After waiting a while we were advised that they had sold out and our order could not be completed. There was no information as to whether it could be completed if at all! Obviously disappointed I find that we had traveled unnecessarily at a cost to us and as pensioners it was a cost we could ill afford. Superb garden centre that's sure to cater for your every need…read more This place is HUGE a look at the car park, overflow carpark and overflow overflow car park will give you some idea just how HUGE! The plant selection here is excellent. Houseplants, shrubs, bedding plants, trees, you name it, they'll have it. Plants are always in excellent condition and they're very reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and knowledgable about the plants they sell. There's an excellent florists and you can order some fantastic bouquets or make up your own with their extensive cut flower selection. A huge range of stoneware, soils, barks and stones are available and this place is so popular it even has a drive through compost run to allow you to pick up your compost without having to park. Outbuilding, pool and pet concessions exist. There's a good range of gardening attire and gift ware. A good range of toys and gifts complete the set up. There's a cafe here with limited outdoor seating in addition to a large indoor area. There are always plenty of trolleys of varying sizes but do expect the place to be VERY VERY BUSY! Recommended.

I've always been amazed at the profusion of flowers, shrubs, trees on display, and the garden essentials, furniture, tools, toiletries, and books etc. A great eclectic mix of many essentials. Not forgetting their dining opportunities in lovely surroundings. Today ( 10/09/20 ) I had occasion to buy more bulbs etc, and to return for advice on an expensive plant purchased last year which had died. I was attended to by Tony who was very helpful and friendly, advising me that the plant that I had purchased had persisted, and he told me that I could get further assistance on this by another member of staff in the plant department. This time I met Kim, who looked at my sad plant remains, and suggested it had been attacked by weavels . Kim kindly told me that the plant would be replaced free of charge, and then gave me a lot of information re. Planting and care of it. These two members of staff went far beyond my expectations, and were a credit to Newbridge. Thank you both. I will remain with this nursery and highly recommend it.

Being lucky enough to have both a spacious front and back garden, I am always on the look out for gorgeous new plants. I usually buy my lavendar and herbs from Flower City round the corner and go to Wyevale Garden Centre for everything else. It's expensive but the stock is always varied and extremely good quality. They have plant pots, soil, gardening furniture and seeds inside and a massive selection of seasonal and perennial flowers, plants and fruit trees inside. I've bought everything from rosemary, thyme and chilli plants to dahlias and rose bushes and everything has grown beautifully. In fact, if I could afford it I'd go back tomorrow and order fig and olive trees for next spring.

When the food arrived my Son, who is far from greedy said there was not a lot of food, when I looked at the bowl of chips there was barely a third in it with some cheese thrown on carelessly. We waited a minute for the drinks to follow and when they didn't I went back in to enquire as to where they were. It was then I noticed the young blond girl who had served us now sitting at one of the tables on her lunch break with an overflowing bowl of chips! No guessing why my Son was left with scraps then! We won't return.

Igigi General Stores looks and feels like a boutique shop you'd stumble across in Paris…read more There's a spiral staircase which leads to a cafe and the walls have been stripped back to reveal original details of the building. As for their stock, they specialise in expensive, antique chairs, daybeds, cupboards and chaise longues. The cosy size of the store means there's usually only one of each on display but the owners clearly have access to more as they also offer a home-styling and bespoke furniture service. As well as unique pieces of classic furniture, they sell lovely linen, tableware, glasses, bowls, chopping boards, cake stands, candles and toiletries. It's an enchanting space but I suspect if I took items home they wouldn't look quite as special as they do in the store! I also find the fact everything's white, cream or wood a little bland. Like Pedro Almodovar, I love splashes of bold colour and Igigi is devoid of them.

Handmade soaps, bath and shower gels, china and dishware, napkins and placemats, candles and vases were all in these natural colours and had a nice earthy feel. Wooden items included functional pieces like coat-hangers as well as decorative figurines - mostly hand painted animals. Men's fashions were displayed in the basement, although women's fashions have been moved a few doors down on Western Street. I didn't venture into the café upstairs, but from glancing in, it had the same homey/earthy feel. I'm guessing healthy organic yummies, but will venture back this week to check it out. Igigi is a bit expensive for gifts, but they're unique and high quality - I recommend checking it out.
