turned it cold in a heartbeat. Really off-putting to bit into. Mr. went back inside and asked if they had a microwave to heat it up and the 'workers' just said that was they way it was supposed to be. Mr. tossed the entire thing in the trash and simply said "well, it's disgusting". You would think there would be a simple offer to heat it up, or some kind of remedy for the situation. They didn't give a crap. I'm pretty sure they flipped us the bird on the way out. Nice.

We were served by the owner, Nick, who made the visit even better with great hospitality. I had the Apple Butter Biscuit Bottom, and everything was cooked perfectly. The biscuit was crisp on the outside but still soft on the inside, the bacon was cooked just right, and the eggs were perfectly fried hard. The apple butter was amazing and really brought the whole dish together. My wife had the Awakened Bacon Filet Sandwich, and it was also cooked perfectly. The steak was a perfect medium well with just the right amount of pink, and the flavors worked really well together. I also tried the Blackberry Bramble Mimosa, and it was mixed perfectly. It had great flavor and was still nice and strong. Overall, Toasted was a great spot with great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

This Thursday I was heading up with the wife to buy some fish and we decided to go for it. Of course there was zero parking with a parade of cars in the parking lot waiting to pick up food, when my wife noticed a pick up truck right in front of the place about to exit. She sped right next to the spot and jumped in before anyone realized it. We're in...or so I thought. We strolled up and there were about 35 people sitting on benches and rocking chairs under a tent right in front of the place all waiting to get in. I figured this is not going to be easy. I went up to the hostess station and asked how long for a table for two and she said 35 minutes or so. I looked at my wife and gave her my name. I had to find out what all the hub bub was about. In about 30 minutes they shouted my name and I sprinted to the front door...I wasn't about to lose my table. In we went and we're shown a nice size table in the middle of the place. It kinda reminded me of a beachy mom and pop diner. The friendly waitress came to the table right away, gave us our menus, showed us the specials board and took a drink order. The menu was simple but had some choices on it. While we were thinking, she came back with our drinks and we quickly ordered an appetizer. In this case, onion rings. A few minutes later my wife settled on a crab cake app and a salad which she asked to be combined. I went for the soup of the day(NE clam chowder) and one of the specials...pork chops(I took my grilled not fried) with 3 sides, Lima beans, okra & tomatoes stewed and green beans. The meal came with a choice of cornbread or roll. I opted for the cornbread. In a flash, the onion rings came out followed by the soup. Now I do love me some onion rings and these were fantastic. Crispy, flavorful and not stringy. The soup was home made. Creamy with bits of clam and chunks of potato. No salt or pepper was needed as it came out steaming hot and perfect. It was a meal in itself and I ended up taking 3/4 home with me(something rarely do). After a few minutes, the main course came out. My wife dug into a very large homemade crab cake, chock full of crab meat and very flavorful. She loved it. The salad was fresh and crisp. My pork chops came out and the size of the plate shocked me. Now, I almost never talk about price but my plate was $12.49 and I got two large perfectly prepared, juicy pork chops with a healthy helping of the best okra and stewed tomatoes I ever had plus absolutely delicious green beans and tasty lima beans. What a deal! The only thing that wasn't above average was the corn bread which was a tad dry and plain. Most of the regulars opted for the home made roll(and the fried chicken which was being served at every table!). I was stuffed and had trouble finishing my plate. My wife who said she was full, managed to save enough room for dessert. Now everyone was eating the homemade peach cobbler so I suggested that. My wife never had it before and was thinking about the Oreo pie, but I persuaded her and she was glad I did. Instead of the usual whip cream she wanted vanilla ice cream with it and it was a fantastic combo. The cobbler came out piping hot and crumbly with sweet chunks of peaches that paired well with the cold vanilla ice cream. She attacked it so fast that I couldn't get a picture. I broke my own rules and dipped in for a few spoonfuls and I'm glad I did. It was heavenly. The bill came and I couldn't believe how reasonable it was. Now I know why you can't get into the joint. We paid our bill and gave the super friendly waitress a nice tip and were on our way. We will absolutely be back and will try to time it a bit better so we can find parking...or we'll take an Uber...it was that good.
