People's opinions tend to vary greatly depending on why they showed up at OHSU, what they were treated for and who treated them. In my case, I was there due to a community referral done by the VA to have an MRI done. The reason being that OHSU has the best and most advanced MRI setup in the area. So on that basis, OHSU gets five stars. The MRI operator was great. I was in a fair amount of pain and discomfort and he did everything possible to make me as comfortable as possible. The OHSU MRI machine was totally booked for well over a month but since my situation was urgent they made an appointment for me to come by at 05:00 to have it done. So someone didn't get a full night's sleep. I was not expecting such tight security when I showed up. The entrance was tighter than a TSA checkpoint at PDX. Being up on the hill and not in the city you wouldn't expect to see sketchy people roaming around but in this day and age I guess having a lot of security around is comforting. As noted above, your experience with OHSU might well be very different than mine. But understand that OHSU is a learning hospital and as such provides a wide array of medical services often using the latest and greatest equipment and technologies. The VA gets a lot of their medical staff from OHSU and the VA (at least in Portland) is an amazing facility. Great people at both. read more

I called to make an appointment for a doctor to check my ICD and defibrillator. When I got there for the appointment it was not a doctor it was a technician. That was not what I needed since I had just had a heart attack, I needed a doctor. I drove for hours to get there and was very disappointed. My original Doctor is located in a different state and I was just too ill to reach him. OHSU was closer and I had been there before. So, while we are there someone had scheduled an ECHO. Not what I wanted but went thru it. So, I was advised at the time by the technician who checked my ICD device could make no changes. After discussing this with my doctor in another state they advised me that was untrue. They can make changes and she did without my permission. She the technician who is employed with OHSU made the changes that would kill me. It almost did. I made it to my doctor in the other state, and he was upset with them. Because they hurt me and took it upon themselves to make changes that should of never happened. Who prescribed the ECHO? Not known. It costs 2700.00 dollars. I would have died because of an inexperienced technician who did not pay any attention. My ECHO the doctor said was at 55 to 65 percent heart infraction. What a lie. I have never had an infraction that high since my heart problems began, caused by radiation and chemo treatments from breast cancer. That type of infraction is for a very heart healthy person who is able to run long distances or any other type of activity that would constitute a extensive workout. That does not describe me. I can't ever walk up a flight of stairs without passing out. I have difficulty breathing, etc. So, after my doctor's visit, he told me that I have an enlarged Heart, due to the changes made on my ICD. Along with all the other problems with my heart that can't be fixed. This in my opinion is attempted murder. Run do not walk but run if you want to live. Again, who requested the ECHO and why was there a lie about it? SSA? Who knows but the question still arises. I am retired and an older woman. These things should have never happened. read more

Health care in America has been on the decline for years. OSHU has been on the decline for a few years now. OSHU will operate at a $25 million loss for the next fiscal year and move forward with cutting 500 positions while it seeks regulatory approval to merge with another of the region's major health systems. Things will get worse. The staff is extremely nice and accommodating. Unfortunately the triage system in place sucks. We waited 4 hours for 9 stitches. Something like stitches could be knocked out in 20 minutes and keep the numbers in the wait room down. More cuts and longer waits are in order. read more

My wife and I moved from the New York/New Jersey area 6 years ago. Due to our ages we need to see doctors more frequently than we had in the past. For the most part we are pleased with the health care we have received from doctors at OHSU and the affiliate Adventist. However, the OHSU infrastructure that concerns patient care is horrendous. Apparently, there are a number of doctors that are not pleased with OHSU as the hospital is drastically understaffed and for whatever reason cannot fill vacancies in certain specialties. Many doctors on staff no longer take new patients as their case loads are full. I recently called the office to schedule an MRI for which they have a referral. I was on hold for nearly an hour. When the phone did finally ring, before an agent even got on the phone, I was hung up on. I suppose that is one way to reduce volume of calls. I called the main number, was given an apology. However, they simply reconnected me to the scheduling department. I was on hold and just hung up out of frustration. One regret I have in moving here was that we had to give up going to our hospitals back east like Sloan Kettering, Mount Sinai, and Hackensack University Medical Center. read more

I want to be clear: I respect OHSU as an institution and many of its providers. That's exactly why this experience deserves to be called out. In June 2024, I waited nearly three months for a Zoom surgical intake appointment with Dr. Hertzka to be evaluated as a potential labrum repair patient. When the appointment finally arrived, I sat on the Zoom call for almost two hours. No provider ever joined. No explanation. No follow-up. When I contacted OHSU afterward, I was told Dr. Hertzka was "no longer available" and that my case would instead be decided using an Independent Medical Examination (IME). That IME claimed I only had "degenerative osteoarthritis" and that I was not a surgical candidate for a labrum tear. Here's the reality: I underwent successful labrum repair surgery in July 2025. That alone proves the IME-based dismissal was inaccurate and medically flawed. Now in January 2026, I am thankfully in the recovery phase of physical therapy, and specialized aquatic therapy is actively being approved as part of my rehabilitation plan. While I'm grateful to be healing, I should not have had to fight through administrative failures and delayed evaluations to get here. This is not just about one provider. This reflects a system-level breakdown, telehealth scheduling failures, lack of accountability for missed consults, and overreliance on third-party IMEs instead of direct physician evaluation. OHSU can do better and should. Leaving patients unattended on scheduled surgical consults and then quietly sidelining their care is unacceptable for a flagship academic medical center. I still believe in OHSU. But this experience did not live up to the standard the hospital claims to represent. read more

I got referred to a clinic and they said they couldn't see me because they were at capacity. The woman on the phone told me I should go out of state to seek treatment, and she didn't know when the clinic would open, so now they are "turfing" people to an affiliated health system. That was awesome to hear, since I've worked in the legal department for a major hospital and have an idea what representatives should and shouldn't say to people. I'd love to have the same access to new research and treatments that a teaching hospital like OHSU has, but I guess that privilege is reserved for others. read more

If I could give zero reviews I would. The receptionist in the icu is incredibly rude. When we said we came to visit our loved one she sighed in the intercom loud and clear And as soon as we were walking by her station she side eyed us up and down. Not sure what her problem is but now when our family visits she gives us a dirty look. I believe if you are working in the icu you need to have sympathy for peoples loved ones and if you have a nasty attitude then you're working in the wrong field. read more

I have lived in Oregon for most of my life. I used to think of OHSU as the gold standard, not just in Portland, but for the whole state. After living abroad for six years and returning to Portland, I can't believe it's even the same place. I used to think that only the best doctors were employed at academic medical centers. Now, it seems that it's the reverse. The pay is probably worse, the facilities are mostly aged and poorly maintained, and it takes up to six months to get an appointment. They actually advise you to look elsewhere for a reasonable wait. Of special concern is the ER. I went recently after drinking too much over the holidays. Among other things, the doctor asked me if I had ever thought of suicide. It was conversational, I was a little intoxicated, and I said yes but that it was not something I had any plans to do. She had me taken to a concrete cell. I didn't notice at first, but it was like a jail cell. No diagnostic or monitoring equipment in the room. Only a bed and a large camera on the ceiling. When I realized what was happening, I got dressed and told the person outside that I was leaving. Within seconds, the doctor and three burly security guys showed up and told me I was on a mental health hold. Fortunately it only took one magic word: "lawsuit," and they all disappeared as fast as they came. I left with no medical attention. I had to go to a different hospital the next day. I came for care, and ended up threatened with 72 hours in jail. I won't be back. They must have had issues with lawsuits in the past for that threat to be so effective. Another reason to avoid the place. Medical practice everywhere seems to have changed. Doctors seem more concerned about protecting themselves than caring for patients. I'm sorry to have to say so, but I have completely lost confidence in what was once a model institution. read more

Went to Emergency Room on March 8 with infection on my leg. Pain on the scale 1to 10 was 15. Got to see a doctor there who said, he cannot help me and got recommended and referred to see a Pediatrist. Called to Pediatrist Department for an appointment.... July 30!!! The only way to see Pediatrist now....got admitted to the hospital. Stayed in the hospital for 4 days, because the mighty Pediatrist Team do not work on the weekends. Monday...waited whole day -no doctor!!! Apparently there is only one Pediatrist in the hospital, and my problem is not in the "A" importance. Waiting till Tuesday to see a doctor, on the 5th of the day of my hospital stay. All I needed, for the doctor to come in for 30 seconds, looked to my wound and fix it! TL/DNR: It was mostly ok. My kid had a health crisis last fall and has lung issues. We had a planned admit for an inpatient procedure a few weeks back ( right after our move) and the kid was here for 2 nights. The procedure went fine; the room was fine,the food was pretty decent, and most of the staff was fine. My kid had 2.6 liters of fluid drained from around their sick lung. It's scary stuff. We are not done. TBC. I slept there the first night on the window seat. It was better than most of the other hospitals I have slept in with the kid ( Emmanuel, Providence St. Vincent, Kaiser) . That night was ok. If staff came in I was there to help. The second night I went home to care for our furry beast who was alone in our new place and shower and take a nap . My kid got into a brain tussle with the charge nurse ( who was great night one but maybe still great and just dang tired night two). My kid kept texting me and I called the hospital two or three times to ask questions. My kid was refusing a medication and asked if it was required but the nurse gave different responses. The nurse asked me over the phone at 3am if she should take the cell phone away and told the kid that they could not call me which REALLY upset my kid who has anxiety and is on the autism spectrum and is 20. Technically an adult. And, taking the phone is like taking an arm. It kinda didnt go well. After that the kiddo insisted on going home even though the medical team would have liked another night inpatient. I'm guessing on the cardiothoracic unit they don't usually have 20 year old autistic anxious patients who refuse meds. That interaction piled on several other bad hospital experiences and now my kid's post-hospital anxiety is worse and we have another surgery to do.Sigh. The other thing I would say is OHSU is really hard to get around with a disability and its a fricken hospital full of broken people! There are tons of stairs and blocked off corridors and an elevator that doesnt stop at the floor you need because of construction and creepy old parking garages with poor access. What a nightmare. Me and my chemo-induced neuropathy were not happy.When I couldn't figure out how to find my car i sat on a bench and cried. A patient's wife rescued me and got me to my car.I am forever grateful bc I was just so crispy from everything. All in all a 3.75 maybe. We will see how next visit shakes out. read more

Writing a review of OHSU is as difficult as receiving care here. It is set up as a convenience for their administrators rather than patients. I had an appointment at their BEAVERTON location. My Uber driver could not find it on his GPS and I could not find it on Google Maps. It is near NIKE headquarters, which has no addresses on their numerous buildings. The address marking for this OHSU building is indistinct. Its signage is nonexistent. I had to reschedule my appointment for months down the road. I may be dead by the time I am ever seen there. I waited months for this appointment for which I arrived 10 minutes late. The doctor has no incentive to stretch his schedule even a tiny bit for me. He is a state employee. Get the picture? The patient is insignificant to this institution's operation. All missing revenue is paid for by Oregon taxpayers. read more

How does HIPPA exist in the ER waiting room?. We sat here for hours as did others and the nurses treat patients in the Lobby. Nobody gets taken back to a room. There is no privacy. They give you medication in the lobby, they tend to your IV in the lobby, they discuss your private medical information for all to hear. It felt like an invasion of privacy, I knew too much about people I didn't need to know. If you care about your privacy, go elsewhere. read more

Doctors are mediocre at best, and the rest of the staff are plain incompetent. Simple surgery necessarily ends up with complications. Getting a wart removed by liquid nitrogen does not work out with one visit only -- you will have to go there again. Ask your doctor to release a blood test to you and he sends you a plain number without explanation and without even showing units of measurement. Bedside manners are non-existent. SINCE OHSU took over Portland Adventist in Portland Oregon. There are no longer specialist or primary care people who are actual doctors. This means that if you are ordered a test it is the technician who makes the diagnosis because the so called medical specialist are nurse practitioners. I have seen good reviews equally as much as bad for this hospital. I will admit that my first personal experience there wasn't quite pleasant in how I felt they had overall addressed my issues at the time. My tendency after that visit was more inclined in leaning towards agreement with the more negative reviews. My most recent visit there, however, was beyond excellent and so find myself now retracting any previous reservations I felt about them. Their treatment of me went well beyond expectation and had felt extremely taken care of that I legitimately feel more than confident with my way to recovery. The lapse between the visits had been a couple of years, however, so if there were any changes during that intermission, I couldn't tell you. One thing I do know for sure is that any change that may have taken place with regard to how they operate is quite vast towards positivity and progress when I compare that of my first visit with the last. Perhaps it could also be a hit or miss type of scenario dependent on exactly when you happen to find yourself there and the staff working at the time. If that is the case, let's just hope from here on that anyone has a positive experience with regard to how their treatment is handled should they find themselves in a situation of needing their services. read more

I went back still couldn't find it so my friends said to me to go with Oshu they know what they're doing they find it. I came and it is completely packed in which I could handle that. I don't know where I'd be today considering my surgeries, medical care, dermatology, neurology, physical therapy, and previously I had primary care, wish I still did. Ignored, Dismissed, and Stuck in an Endless Hold - OHSU, Do Better. I have been trying to schedule an appointment with a specialist at OHSU for nearly a month now, calling from out of state. Every time I call, I leave messages that never get returned, and when I try different departments for assistance, I either get redirected endlessly or remain on hold for hours without any resolution. Most recently, I attempted to go through the patient advocacy line but had to leave yet another message. Out of desperation, I called the Physician Advice and Referral Service at 503-494-4567 , where I finally spoke with someone named guy named Matty. When I explained my situation--how I had been calling for weeks with no response--he dismissed my concerns outright, saying, "That's unheard of. I don't believe you, and I think you're lying to expedite the process." Being treated this way was deeply upsetting. I was already frustrated from the lack of communication, but to be met with such blatant disregard and accusation was beyond unprofessional. Even after this interaction, I was placed on hold again for another hour, with no resolution. The entire experience has left me feeling invisible and completely unheard. This level of customer service is unacceptable, especially for a healthcare institution where patients, many of whom are dealing with serious medical issues, should be treated with compassion and respect. I sincerely hope OHSU addresses these systemic issues in communication and patient support. No one should have to go through this just to receive the care they need. read more

I just got out of the hospital on Wednesday, today is Sunday night, after an eight hour operation to repair my abdominal aneurysm. I previously went through six endoscopic procedures to try and fix at Good Samaritan, Legacy and the Mayo Clinic. The aneurysm just kept growing until it reached almost 10 centimeters. Dr Sherene Shaloub at OHSU said in our first meeting that she was 80% sure it would require open surgery to permanently fix. Sure enough that's what happened. I am sore as hell right now with a 13 inch slice along side my rib cage and into my abdomen ending below the navel. All stapled up like a zipper. I can't tell you how relieved I am that it's done and the level of confidence I have in the skill of Dr Shaloub and her team. Two days in the ICU and three days in the hospital and I was sent home . Level of care, comfort and food was great. A special shout out to all the nurses! Even the view from the eleventh floor taking in the Portland cityscape was amazing. Going to my doctor's visit at OHSU was one of the worst experiences of my life. I had been diagnosed with zero flexibility in any part of my body. I literally could not walk. I was in excruciating pain and all I did was laying in bed. All day every day. Doctors told me I couldn't do anything. Don't lift over a pound. Don't try to walk more than you have to. So I got my dad to drive me to OHSU, which was an 8 hour drive that I laid in the backseat of his truck writhing in pain the whole time. When I arrived at OHSU some nurse who ended up being a very awful person as well as the doctor.. she took me into the room, and I don't know this was a long time ago, did whatever. Took my blood pressure and whatnot. Then the doctor came in and I'm just sitting there with my head down feeling like I'm about ready to die. Doctor opened the door says hello, closes the door doesn't come in. The nurse comes back and says OK. You're good to go. I walk out with the nurse. I can't even see straight. I can't walk straight. I'm just dizzy feeling like I'm gonna pass out in excruciating pain. My dad is staring at me with a look I've never seen before on his face and the doctors talking to him. The doctor told my dad that because I did not look up and say hi and make eye contact with him when he walked in the room. He decided that I am schizophrenic is what my dad tells me after we leave. Then my dad comes over and he's talking to the nurse and I'm trying to hold my body up and hold my head up. I'm trying to read the nurse's name tag, I'm tall. She was very short my head I could not hold up and it was in my eye line. I'm literally 2 feet away from her and I can't read the name on her name tag. I can't see it. I can't see anything straight. At this point, the nurse just looks down and starts staring at my dick. The only possible conclusion I can come to is she had no idea what the fuck was going on with me so much. I think she thought I was like checking her body out or something so I think she wanted to like make me feel as uncomfortable as she felt so she starts staring at my dick and I can't vocalize anything or think to try to tell her something different. I'm about to pass out if I don't sit down. So I sit down and she's talking to my dad about a follow up appointment or some bs. And then she comes to me and starts talking to me about the same thing and she's like your dad's a good guy and I'm like "yeah" like of course he is what kind of question is that and she said in a way like this lady thought I came there to stare at her body and thought I was a some horrible person or something. Like I understand this is a teaching hospital but like this woman had issues she wasn't thinking about me. She was thinking about herself. I can't even fathom what's going on like I would've felt more empathize with in a class of second graders than medical professionals. They totally disregarded everything. My chart said everything I had written down. But I was very happy to see how horrible the reviews were for this place when I looked because I always heard this was a great medical facility. Such a stupid nurse such a stupid doctor. Never asked me a question. Never talk to me about anything. Just decided I was schizophrenic because I didn't look him in the eye. I don't go to the doctor to make friends I go to the doctor For medical help and you failed. This was around 2008 I'd say 2009 what a horrible medical place what a bunch of horrible people it was sickening. I was so pissed off. OHSU was our first choice among local hospitals when my wife and I decided to have a child together [Full disclosure: my wife is a *former* OHSU employee]. She knew enough about the internal workings of the OB/GYN and fertility departments (despite working in Dermatology) to put her trust in the organization and its doctors. From beginning to end, and during each step of the process, we felt we were in good hands. From fertility specialists (this pregnancy was considered "high risk" due to complications from my wife's Type 1 Diabetes), to the perinatal department, to labor and delivery, the doctors, nurses and assistants were wonderful, personable, and made us feel seen, heard and understood. The facility and its provided services are state-of-the-art, even if sometimes the building(s) themselves (many of them re-used and repurposed from older clinics on "the hill") feel a bit worn down in places. Everything you could possibly need, as a patient or visitor, is accommodated for here: from a fantastic gift shop, to a "natural foods" store, multiple coffee stands, cafés, and even a 24-hour cafeteria (serving hot food until 3 am), if you need something, there's a place to find it. There's even a fantastic sushi restaurant on campus, not far from the main hospital! And, of course, room service can be ordered at any time, day or night. When it came time for our baby to enter this world, we were put in the hands of two fantastic nurses, competent doctors, and a veritable swarm of residents and students in training. Some might see this as a double-edged sword, as privacy...well, it's pretty much non-existent. As my wife remarked, there seemed to be a "never-ending chain of people staring at my hoo-hah!", but on the flipside, there was never a lack of care and attention. Visitation is (currently?) limited to two people at a time (for labor and delivery, anyway), and masks are still required for all except, thankfully, my wife, after testing negative for COVID, and being granted an exception to mask-wearing for the entirety of the delivery process. We had a plan on how things were going to "go down" for the birthing process, and my wife opted for a natural birth, aided by nitrous oxide when things got bad, but in the moment, she was able to pivot to an epidural without any resistance, other than the nurses checking, and double-checking, to ensure that that's what my wife wanted, and not just "the pain talking". Once the meds were in her system, things proceeded so smoothly from then on out, it makes me wonder why anyone...ANYONE...would choose not to go that route. We're not living in the dark ages anymore, people! Take the drugs! Major shout-outs to Dr. Michaela Rickert and her perinatology team for the absolutely stellar work they have done, are still doing, and continue to do, postpartum. Also, huge thanks to the fantastic labor and delivery nursing team (particularly Kaity and Esha), from students to residents and veterans alike. And lastly, to OHSU itself, which continues to wage war against the plagues and pestilences of our age; the vanguard of research, innovation and treatment, and elite among healthcare providers in Oregon, and the greater Pacific Northwest. They should be lauded for far more than they are given credit. read more

OHSU is the best care I have experienced in Portland metro. The staff there are overall very helpful and accommodating. Quite a few went above and beyond to help. The equipment is relatively up to date. Many other brand of care facilities often had old dirty looking equipment and I have not seen many of that here. It feels bright and clean. read more

Length of time to get care currently it takes 6 months to see primary care and another 6 months to see specialist plus another 6 months to get ordered tests scheduled. These people are just hoping you will give up and go away. Since Portland Adventist has joined OHSU the Adventist care is very bad. read more

My review is on billing services. One number says they're too busy and forces you to leave a message with a promise of calling you back within 24 hours, which never happens. I think they've understaffed that department or the department doesn't exist at all. I'm leaning towards the latter, as another number listed on their website to call for payment arrangements, 503-681-1000, just gives you their address and hours and then hangs up. I guess they have you over a barrel once services have been rendered, and they know it. Poor customer service on the back end of this overall process. It is frustrating because Tuality was really good at this until OHSU took over. read more

This review is for the ED observation unit. My husband had a 2 night stay in this unit recently and I was beyond impressed. The staff was knowledgeable and incredibly attentive. The physicians and nursing staff were able to communicate with my husbands medical team at UCSF to help them make complex decisions based on his care. A special shout out to Ryan and Julia who went above and beyond to make my husbands stay a little bit easier. The discharge instructions/teaching was helpful and the staff made sure to answer all our questions before we left the hospital. A big thank you to the hospital and its staff. read more

My wife had been having chest pains for a year and a half and after a mass amount of testing and procedures they can't seem to find a conclusive answer. We were referred to OHSU where we were told they were going to do genetic testing and other advanced diagnosis treatments. After 7 months of waiting, we sat with the dr where it ended up being a glorified consultation and he said it boiled down to a weight issue. They completely ignored hereditary evidence and didn't bother for further testing or anything. We're disappointed and frustrated that we seem to be just a number in the system to these doctors. read more

Spent the night (11-6:30) sleeping on the floor waiting for a CT scan. Eventually I just got tired of waiting once it was semi-certain I wasn't at risk of death or injury and asked if I could go home to rest and wait for my results but they haven't called and when I call in, the call disconnects like there's no operator and they forgot to set an OOO message. Called 2 different operators in the hospital with the same issue and both disconnected. Level of care was decent when they got around to it but timeliness and communication suuuuck read more

This is the best hospital. So many of the doctors are so wonderful. Have you ever met Dr Sullivan? What a compassionate, kind, funny man. Look, no hospital is perfect - but if I needed one in Portland, this would be the place I'd go. Plus, who doesn't love the tram? What a view! read more

Horrible birth experience, 0 stars if I could. I had planned a homebirth with midwives but when midwives unexpectedly abandoned me during labor and referred me to hospital without a medical reason, I chose OHSU because they were our backup plan and they assured me they had midwives who were trauma-informed and autism-informed who could care for me through the birth. Our experience here was traumatic for both my husband and I and our newborn! The staff were repeatedly invalidating, unsupportive of our birth preferences, not respectful of my need for privacy and a calm space, and keep pressuring me for interventions we didn't want or need (look up the Cascade of Interventions in childbirth, exactly what I was trying to avoid is what we were pressured and coerced into by the providers at OHSU who shouldn't even have the title of midwife since it means "with woman" and they were never supportive of me). Nurses and other staff kept entering the ro and pulling the privacy curtain wide open and leaving it that way when they left, pressuring me to wear the monitors, not supporting me with positions to try, and repeatedly pressuring me to augment labor with pitocin and get an epidural. They convinced me to try rupture of membranes and said it would speed up labor, but I found out later that that is not backed up by research and the research has shown it can actually slow labor progress and cause more pain, which is exactly what it did to me. We ended up having an unplanned C-section, at the very least they gave me extra stitches and surgical glue to account for my hypermobility, but they didn't allow my husband to be in the room for the C-section because of hospital policy, so neither of us got to see our child be born! They denied us the opportunity to see our child be born. I had expressed colostrum before the birth and even though our baby was born with an APGAR score of 9 they insisted on giving him all the colostrum I had expressed because they thought he was a little cold but his temperature was fine and he wasn't showing signs of cold, but they threatened to put him in the NICU and give h formula if my husband didn't consent; all of that happened before I even woke up. After the birth, I had to fight to have my birth plan followed and get our golden hours to try to initiate breastfeeding, which was much harder since baby was sleepy from the c-section. The 3 hospital lactation consultants I saw were AWFUL; 2 of them used forceful techniques that hurt my baby's neck and used shaming language, I had to ask one of them to leave because they were rough with him and the third one wasn't helpful either but at least didn't hurt my baby. None of the lactation consultant knew about the Thompson Method of breastfeeding which I took a class in during pregnancy, and is ultimately what saved our breastfeeding journey. The staff were inattentive after the birth, it took days to see the doctor after the surgery and get my questions answered. Several of the nurses were rude and intrusive, again with the barging in and leaving the privacy curtain wide open when I'm topless and trying to figure out breastfeeding and want privacy for that, but they also woke us up for stupid things in the middle of the night that were completely unnecessary when I'm hooked to vital monitors. The entire experience was so traumatic, we never felt safe and my husband was afraid to leave me and the baby at the hospital alone when he needed to get stuff from home and feed our cats because it was so awful. It felt like a prison, the only difference was the food was decent; we wanted to check out quickly after the birth once I could walk but they took forever to discharge us. I would never recommend this hospital to anyone for childbirth, not even to my worst enemy. The treatment and lack of care we endured here was traumatic and left my husband and I with flashbacks and PTSD for months after the birth; they caused us a lot of harm, doctors are supposed to "first do no harm." My husband tried to reach a patient advocate to give feedback but they never called back. read more

WORST hospitality and service, no one does their job and just gossips with their coworkers So it takes a day and a half to even be talked to and updated about what is going on or how to proceed. They make peoples situation worse which is the opposite of their job. The staff doesn't understand how to be time efficient, effective, or lay out things in order of priority. COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR F***ING PATIENTS. read more
