Sat for ages waiting for someone to give us menus, even pressed the little buzzer that says "press me for service " with no result. Went up to the counter and asked if the buzzers were working, bored look and response of "what?". Had to ask for menus, which "miss bored" eventually brought out to us. Both ordered the GPO breakfast. Crispy bacon, eggs (any way), grilled tomato, relish and toast. I asked for "well done toast", got lightly pan fried bread, not toast, and not well done. Tasteless, very ordinary breakfast. Bacon and eggs can be quite yummy, not this one tho. Not worth the effort of getting up early on a day off to have brekky here (only serve breakfast until 11am), a shame as earlier visits have been very enjoyable. Selections are great, some usual ones, which is good, with lots of "different" choices as well. I had the Avocado and feta on turkish toast, served with a really tasty relish, added so much flavour to the dish without overpowering it. Love the turkish toast here, its nice and thin, and cooked well. My pot of tea came with a little jug of milk that was enough for the pot, thumbs up for me as I like lots of milk in my tea,so unusual as most places assume people only use a drop or to in their tea and give you only a tiny bit milk. He had the Ham pizza with sun dried tomatoes, olives and anchovies. Very tasty, enjoyable. A great place to relax and eat, makes you want that second cuppa to stay that little bit longer.

Our coffees were a standard Toowoomba $4 a pop (cup size, not a mug) and a fairly decent cup of joe. I ordered a long black and it did the job of kickstarting the day. As the Roasters is not really a cafe, there is not a large food menu but there was enough on offer to tempt. Apart from the usual cakes and slices, the more substantial offerings in the cabinet were breakfast items like toasties. However, there are 4-5 wrap or open grill options if you want a proper meal with your incredibly nice coffee. We waited quite a while for mum's food, which was unusual as we were one of only two parties eating. Being a Sunday lunch, I image their peak times are mornings. My toast need and garlic mushroom open grill was delicious, being served with plenty of Dijon hidden underneath. Mum reported her cheese and tomato toastie to be fine, and the coffee pretty good. I had a pot of tea which the barista made using an odd machine, so I enjoyed the novelty of that. I recommend this place to people wanting to seek out next-level coffee in Toowoomba.
