Definitely the best sushi I've had here in Paris. Stumbled across this restaurant totally by chance…read moreand decided to give it a try. Upon entering Okuda, it was explained that there are 2 separate sections, so it was a choice between a 10 course traditional degustation or a simpler sushi selection. My mom and I opted for the latter as it seemed less overwhelming and a more reasonable price. The restaurant had 2 dinner servings 6:00pm and 8:30pm, and we had arrived just in time for the first seating. There are only 7 seats in the place which makes for a very intimate setting. Just a simple row of chairs facing the chef. Being the first to arrive, my mom and I had the place to ourselves and enjoyed watching the chef prepare our dishes and explain his methods and ingredients. Chef Tomo was very cheerful and easygoing, glad to answer all the questions we peppered him with and inserting even more details about each dish that made it more special. The service was fantastic, with chef Tomo brandishing his knife made by a Japanese company that forged samurai swords 300 years ago. The staff always made sure our tea was warm and changed teacups with a different type of design each time. We started off with an amuse-bouche of vegetables in a jelly wrapper with a corn based sauce topped with a flake of gold leaf, followed by a marinated steamed beef dish then grilled sea bass with zucchini sprinkled with Yuzu and bonito flakes. The pièce de résistance was the assortment of sushi! Flounder; Sea bass + Yuzu garnish; Red Snapper; Bouget + Yuzu pepper; 16-day aged tuna + Onion; Toro (Fatty Tuna); lobster; Unagi (Wild French eel); Beef wagyu. Polishing off with a Tuna/Toro Temaki with Shiso leaf, ginger & specially made miso paste -- my favorite. The miso soup with mushrooms was very light and savory. The dessert was coconut sorbet with mixed fruits in white wine. A lovely meal all in all. Everything was a wonderful surprise and did not disappoint. ^_^

We eat at a lot of high end sushi restaurants, and this place is now at the top of our favorites…read morelist. Our party of 5 absolutely enjoyed the tasting menu. Three adults, and 2 teenagers all agreed that this place is a delicious and special dinner. The Sushi Chef spoke great English and was very personable throughout the entire meal.

Sushi B ranks as the worst value meal I've ever had in my life. Note, I didn't write "worst meal."…read moreThe quality of the nigiri was actually good (though still in the bottom third of other omakase meals we have had). The quality of the non-nigiri items was below average at best and poor at worst--you know omakase is not going well when the feeling that you would never in a million years want to eat the course again keeps repeating itself. What made the meal the lowest value was the overall below average quality combined with an exorbitant price tag (320 EUROS pp) better reserved for the Alineas and Joel Robuchons of the world. The experience at Sushi B was not remotely worth the price (unlike those two restaurants). Unfortunately, from a pure quality perspective, Sushi B does not deserve the one Michelin star it has. I've had plenty of non Michelin-starred omakase places that are better. From the amuse-bouche (which did nothing to please the palate) to several of the opening courses, I kept wondering whether the Michelin star was a mistake. And then I wondered whether the chef was just off his game that day. And then when I got the bill, I thought they mistakenly quadrupled the price. Hard no from me. Save your money. Omakase is a much higher quality and less egregiously expensive experience elsewhere.

Randomly found this restaurant while walking from the hotel to look for somewhere to eat. My…read morebrother and I were sick of eating all these american/european food like pasta, pizza and cheese, we wanted something Asian like sushi. This is a typical sushi restaurant owned by Chinese. We ordered a sashimi plate along with 2 rolls. Food was more than enough for both of us and we were hungry. I dont know what it is but all sushi restaurants in Paris often only have Salmon and Tuna and no yellowtail. We substituted white fish for more Tuna instead. Rolls were decent. They werent bad at all. It was fresh and tasty. Not too much rice and it was filled with enough ingredients and it was very satisfying actually. What bothered me was their service. The girl server was really not doing her job. We only asked her when she was nearby us. The owner was having a family get-together at the restaurant, eating and drinking. They were super loud and I found it really annoying and unprofessional. It is definitely understandable if they have a dinner party aftet they close the restaurant but it was while they were still in business for the day. One of the customers walked in and he walked out after realizing how loud it was. Other than that, food was not bad at all. They give you a bowl of rice with the sashimi but it was those weird chinese we dont like. Asked for the sushi rice, and the server was nice enough to give us a new bowl of rice.
