His accent sounds like a RUDE New Yorker so STEER clear of this fraudulent 'lawyers' as they are robbing their clients. HORRIBLE! I am an elder I was violently attacked by a 40 yr old female & shoved over a cliff! I called & spoke w/ Daniel Dean, at 1st he seemed like he was interested/cared. he looked up her assets & said she had liens, then he told me to "find $250,000.00 of assets of hers and call him back" are you kidding me? you want me to do the work and then call you when its time to get paid? F OFF! then a couple of months later I get a call from his office that they are representing the woman that attacked me!!! WTF??? STAY AWAY From this as$hole! then I read all the rest of the horrible reviews AND when I went to Legal Aid for help everyone there, volunteer lawyers, clerks etc all said the same thing..."he is awful", "I never hear anything good about him" etc it is very clear that he is the very definition of misogyny! When I 1st contacted, he wasn't that busy, I asked to meet him and he said that's not necessary, he did not want to meet face to face to talk about my case, I asked about how much it would be and he quickly said about $4k everything, he said it's an open shut case, it's for gamuatdianship/conservativship for my elderly mother with dementia, so I sent him a check for it $4k. Then months passed, I keep asking what's going on and he says when are you making payment, I tell him I sent months ago, he finally checks and tells me ok, by then, I saw all his bad reviews and his Montana crap and I thought, this guy is kinda weird, but I already paid $4k, whatever's I'll chance it, so I keep sending him the same info for a while, saying he doesn't have it. Then months pass,nothing and I guess he hired Alexa, she starts to work on it, I keep sending her info, taking my mom to doctor for reports and stuff and finally i get a court date, they gave me the wrong time so I missed it by about 10-15 minutes, but the judge favored me, still never met William Dean. Alexa tells me she has to get some paperwork finalized, ok, no problem, By then I already sent 2 more payments he sent saying it's for Alexis work, ok almost $4k more. Then they send me a message saying he wants $4k more or he won't proceed! Wow hold me hostage at the win to milk more money knowing you have no choice! WTF And now they are telling me it's going to cost more to finish the paperwork. This guy is dirty! Unbelievable! I could've got a good lawyer for $10k but I was being tight with the thought of $4k , I did not expect to be held hostage at the end!! $7k retainer lasted 7 months during divorce...nothing much was worked on negotiation wise...I've gotten more movement in my case with no attorney on it compared to having Dean...he billed me thousands after signing off my case when not sure what work he did...I've worked with a handful of other family law attorneys throughout the years and never experienced this level of lack of transparency with attorney billing/not doing the work. read more

I hired William Dean to represent me in my divorce 4 years ago. I am still reeling from the impact of his lack of adequate representation. I was married 29 years, we had a construction/remodeling business. Our income had been around $130 k per year from 2002 through 2010. We had owned 9 properties, 5 of those rentals that provided us with a great comfortable life. Money started disappearing at an alarming rate and in 2012 my ex announced we had to file for bankruptcy, or would lose our house valued at nearly 1mil. I asked Dean to subpoena our 3 trust accounts and bank accounts, he refused. As my attorney he would have been able to do that, and it would have proved that my ex had been consistently funneling money out of joint accounts into a secret account hidden under his mothers trust. I obtained those records just 6 months after the divorce, showing direct transfers from our account into his solo account, and transfers from his mother into his account. In 2012 my ex took $62k, and in 2016 he took $38k from our joint trust into his own. He had been doing this since 2002. My ex was also supporting his drug addicted adult son since 2002 for 24 years out of our joint earnings and savings. Dean did nothing, and was actually negotiating with my ex acting on his behalf. Dean filed documents with the court, containing false information regarding Greg, info my ex told him, that I never saw or signed. In July 2022 I filed a Post Divorce Modification based on all the income, the stealing and embezzling of our joint assets. Dean agreed to represent me for that and I paid him a $2000. retainer. A week later he refused to represent me, yet refused to return the retainer. Instead he wrote up a fake invoice, backdated it to the week before the divorce was final, making it appear that I had left a $2000 out standing balance owed to him. In court I was alone, because Dean had not withdrawn his name from the case, making it impossible for me to hire someone else. In the court hearing, my ex jumped up and started yelling that I was in breach of contract because I wanted to renegotiate the divorce terms based on the recent evidence I had found. He asked if he could hire William Dean to represent him in this case against me. Judge Ing of the family court to my complete shock told my ex, " Yes I think you can". Before we were out the door my ex hired my divorce attorney and post divorce attorney, William Dean who jumped ship in mid case to represent him. They turned around and filed a breach of contract suit against me. One last thing, during my negotiations with Dean during the divorce, I offered him a bonus of $15,000 if he was able to get my obligation to the mortgage balance of $303,000 waived, as my ex took out a loan against our house on line without my consent or signature. It was a 2 year arm, the payment of $1249. more than doubled to $2598 just 2 years later. The bankruptcy attorney had managed a refi to $1332. in 2012, base on my good credit, but I declined to be added on. With all of my exes crooked actions over 29 years, Dean should have been able to negotiate that and make a big chunk extra. I raised it to $25,000 4 weeks before the final paperwork. Dean never even tried to do that, we argued constantly over his lack of interest or efforts on my behalf. He practically sleep walked through the entire process. I filed a complaint with the state Disciplinary Counsel against Dean, during which 2 women I had met while living here had also filed complaints against Dean. I was told by them that Dean had attached a lien against one woman's house, added himself onto her title for $60k, that she had not ever authorized or agreed to. In other words if she sold her house, which is how she found out about the lien, she had to pay Dean $60,000. He did the same to the other woman attaching a lien to her electrical contracting business. This is a matter of public record.
