Like a sherpa helping me trek the heights of my fears, anxieties, and insecurities, she's guided me to the summit where I stared my neuroses face down. She helped me to recognize that I didn't need my ex, but was transferring fears of male abandonment from my father dying when I was young. To stop bemoaning what I don't have and focus on what I do have -- which is a lot. She's given me the confidence to find a great job with more responsibility and to cut off the negative elements in my life.
