Oh My Crab took over the old Angry Crab location, the place that basically started the whole spicy seafood-in-a-bag craze. I was curious if it would hold up, and it didn't disappoint. They renovated the interior, gone are the signatures all over the walls, now it's greenery and posters. Menu's pretty much the same, but the taste has its own spin. We always get the combo flavor (signature sauce, medium spice) with corn and sausage, and pair the bag with the garlicky spaghetti, it was so good. They give you plastic bib + gloves if you don't want to get messy. The cornbread was amazing too so don't miss it. And it's BYOB, so we brought a cold bottle of white. Highly recommend. read more

We recently went here for a birthday dinner and we're very happy with the results. The ambiance of the restaurant is actually very nice. I love the fact that this place is BYOB. We've been to quite a few crab houses and what we really liked about this one is that the flavors did not feel overly oily. You could mix all three flavors and it's actually really delicious. A lot of their food is very fresh. The servers were very kind. We actually brought a birthday cake to celebrate our mother's birthday. They were nice enough to put a birthday song on the PA speaker when they brought out the cake. It was a very nice touch. Yelpers -- you all need to try this one! They've been open a little over a year. They are the only seafood boil spot I could find that took reservations. I came with my extended family of 8 people for an early Father's Day dinner. The food was FANTASTIC and they had something on the menu for everyone. I got a shrimp basket, chicken tenders basket, and garlic noodles for my kids. The garlic noodles are so delicious! A must try. My husband and I shared the "oh my family pack" which came with 2 lobster tails, shrimp, mussels, snow crab, corn, potatoes, sausage, and steamed rice on the side. Tip: We also added boiled eggs! This meal could easily feed 3-4 people. I ended up taking some home. They have 3 different flavors and 4 spice levels to choose from. The whole family enjoyed their meals and were very content and full! The staff were super friendly and patient with us. They kept the restaurant maintained and very clean. New seafood boil and they're still working out the kinks. The place looks great. Clean, tidy and designed with IG picture takers in mind. The spot is smaller than the seafood boil they replaced. The feel. Still, with the types of tables they offer they can easily accommodate larger groups. Although their reviews glow with many stars, on nights when they get close to full bookings they have a hard time trying to keep up with demand. I checked them out one weekday evening recently. I tried calling to get an idea of their menu but there was no answer. Decided instead to place an order online. Despite the suggested times for my carryout order they still needed an additional fifteen minutes for preparation to leave. Ended up being twenty. I could see they didn't have enough employees to work the shift appropriately. A very large party was seated with everyone readied. All were ready to dig in. Problem however, no food in sight. Many tables were occupied with diners at different stages of their evening. Only two waiters and one of two had to manage the phones, counter and carryout orders. Crazy. A family sent their kid up to the counter I think hoping to bypass the long wait for a waiter to retrieve their bill. I could read the faces of a few tables, exasperation of not being able to flag down anyone because employees were constantly running back and forth. With all that going on, I ultimately received my order and returned home. The food was alright. Ordered the family pack plus an extra tail. (BTW, I don't recommend the grilled lobster. Which lacked seasoning and whether grilled or in the bag, all were so small) The preparation and boxing are professional looking. Portion of what we ordered wasn't enough for the trio. Just enough to feed us but an extra order of shrimp or sides would have rounded out the order. Once more reviews are posted and or they've been at it through the busier seasons, I'll come back around to try them again. read more

"Oh My" is right! My 90 year old father has been on a Lobster kick lately. We've been going to Red Lobster repeatedly but today was a damp rainy day. I decided to do pick up. I was dreading the drive to Skokie so I searched where I could get lobster in the neighborhood. I found OMC and am so glad I stopped in. I did take out. The $88 Family Pack included 2 lobsters which individually would be $20 each. It came with medley of crab legs, shrimp, clams, sausage, corn, and potatoes swimming in a garlic butter sauce. So incredibly delicious!!!!! I went with their recommendation to get the mix of 3 sauces. We enjoyed the meal so much! The garlicky butter sauce paired with our own homemade steamed rice was like manna from heaven! Dad was very pleased! I selfishly hesitate to give this place a review because I know there will be lines out the door but I can't be selfish. The place was so immaculate, a cool modern interior and service was professional and friendly. This restaurant has only been in the neighborhood for 6 months. They tell me next Sunday they start a new early opening if I remember correctly, 10 am or 11am from their regular 1pm. Perfect for me and my friends to go for lunch after worshipping the Lord at Moody Church! Can't wait to stop by again with them! read more

Service was wonderful and so was the food. It wasn't crowded but everyone was enjoying! Everything was super tasty and the place is BYOB. Our waiter super attentive and prices are very reasonable. It's a chill hangout place for friends very casual place don't come dressed up you will be wearing bibs. They had Mexican Cokes which is always a plus in my book. The 1/2 pound of shrimp was perfect with 10 shrimp and I added in 3 which to my pleasant surprise were very sweet and juicy! We ordered medium spice level on shrimp and scallops which wasn't very spicy but had a very little kick to it. It was flavorful with all 3 seasonings combined as well. The garlic noodles with shrimp were great! The snow crab and fried rice was well seasoned and very tasty and the fried Calamari was fried perfectly with a sauce that had a nice spicy kick to it. Came to this place because Tasty Crab wasn't open and saw that this place had good reviews. It... was not good. The whole experience was just not good. The seafood itself was fine but the seasoning was a bit weird. Garlic butter was just garlic butter so no complaints there. But the garlic Cajun was a weird taste. It had sort of a cheesy taste to it as well? The service wasn't good either. It took us a while to get seated despite it not being full. The servers were barely around. And the food came out pretty slow. The vibe was just not there. It was nice looking but it was so minimalistic and simple. The music was alright too. I've passed by this place a million times and never stopped in. Finally tried it last week and wow! It's a beautifully decorated casual restaurant. We ordered the crab fried rice. Really simply seasoned with a good amount of crab. We then had the family boil for two of us. What a great deal for 88$. All the seafood was really fresh. Cajun spice over the lemon pepper spice was much more flavorful. And it's BYOB! Next time I plan on bringing a few beers. It's super messy and fun. Highly recommend! read more

Very tasty food and a fun atmosphere. We were a party of seven and ordered shrimp, crab legs, lobster tails, crawfish, mussels, sausage, potatoes, and corn. The food tasted great and we found ourselves dipping bread in all the delicious broth at the end. All seven of us had a great time and embraced the messiness of a seafood boil. Amazing spot for a first time seafood boil. Food was 10/10 and the sausage was probably the best sausage I've ever had in my life. I am deducting one star because the tiny little legs on the lobster and shrimp were really off putting, but that was more a personally issue and preference . Still yummy though. I really wanted to like this place because it's close to my home and we ordered for a special occasion. I can't speak to the ambiance because we did takeout: BBQ wings and three hot lobster rolls with fries. The wings were naked -- no sauce -- and they were kind of hard. The lobster rolls were a huge disappointment. For one, the lobster meat did not taste fresh (or fresh/frozen -- I get we're on the prairie). It tasted like it came from a can, with a very unfresh texture. And then it was overwhelmed with some kind of cajun seasoning. No one asked for that. We just wanted hot lobster rolls, which ideally come with some melted butter on the meat. The rolls themselves were decently toasted, but the lobster had a strangely sour and distractingly paprika/peppery seasoning on it. We could have closed our eyes, taken a bite, and not known what we were eating. Bummer that our mouths could not believe our eyes. The lemon-pepper fries were tasty, but fries alone do not make for repeat business. read more

Went to oh my crab today with my friend and the food was delicious! We got 2IBs of crawfish and 1/2 IB of head on shrimp with all 3 flavors and medium spice! It was perfectly spiced for us and the sauce was very good. It was so lemony and buttery, definitely one of the better tasting Cajun boils we went to. The servicer was really nice and even offered us complimentary ice cream for our visit and the price was very budget friendly. It gave cafe vibes with how the set up was and it was really comfortable to sit and talk while we waited for our food. Next time we will be back to try the calamari and raw oysters too! It's nice to have a delicious spot in the neighborhood whenever we crave a Cajun boil! read more
