Pass!! 100% pass- Had my trucks wheel bearing go out once I brought it to them was charged $1,000 parts and labor less then 5 month same wheel bearing went bad I contacted them they stated at that time not the first time that the repairs on my truck had no warranty because it was a lifted truck and cause more stress on parts but they will warranty it this one time - 2 month later same wheel bearing brakes, ruins rotor, brake pad and a tow bill- at this point I'm curious what in the world is going on with the same wheel so I decided to take it apart myself to find a precision wheel bearing installed $60.00 part totally makes sense now, inexpensive parts break sooner.. Why wouldn't they the shop give me the option from the beginning to spend more money for a better quality part that would last longer like the OEM part??? I'm assuming because more profit for the shop, ‍... Give your customer that option before installing cheap parts on their cars and tell them upfront about the warranty if any - Wouldn't recommend not saying they are shady but definitely poor communication, poor workmanship, poor quality work, and price gauging for sure- $1,000 for a $60.00 parts and a couple of hours if that to install.. smh !!!. Stay away or go to dealership... Will not recommend!!.. read more

If you read back several reviews (1 star for Oceanside Tire), you'll see I got a new battery in February and the battery died this week. AAA came out, said the alternator and starter were fine (again), and put in another battery. Two days later, my car was totally dead- the door locks wouldn't work with the key fob, there was not a single light working or sound to be heard. This place was recommended to me by a friend; I had my car towed over in the morning and by early afternoon, it was done! The diagnostic tests costed more than the part and actual labor. Apparently it was a parasitic drain on the relay; the A/C was running even when my car was off, killing the battery. Overall, I am very happy with this place, and I think I found my new repair shop. They also do oil changes and smog tests, which seems great because if your car doesn't pass, it can stay here to be fixed. No pros and cons section; I will update as I have more experience here. And honestly, I hope I don't come back anytime soon. read more

Although past work has been exceptional, I am dissapointed with my latest repairs. My vehichle has a screech noise at the end of start. I brought it in for another repair and was advised to wait before replacing starter. After some time the noise continued intermittenly . I took back in and was advised i needed to replace the starter, i spent over $700 and after 2 weeks the noise started again. I called them and was told maybe i got a diffective starter and to try and record the noise for next time. Why would a shop install a deffective starter and further more why would they tell the customer this. I was told it was a factory part. If the replacement didnt fix the issue, why did they have me replace it, this issue was brought up on more than one visit but they cant find it. Thats quite a bit of money that may not have been needed. read more

But today was an amazing experience - my tire blew on my way into work and I was so stressed. Five stars across-the-board. We traveled 4.5 hours from our home on the Central Coast to Oceanside to have an RV that we were looking at to buy to be inspected prior to purchase. Went to get my truck smog checked to transfer the registration over from a different state. After doing a visual check and seeing that I have an aftermarket intake (Which apparently isn't street legal in California) I was still charged for running a test. Once you see that it isn't going to pass because of a state law, how do you still charge someone $50? Yea I definitely got screwed! read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We have been going to this place for many years, thinking we were getting good service. Until we noticed, we kept having to take our car for the same thing over and over again after they claimed it was fixed. Today, Oceanside Imports really messed up big time. We took our car for one small mechanical fix, for them to make our car UNDRIVABLE!!!!!!! Our car is a lowrider so before even then looking at it, we unplugged the low rider switches, because we were going in for a whole different issue, the lowrider switches did not need to be touched. Instead, they were plugged in and got tampered with!!!! The workers FRIED the whole system and denied everything. THIS COULDNT OF HAPPEN IF NOONE TOUCHED THE SWITCHES!!!! We had to tow our car to our house costing us money out of pocket to fix the whole new issue that wasn't even an issue before Oceanside Imports touched the car. This is unacceptable, very unprofessional, and I highly recommend that you DO NOT take your car to this place. So, I failed my Smog test at a shop down the street, went to OReileys to ask for advise and buy some stuff. The guy recommended Oceanside Imports. I immediately met Joel, who was as nice as can be. The topic of me being a Military Veteran came up and turns out he's also a Vet. He said he'd take 20 bucks off my Diagnostic fee and get my car to pass the free retest. This place deserves 0 stars. I actually had to get the BBB on them. I took my car to them and they stuck the diagnostics machine in my car and charged $100 just to diagnose my car. Then they supposedly fixed my car as soon as I got to the first light my car started shaking really bad so i turned around took it back and they had the nerve to tell me it would be another $100 to diagnose my car. They clearly did something to my car for I would bring it back. I called the BBB on them. Yesterday I drove by Oceanside Imports and I noticed it's not there anymore it's now a tire shop I wasn't surprised at all that they are now gone. read more

This Family operated repair shop was able to take me the next day Was told by another shop the wait was up to a week before I can get in. They diagnosed the problems within an hour. Ricardo was Very Professional and called me right away with his findings . He gave me a quote and his plan of action to correct the a few things he found causing the issues. I knew I was also in need of an oil change which was done for me. I was thrilled when he called me back to tell me that he had her all fixed and running perfectly again! Last honest mechanic! I had been told at three different locations my alternator was gonna go out and I needed a bunch of other work. First at the dealer when I went for a safety recall then when I got new tires then an oil change somewhere else. I came here and they inspected it for free only saw my water pump was leaking and replaced that. They saved all the parts without me asking and showed us. These guys didn't know where to begin with how to smog my VW VANAGON they had it on/off for a couple of weeks. This van drove in on 4 cylinders and driving great. At one point they even had us pick-up and take to a transmission shop ( which I knew was fine) took back to Oceanside Imports & VW and they proceeded to do a unessesary tune-up on it, charged me ALOT of $$$ and after messing around with things it passed smog and I picked up the van and it barely drove a few miles home. I had the van towed to my real mechanic where he told me it was barely running on 3 cylinders. So it cost me more $$$ to undo what they did. read more

I have taken both of my cars there for the past 8 months. They truly care. Joel is the guy I worked with the most and I give it 10 stars. They never made me feel unwelcome and I truly trust that shop. As long as I am in San Diego area, I will ONLY go to them. Bonus, they even let me ship parts and random things to their shop and they had no problem with it. If they fix it and my truck still acts up soon after, Joel always tells me bring it back we'll see what else is wrong.. never the less.. I drove one vehicle from Cali to Georgia after they fixed it up and it ran like a brand new car.. with 230k miles and another one is as good as it gets. They are absolutely the best, maybe there is better out there but once you find a shop that you feel like a part of family when you're there.. I don't care if there is better, this one is absolutely great, family owned, polite, and professional and most of all.. FAIR.. how often can you say that about car mechanic shop?!
