Half order of chicken katsu and all rice
    Beverly E.

We came here years ago and weren't thrilled, but recently decided to go back on a whim and we were surprised with how good it was! Experience. Place your order at the counter and wait for it to be ready. Ours took about 20 minutes but there were a lot of orders being picked up, and people dining in at the same time. The person that took our order was friendly and knowledgeable. She answered a lot of my questions, and was patient with me. This place is super casual with perimeter seats and some round tables in the middle. I didn't notice a restroom, so you'll want to ask where the nearest one is. Food. The food was fresh, and the veggies in the Ohana bowl were fresh too! It's such a good find especially since a lot of places use frozen veggies these days. The portion for the half order is perfect for 1 person, and the bowl is perfect for 1 as well. The rice is cooked perfectly! The chicken katsu is cooked well (not overcooked or burnt), and the bbq chicken is on point. If you're craving Hawaiian food and are in the area, give this place a try!

We tried the chicken katsu, bbq chicken, ribs, and bbq beef, and my favorites were the chicken katsu and bbq chicken. The katsu was perfectly crispy without being oily and paired so well with the katsu sauce. All of the bbq meats were pretty flavorful as well. The mac salad was creamy and delicious. This is always my favorite side! We also ordered the loco moco, which was one of the best we've had from a hawaiian bbq restaurant. The egg was over easy but still had a runny yolk, and they gave a ton of meat. The spam musubis were pretty average - they were kind of bland and didn't have enough sauce. Overall, if you're looking for some pretty decent hawaiian food, I would recommend!

Everyone should check their receipts. There's a undisclosed 4% surcharge on every purchase regardless if paying by cash or card. When asked, their explanation of the surcharge was because they are using a computerized register.

    Kalua pork and rice

OMG soooo good! We came in for lunch around 1130 on Sunday, it was just starting to fill up with what looked like locals. The young man behind to counter was so sweet, big smile, he greeted us immediately, and was helpful and polite throughout our visit. I ordered the kalua pork, my go-to order whenever I can find it. My husband said he thought it was better than L&L, I totally agree. It was amazing, mouthwatering, so flavorful, and the portion was so big we both shared some for lunch and dinner. My husband ordered the cheese burger and fries, the burger was freaking delicious. I would go back for the burger alone, it was so impressive. The fries were shoestring, crispy and perfectly fried. Everything came out of the kitchen hot, fresh and quick! The restaurant is in a shopping center full of stores. Inside it's a bright, cute, little corner shop in a great location next to the theater. We are already planning our next dinner and a movie here.

I really enjoyed my meal from here, it was delicious! I ordered from a food delivery service and it came hot and fresh. The combo entree with shrimp and chicken katsu was delicious! The shrimp is huge and fried perfectly. The mac salad is a must get. I really liked how big the portion was. I really liked their house salad as well, the addition of the pineapples made it extra delicious and had that added flavor. I wasn't a huge fan of the spam musubi, the spam tasted odd, but the bbq chicken musubi was VERY good. Really delicious food, but can't comment on the service. Can't wait to try more of the menu.

    Pork buns
    Ron F.

Not the best Hawaiian food in town, but not bad. The steemed pork buns were more like over-microwaved pork buns, ok but chewy. The shave ice, strawberry and banana flavor was more like cherry kool-aid over crushed ice. No where near what you would get in Hawaii. But on to the main course - the Halloween BBQ chicken was tender and had a nice flavor and a generous portion. The side of macaroni salad also tasted great. The rice was just ok. Bottom line, the chicken made this a good dinner worth trying again.

Love the Teriyaki Chicken! Ask for sauce as they don't automatically include it with your food.

The person who answered the phone was so kind and helpful. She advised they give a complimentary slice of their cheesecake for the birthday celebrant but didn't sell whole cakes. She informed me about the 85 Degree bakery and Stater Brothers next door. They will gladly store the cake. The menu was a little difficult to understand but once our waiter , sorry I forgot his name explained the combos vs AlaCarte and how much would feed a party of 5 We explained one person ate like a bird 2 of us were starving and 2 were medium hungry. He asked us what we wanted in terms of seafood. We all wanted crab one person didn't want shrimp etc etc. he advised us to start with 3 (bags) boil combos all with crab ,comboed with other seafood to make it a variation. Plus add an extra portion of crab. Well it was perfect. We did 3 different spice variations and shared The table is lined with plastic. A roll of paper towels. Plus the tools. Cracker and extractor. And gloves. Omg we had a blast eating the delicious food. Everything was fresh and just scrumptious. We had one bag with the garlic and old bay. Mild (I love heat but read mild had a kick. ). Which is did but was overall a mild kick. I was slurping the juice out of the clam shells it was so gosh darn good. Our waiter and the rest of the staff checked on us. Refilled our tea and water. We made a pretty good mess of things. Best part is we didn't have to clean up. Our waiter was so thoughtful, when it was time to have cake and open presents he invited us to use a clean table. He brought us plates and forks for the cake too. The restaurant space is kinda different. You walk into the restaurant and you're in a pretty large foyer You move through it to a gigantic dinning area with dozens of tables and booths. It has a huge high ceiling and appears more like a banquet size area. There were several other diners but because of the size of the restaurant it didn't feel crowded. We were trying to figure out what the space was used prior to Crab Pub. It has an Asian twist decor (marble deco columns) but decorated with fishing type props and decorations. It looks like service stations encircled the outer edge of the restaurant. Thinking it was a buffet place in the past. We loved the playlist music Thinking it was club like 80's 'maybe 70's original hits. Thankfully , No piped in cover instrumentals. So it was extra fun to get down and dirty eating and listening to great music. Bathrooms were clean All n all it was reasonably priced (we did Snow Crab as opposed to the King Crab that was pricier ). Recommend for families , and friend groups. Unsure if first date would be good as you have to get into the boil bag and it'll get messy. I hope to come back soon to try more combo seafood and different spice offerings

They have the best molcajete and fajitas around, at the best prices. We are here just to see if Cocina Del Mar is better. Long story short: it's not. However, their ceviche is AMAZING. Best ceviche I have had in north county San Diego outside of Dija Mara (which has the best ceviche in the known universe). It is extremely fresh and not overpowered by acidity, fishy smells or rubbery shrimp. The ceviche here is legit. Great. AND ONLY $10 (for cameron). If you order anything here, get the ceviche first. I'm anxious to try their aguachile now. We also ordered the fajitas ("suprema" with chicken, steak and shrimp). Fajitas did not come out sizzling at all. I have never seen this before. Also, there were only two shrimp. The steak/carne was bland and dry. Not great. Wife ordered the Sopes (3) and mother ordered the Enchiladas Cameron. The sopes were okay, but a bit bland. Wife had to salt everything on the plate. The enchiladas had a sauce my mom said was too sweet. She wasn't a fan. For all three dishes to be a miss is completely strange considering the sheer number of 5-star reviews. I want to believe. We must have come on an off-day, but the place was busy. Quite a few larger parties were here, so this place is popular with the natives. We also grabbed a Model and a Corona. Only $5 for the beers! Total for everything came to $117.64 (with tip). I would absolutely come back for the ceviche and to give them another shot by trying a different dish. I snapped pics of the menu so you can see the latest prices. Check it out.
