As a comedian, my expectations were simultaneously low and high, and the National Comedy Center truly excelled all of them. I spent 3 hrs here and it wasn't enough. I'd spend all day here if I could.

The building has gone through a few name changes but in 1989 Lucille Ball gave the theater the honor of naming it after her. The theater is an actual working theater with various shows held throughout the year. Since the building was locked I was unable to go in and look inside but I noticed their Broadway lineup and it appears that they do put on good shows. The front of the building Is impressive and would be a fitting tribute for the queen of comedy. Located not far from the Lucy Desi museum in Jamestown, it is worth a visit just to see it.

Setting: The theater is comfortable (sometimes you will find that, in theaters, the seats are too small or there isn't enough leg room), and really no seat is a bad one, since the theater is relatively small. Shows: The performances are great. We once attended a show where one of the actresses missed a performance (due to hospital emergency) and I wasn't able to tell who was replacing her until the end of the show! (side note: they had offered a refund, a ticket to another show, or for us to enjoy the show with a replacement) I enjoy the Christmas plays and the interactive plays the most. They have an art club, host comedy shows, and every genre of music that the local scene and promotors can offer. Bobby J is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet, and is very accommodating. The main stage boasts the best sound system in Erie, with an array of seriously competent sound engineers to tie it all together. With their recent partnership with Voodoo brewery, they will be able to offer beer sales during shows, with it still remaining all ages! Finally- we have caught up with Ohio lol Never thought I'd say that. If you're in a band, however, don't expect to make any money performing here, unless you're touring or the host of the show, as margins tend to be very thin sometimes. Not a deal breaker for us at all, though! There is off street parking available but it is like a half block away. It's free though so that's nice.

I had four drinks and every one of them was just as good - and perfectly mixed - as the one before it! Couple all of this with being able to have a cigar during my lunch, and I'm in MY world!
