Saw groups and couples…read morewaiting, walked by the gorgeous food, and the most important: I could smell how amazing the food was. So on my last night in Berlin, I planned on coming here. I messaged on their WhatsApp to see if I could get a reservation, and nope! So I made the 45-minute trek with fingers crossed that I could get a table. I arrived, and they laughed me off. They had 2 huge parties of 12 & 20+ ppl. I showed them my WhatsApp convo, and suddenly they told me to wait! After only a few moments, a table motioned me over as they were leaving. So I got very lucky TWICE in trying to enjoy in this fantastic place! My server Federica was so helpful in recommending a dish, and wine pairing. I found out that like her, all the staff (except one cook) were Italian. It shows! Since I do not eat beef or pork, Federica recommended a dish with eggplant and tomato sauce (Norma). I prefer fat noodles, so I ordered the pappardelle. I was in love from bite 1!!! This was by far the best pasta meal I have EVER had (no, haven't been to Italy). But I've been all over the world and this was fantastic. I asked the manager if it was made with duram semolina, and was told no, just flour. I beg to differ, based on what I tasted & mouth-felt. Highly recommend!!! PS If you cannot get a table, they do take-away!

We were traveling from Seattle, WA USA and had limited German (and Italian) and the owner (?) and waiter were absolutely amazing. They made us feel so welcome. Dinner was delicious. Our son rated it with 4 million, 218 stars. Yelp will only let us do 5... though it obviously was a hit since we came back on our last night here. We had mainly the Spaghetti Bolognese, Calzones, and Tortellini. All were perfect. We highly recommended La Fontana, not only for the meal, but because the atmosphere and the people made it special.
