I was so impressed by this immaculate and inviting market on my first visit a few weeks ago that I planned this past weekend's errands around it so that I could return as soon as possible. On this second trip I made sure to go up and down each aisle so that I could ooh and aah at all the fun, interesting, and tempting things. They carry an impressive array of imported items in various spots around the store, as well as a great selection of plant-based products. There are over three aisles of pet supplies, and an adjacent area with gifts, party supplies, and pretty things for the home. You could easily pull together a fabulous hostess (or any) gift in a single stop. The primary reason for my return visit, though, was the produce. Everything is so fresh and beautiful and displayed with obvious care. Although the store as a whole could potentially be a bit too pricey for my weekly big shopping, there are certain things that are actually less expensive here than at Safeway. One example right now would be their perfectly sweet, dark cherries, which are dollars less per pound than Safeway's. However, if I need canned beans and paper products, Safeway will be the more economical option. I foresee Oceana forming a triad with Trader Joe's and Safeway to cover all my shopping needs, with Oceana being the first stop for that perfect produce. read more

An interesting and super posh store, where I could find a small bag of authentic imported Swedish fish in Elderberry flavor for $7.99, but also get a breakfast burrito and reasonably priced can of cold Diet Coke ($1.29). Bought all three, plus gluten-free Hobnobs imported from Ireland (8 biscuits for $8.99, oof, but bought 'em) and a slice of pumpkin bread for $5.79! So the prices are high, but the selection is so unique and fun. Plus you can buy normal food like a can of soup or a box of cereal. Some staff said hi, others didn't really indicate that they saw me or engaged when I said 'hello' and 'thank you' but overall the vibe was pleasant. Clean, organized. What an absolutely gorgeous store! I loved Oceana Market so much, I visited twice in my short Pacifica vacation. Compare this place to a Whole Foods or a Sprouts- but somehow better? They have a hot bar, a beautiful deli, delicious house made desserts, and absolutely insane beer selection, and so much more. The deli workers, stockers, and cashiers were all incredibly friendly and helpful. My favorite purchases from here included some gourmet cheeses from their large fresh cheese selection, the scrumptious cakes and pastries including the Carrot Cake Bar, and a wonderful sour barrel aged beer. I would certainly be broke if I lived too close to this store, not to say the prices are high, they're just right on most items, but there is so much selection! If you're in Pacifica, ditch the Safeway and the Grocery Outlet or any other market, spend a bit extra and enjoy the quality experience you get here at Oceana market! read more

Some things that really stood out to me here were the deli counter. Seriously one of the nicest deli counters I've seen. So many options including both the typical cuts of beef, chicken and seafood and more specialty items like rabbit, venison, and veal. As my cheese consumption has been a bit out of control lately I had to forgo the cheese counter, but there was a wide selection there, as well as free samples. The wine section is also very solid. It was well organized and I was pleasantly surprised to see some varieties of wine that I'm usually hard pressed to find in typical super markets. Staff members were quite helpful and knowledgeable, at the deli, wine, and health sections. (Yes, I'm needy) All in all a very solid shopping experience. It's giving Whole Foods pre-Amazon buy-out vibes! There's a markup, but comes with the aesthetic. Cute gift section and beauty section for last minute gifts for coastal granola friends. Cheese and desserts selection are yummy. Lots of interesting little niche brands like fluoride free, lead free kids toothpaste (lookup lead toothpaste study by leadfreemama), and random chips. Cute grocery store, probably one of my favorites! The aisles are well stocked, had an abundance of celiac-safe food products. Produce is fresh and of great quality too! A staff member heard me comment on their selection of chips, and even offered to take note of which ones I liked so they could stock it for next time! This is a nice little neighborhood market that feels like a small Whole Foods. They stock some specialty items and harder to find items that you don't usually find at your average Safeway. Yes, the prices are higher than Safeway. However this market is not much different from Whole Foods; Oceana offers many similar unique and high quality items you'd find at Whole Foods. The staff is the difference here. They're more friendly here than the ones at Whole Foods. The bakery department is my favorite. This is where I come to pick up Palo Alto Baking Company tarts. There's a nice wine and cheese selection, too. Stop by here when you're building your charcuterie board. Parking is never a problem at this location. read more

This market was pretty cool, they had a lot of unique items Ive been looking for. We cane here to visit my wife's cousins and they found onion-free salsa because I have an allium allergy. I bought every one I could find. The market building itself was a bit weird, there was no sign and i had no idea it was a market if not for our cousins m. Still they had a nice wine selection, lots of cool cheese, crumpets which were locally made, and of course the salsa. Will come again when in area. read more

First just let me say that I am still so thankful to have this awesome market in our coastal community. I'm wondering what is going on with the hot table . The menu has been recently changed but the table rarely matches the menu. One example. Menu states that Turkey, gravy , and mashed potatoes available on Sundays ( no more stuffing , SAD ). We planned on having it for Sunday night dinner so drove over there only to find that said items were not on the table . Staff had no clue why and in fact didn't know that said items were supposed to be offered. Hope that they can pull it together please . On a happier note , compostable produce bags are back . Just don't get their mayo-based salads. Shrimp salad was so over-salted, and the sesame noodle salad was over-seasoned and soggy when I got it at noon. Both were about half mayonnaise, really lousy. Coming home we stopped at the Oceana Market to re-fuel. They had no hummus for sandwiches which was a bummer and no tofu and no tempeh for sandwiches. So basically only vegan sandwich option was avocado, mustard or veggies which would have been boring. I opted to get some items from the cold bar. Dolma, Vegan Kale Waldorf salad, and tasty tofu farfalle aka pasta, tofu, veggies, and peanut butter. All in all was quite alright and perhaps better than a sandwich. The hot bar has had the worse decline. For some reason, I can not determine, the quality and choice is gone. That's not to say it can't have good day now and then if you are lucky. I suspect someone else is in charge of the choices and prep. I can't take it anymore. I have written management over the last year. But the are still failing and I don't like saying this. I still love the store overall, but the food bar has lost it's appeal and quality. I love coming here to shop and browse also becuase they have some items that other grocery stores like Safeway don't have. I also like the feel of the grocery store and how the lighting doesn't feel as harsh. They have a great deli department where my family has ordered whole meals to go for the holidays and their employees are always helpful to answer any questions that we might have. They also have great bakery items that you can purchase by slice or as a whole cake. The only downside is that I have tried twice to get cash out of the ATM that they have in the store and it was not working both times probably just a coincidence. read more

My experiences with this store have always been above standard,until now. I'm a EBT card holder. As I was paying for my groceries realized I didn't have enough $ to pay for the nonfood items. This began a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! The cashier was unclear how to take off those items without having to run my card again. Then out of no where the male cashier ,very loudly, is explaining how to do it. Then he said it would go back on my card instantly. It didn't almost 4 days later nothing . Juan Carlos, the manager is unprofessional and improperly trained on how to approach disabled people and our service animals. Ask if they are a service dog, don't assume and say "we don't allow pets." My dog, despite my being very frustrated by this ableist, ignorant man was calm, quiet, didn't jump, pull or bark. I had my child with me. I have a neurological disorder that brings muscle weakness, fatigue, brain fog and comes with Crohns, among other issues. Stop demonizing people with "invisible illnesses" who don't look disabled enough for you. He didn't like my well deserved tone when I told him that isn't how you ask How dare I correct you. I'm incredibly embarrassed and upset this is how a much older person in a mangerment position thinks to approach disabled people and our companions. I'm a tenured dog trainer additionally, I have a right to train my 8 month old service dog, I don't legally need a vest that anyone can buy. There are also no breed restrictions for service animals, I can tell my dog being a black Doberman around 70 pounds was a factor in this person's mind, I can feel the bias and prejudiced projection. In the 4 months I've had him, of the many stores, restaurants, cafés and pharmacies I've brought him to assist me or do an exercise, this is the only person to force me to leave, because he didn't like that I affirmed and asserted myself. Disabled people are tired. He tampered with an important training exercise and errand. They denied me my right to access. This place needs sensitivity training, an ADA fine and a new manager. I shop here whenever we visit, but will never come here again. This place is unsafe for disabled people, and this manager, Juan Carlos is clearly misogynistic and hates disabled people who stand our ground. Disabled people don't deserve to be tone policed or owe you politeness when you clearly lack professionalism or proper training on our matters. You were very rude, Juan. Learn how to ask people questions instead of assuming, accusing and embarassing us in public. I hope your ignorance and incompetence doesn't cause others to suffer. I will be filing a claim against this store asap. I left in tears in front of my kid. After having a horrific experience with Columbo's Deli, we were at Oceana Market and tried their deli sandwiches! Not only were they fantastically delish but they were not as expensive! I'm a fan of coming to small business grocery stores every once in a while because there is a whole treasure trove of grocery items you can get here that you can't find at your typical mainstream grocery chains. For instance, they have beef tallow and pork lard available and you can select a specific amount to purchase. They also have a separate curing fridge for different cuts of meat you can choose from which is super cool. I got caught up in their ready to eat section and even though I hadn't been planning to get anything, I walked out with a keto cookie, some chocolate cheesecake bites, a california roll, and a microwavable chipotle chicken pasta dish.
