This park is a bit off the beaten path but it is definitely worth checking out. The springs…read morethemself are definitely cool, as is the trailhead and I enjoyed chilling on the couple tables that were there specifically there for that very purpose. Being here maybe understand what day did Stephen Foster write the classic song "Way Down Upon the Suwannee River," the beauty and serenity here is a balm for your soul, both soothing and making you realize that there is more to this world than the hustle and bustle of the cities and the grind of your career. Just up the street from here is the local attraction that is known, at least locally, as the Graffiti Bridge. It is not that far off of Interstate 10 and worth the trip. I would hazard a guess that it would take you fifteen minutes out of your way and that is counting both going to and getting back on the highway. Once again, head over that way, you will not be disappointed. Check out both the springs and the Graffiti Bridge. You will be better for the experience.

My grandson absolutely loves the cotton top tamarin, and my granddaughter is the same about the Black and white lemurs. We always average being there 4 to 5 hours. Their just never ready to go. They are always acquiring new animals and birds, so the experience is never dull. Always something new to see The only downside is there is nowhere to purchase food. The nearest food is an Arby's in a gas station off of highway 19. So, if you're planning a full day pack a lunch, especially with young ones.

We love this park and the serene tranquility that we experience…read moreeach time we come to spend the night it makes for a complete experience being close to the I-10 but far enough that makes it different than other stops with more traffic This time of the year the proximity to the Suwannee River does not have the same effect as in hotter months where mosquitoes can eat you good. March and April have always been our favorite months for a quick overnight stay and when the Museum was open we have stayed longer. Dog poop bag stations are well stocked unlike other State Parks, but I am still concerned about their budget. Almost sure it is the best State Park of Hamilton County Time to make reservations, there are months that bookings are almost impossible since kayaking and canoeing are popular sports on the River

The lake is scenic and there are many things to do and see around the park. One of the best features is the ability to camp wherever you want, unlike most festivals where you have to camp in line with everyone where they tell you to. Camping under the trees feels like a true camping experience and you can even have fires here. Water spigots are plentiful so getting water is a breeze. In the venue there's even a regular bathroom with flush toilets which is a really nice touch. I've been here for two events: tipper and friends as well as Hulaween. I love this place so much I can't wait to come back again

The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park & Campground is an insanely unique…read moremusic venue that hosts 4 or 5 large-scale fests a year, as well as a beautiful and idyllic North Florida campground on regular, non-festival days. Located in Live Oak, way down upon the Suwannee river, the crown gem of this park has to be their natural amphitheater stage built right into the woods. It's a sight you have to see to truly believe, but since I'm writing a review, I'll try to paint you a picture. Imagine you're standing in a forest that starts to dip low, like shallow bowl. Follow wooden steps down to the center, through the trees, to a clearing where hundreds of people are gathered, waiting. Suddenly.. LIGHTS! MUSIC! Yellow, purple, blue and red shoot out and spread wide, illuminating the dark woods and filling the crowd with excitement as the music starts bouncing off the trees, reverberating back to the crowd and out to the furthest corner of the park. It's a concert like no other, and all who have experienced it become united by the memory. Festivals here go all night as attendees run around like kids on the loose until 5 am and later. Hop from stage to stage and see who's making sweet music, or romp around the campsites to see friends old and new. It's an adult playground made of nature; a blessing to enjoy. During the day, you can hang on the beach and swim in the river. If you're feeling brave go for the rope swing; just hold on to your tops ladies! :) I've never had the pleasure of camping at SOS on a non-festival weekend, but I can't imagine a place more peaceful. After attending six festivals here, I have to say I'm a lifelong fan. This is a must-see in the wild and wonderful state of Florida.

The weather was cool and comfortable -- perfect for camping without the Florida heat and humidity. The Christmas lights were AWESOME! The park does a fantastic job decorating, and it really puts you in the holiday spirit. Driving through the light displays in the evening was definitely the highlight of the trip. The campground itself was spacious and well-suited for RVs, and it worked great for a group stay. Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy time together. The only downside is there's not much to do in the immediate surrounding area. If you're looking for shopping, restaurants, or attractions outside the park, options are pretty limited. It's more of a "stay on property and relax" kind of destination -- which isn't necessarily bad, just something to know ahead of time. If you enjoy RV camping, holiday lights, and a laid-back atmosphere, this is a great seasonal getaway -- especially with a group. Would definitely consider going back for the Christmas display again!

We started off in a tent but decided to rent a cabin for a night to get the full experience. Only downfall is that the cabins are a bit older and could use some slight updates and more cleaning. Otherwise, the park itself was great. We even stuck around to see the bat cave and all the bats flew over our heads as the sun went down.
