Starters goat cheese for me and garlic prawns for my coworker. He had rump of lamb, i had wild trout. Came with platters of fries, potatoes au gratin and steamed veg. My most recent visit was for a light lunch with a colleague, so we each had a pint of Marston's Burton Bitter, and we had a crab and prawn sandwich and a Parma ham, and mozzarella sandwich, sharing a bow of chips between us. This light lunch was delicious, the service was good and the bill, including a large tomato juice, was £26.60. A firm favourite and we'll be back again.

It was brilliant ! Really cannot complain. In terms of other items on the menu, standard large chain pub grub. Big on burgers especially as everywhere seems to be nowadays ! Drinks are super cheap I bought 3 meals and 3 alcoholic drinks for about £27. Really can't go wrong. Good atmosphere, clean, friendly staff. We arrived 10 mins early and were showed to our table. Drinks ordered we were asked twice in the next 30 seconds if we were ready to order, despite having no menus! Eventually we ordered and were asked to pay there and then, before any food had arrived! When questioned the young waitress said she had been trained to ask for this as we were outside. This made us feel like we were being judged to be likely to fo a runner.....58 and 59 year olds respectively!! Starters and mains came and went. To be fair thet were OK but the night had already been spoilt by the "Pay first" insult. Still waiting for the sweet menu. Shame really, could have been so much better for not a lot of effort or trust.

There was an excellent variety on the menus and I thought the prices were very worth it as the food and drink was delicious. The music and ambience was lovely. I think the lighting overall was a bit dim for lunchtime but I think it would be perfect for dinner or later in the afternoon. Definitely recommend!

on living close by we used to use the glass works a lot but the food and service was dreadful when…read morewe saw it was being revamp we,ve give it another go we where in the front of house both doors were open it was freezing we ordered a drink try to get out of the cold the only seats were high stools so we decided to go to the lounge found a seat by the bar no menu on table we found some on the next table it read very nice has we sat there the queues got longer to be served there was three staff on they indifferent to the customers as we watch there was only one young man delivering food to customers two men were complaining about the wait A young girl come out of the kitchen with really long hair which she not wearing a net she also had no kitchen whites on she help herself to a coffee we could not deleive she was working with food ererwith hair not tied up she went back in kitchen only for us to see a young man in a base ball cap with long hair with no net this totally up us off ordering any food also there was which we thought was a lady walking round with asheet of paper in her hand she pulled the only sever over to the next table to us to discuss his rotas he looked really fed up then four people came in they had booked a table both bar server behind the bar can no help they called this manager to she just said table for four and walked down the lounge away from they looked at each other then walked after her we decided on to stop we think you should get some staff training or a misterey shopping in to see whats going on we will be going back to witherspoons
