I ride a 1998 American Eagle STM-C Chopper that I've owned since new. Its 96 cubic inch S&S engine had started puking oil on every start, so I took it to a local shop that kept it for 6 weeks and charged me a fortune, only to get it home and have it do the same thing. I contacted the local Harley dealer and they said - "yeah - that shop has problems - go to Oceana Cycles if you want a knowledgeable mechanic." So I did. Steve at Oceana Cycles took one look at my engine and knew the other shop had gone down the wrong track by trying to repair my oil pump. He started the engine, saw oil leak and knew he was right since it had been running 20 minutes earlier. He started it the next morning and it puked all over the shop. He diagnosed a clogged fuel overflow tube, rebuilt the carb and replaced the clogged tube by the day after, and I picked it up running like a top for a reasonable fee. Called Oceana Cycles and spoke with Trey, asked if he could service my 2002 Honda VTX R 1800. Needed my brakes adjusted fluids changed and new tires. It took a while to get to me but once they did they did an outstanding job. New tires felt great on the road. BAR INSTALL.....Took a bit longer than expected but with covid no one wants to work. Only 2-3 people on staff that i know of so the wait time can't be criticized. Once the work started i was updated fully on the progress only small delays mainly because my wrong doing on the cables i purchased on line. Which Trey and his employee worked around quickly for me. I took my 2017 Street Glide Special in this morning for a new air cleaner and a dyno tune. I got there by 9:30 and Trey and his staff were waiting for me. It was a 2 hour ride from the Outer Banks of NC where I live, and worth every second. they got me all taken care of and on my way by lunchtime. My bike now makes 133HP and 151FTLB of torque. I am completely in awe with the amount of power it has! Steve is a wizard on the dyno! The customer service was second to none, and the price was extremely fair. I highly recommend this shop. I recently moved to NC from New Jersey, and wasn't sure where to go to get work done. I found my new go to Indy shop. I'm a customer for life! read more

Nice Guys, But Lo-Tech If you need a wrench turned on your bike, maybe a tire or battery replaced, some welding done or perhaps a carburetor rebuilt on an old bike, these are your guys. But if your repair requires any kind of computerized equipment, be careful. I brought my 2018 Softail Slim in to have some Vance and Hines exhaust pipes installed and paid for a Dynojet Power Vision tune (they sold me a license). Within minutes of leaving, the engine light came on indicating a problem with the O2 sensor. Additionally, the bike was not running smoothly. On a subsequent Harley Owners Group ride, other riders, having simply heard the engine, were asking what was wrong with my bike. I brought the bike back to Oceana at least 3 times, and each time they said they tweaked the tune and that the engine light no longer came on when they rode it. Each time I left, the engine light would come on within 2-3 minutes. Oceana began to assert that the engine light coming on was probably because of the way I was driving. Fed up with wasting so much of my time bringing the bike back to Oceana AND not getting the problem fixed, I took it to Precision Cycles and they immediately determined that the air/fuel ratio was horribly out of tune (see attached). Precision Cycles tuned the bike using their Dynojet dynamometer (high-tech equipment that Oceana does not have) and replaced the 02 sensor. I was referred to Oceana Cycles by a friend. I wanted new pipes installed, dyno-tuned and a set of saddlebags installed. Upon first meeting Trey and a couple of other employees, they were professional, knowledgeable and polite. Today i picked my bike up. I love the way the saddlebags and pipes look. The new Cobra pipes sound perfect: not obnoxious but not timid either. As I was riding my bike home, I couldn't believe the difference in the response and even the handling was so much better. I chose oceana cycles to purchase slip ons as they were one of three distributors for Khroke werks in the area. when i called on Tuesday and ordered the pipes, I was told they would be here in two days and I was giddy as a child! I was quoted a price of $550 over the phone and given the option to pay when I pick the pipes up, "as long as you don't stick me with them". At this point I was very happy, I believed this shop to be a good hometown shop. I arrived to pick up the pipes and was immediately charged $630. I notified the cashier I was quoted $550 and he told me he generally works in the back and would call the fella often times working the front of the shop with the cashier. After a minute or so on the phone, he got off and said it was written down but he missed it. at this point I was relieved, believing there would be no issue. "How about $583?"
