Old Street has been around for quite a while and is a solid choice for a pint and something to eat. There is a good size menu with a nice selection of choices ,but not so large as to be overwhelming . Everything I've ever ordered here has been good. The place has a nice vibe to it and I'm usually there 1 or 2 Fridays a month after band practice and Chelsea who works the bar is really great . Attentive , smart and funny with a great dry sense of humor . It's a good hang . The rest of the staff is great as well. They used to have music on Fridays and I miss that and they could use a good cognac or brandy to serve . But overall it's a nice place to stop by for a bite to eat and a cold one . Stopped in for lunch. Had a weekly special. The A1 burger was cooked perfectly had to add extra A1 for a little extra juiciness. The side were fries, onion rings,pickles and Cole slaw just enough of each on. The pickles were very garlicky if that's a word. Service was great not all that many people because of MLK day. Back to Old street after 2 years and now providing for an updated review. Unfortunately I was disappointed and now leaving a lesser favorable review. Went there with a group of 8 on a Saturday night with 5:30 reservations. We sat, no issues with the reservation. Our waitress was shockingly pretty rude lol. Our table was short a place set and two menus but it just seemed like she didn't take it well when we told her. Service overall was slow but I think maybe because there didn't appear to be any runners, and the servers brought everything, drinks and food, and generally not enough staff. Drinks were slow to finally get out to us from seating, and food took an hour to get to us. Sadly, the food was just not great. To start, the food was lukewarm and definitely seemed like the it sat in the window. Again, service was not great, but unfortunately the food was not great quality either and assuredly did not match the description of the menu. 3 of our 8 dishes were sent back. We came for St.Patricks day- Everything was delicious except for the corn beef- it was so overdun that We could not eat it. last year the food was good so we came back- what a disppointment. We were not the only table complaining. We told the waitress but she just shrubbed her shoulders and walked away. I eat here all the time but this was really horrilbe corn beef- They may be busy but that is not an excuse to cook it like that. So I guess I will be going somewhere else next year. Solid American/Pub food spot. We ordered takeout and I was impressed with what they gave. I got the California chicken wrap and asked for extra chipotle mayo on the side. It also came with a side of fries (pictured) pickles and coleslaw (packaged separately). I liked that they offer whole wheat wraps and have healthier choices on the menu for a bar and grill. my husband ordered a steak sandwich and was pleased. He also ordered French onion soup and was happy that they packaged the cheese and bread separately so that he could heat it up at home and it wouldn't get all soggy. The friendly service prevents me from giving them 2 stars. Service was good but the food was 2 stars at best. They start you with some sort of fried bread with cheese spread. It was very good but you don't want to eat too much of it. I ordered a French Onion Soup and it was served lukewarm. If you know how French Onion Soup is made, you know how difficult it is to serve it lukewarm. Very disappointing. Flavor was good but it is hard to enjoy a basically cold soup that is supposed to be served hot. I ordered the French Onion Burger for my entrée. It was a bun with some meat. :-) The burger was very small and definitely appeared to be one of those pre-formed and probably frozen patties you buy in bulk. I want to give this place 5 stars because honestly, the food is so good for your local bar/ pub, but our server may have been the nastiest server I've ever had. I asked for another Diet Coke and literally rolled her eyes at me. My mom asked if the corned beef was roasted or cold cuts, and she said well I don't know. So we asked her to check and she literally huffed off. Just beyond rude and nasty. First off- the fried bread with pub cheese, whoever thought of that is just an absolute genius. Never had anything like it before, but there's something about fried bread and fake cheese that is the best. There was 5 of us at dinner, my parents, my husband and I, and my friend. My husband and dad order steak tidbit sandwich which both of them liked. My mom had corned beef which was excellent, my friend had fish and chips which she said was hot and fresh, and I ordered the special, which was chicken pot pie. Good food terrible service. When we walked in, it wasn't really busy, but we didn't have reservations to sit in the dining room no problem. We said we don't mind sitting at the tables close to the bar. The waitress took forever to come over was extremely rude to the point where we almost got up and walked out. We only ordered a Diet Coke and water. Maybe that's why she got upset and I got a French onion soup her only response was that's it and then walked away in better news. The food was delicious. The burger was cooked to my husband's liking and I got the French on YouTube, but I thought it was amazing. Just wish the server wasn't so nasty and rude. She dropped the check and walked away. Never talk to us after that. Didn't even say good night or goodbye and when we had to leave, it was crowded and walked past her we even said, excuse me, and she didn't even say anything. Sometimes you visit a place that just blows you away with the one and only meal you ever had there - The first meal, on the first visit. That was the case with my wife and me when we recently stopped into the Old Street Pub, in Smithtown New York. As the name denotes, it's very much a pub - but with a nice spacious dining area. We knew nothing about the place, and my expectations were neutral. Ok, it's a pub. I guess we'll eat pub food, which in my experience often can be better than that of finer restaurants. We were seated, and Kimberly promptly visited us to take our drinks order. I had a Great South Bay IPA (an excellent Long Island beer that Old Street has on tap). My wife had a simple hot tea with milk. Kimberly soon came back with our drinks and asked if we had decided. They have a pretty broad menu - appetizers, salads, steaks, burgers, etc. When I visit a new restaurant, I always ask, "What is this place known for?" - To which Kimberly confidently replied, "Steak Sandwiches, Burgers... (she went on)." I stopped her there, and we both decided on the Steak Sandwich. - AND WHAT AN INCREDIBLE CHOICE! The Steak Sandwich comes between toasted bread, topped with onions, mushrooms, and a choice of cheese. We elected to have it all - light on the mozzarella. It also comes with fries, coleslaw, and pickles. We opted to replace the fries with Garlic Mashed Potatoes. My expectations - set by other restaurants - was that the Steak Sandwich would arrive with anything from sliced roast-beef to maybe a very thin steak lookalike. My expectations were low, but we're open-minded. What arrived was an incredible - A Real Steak, perfectly prepared (I like mine medium rare) between thickly cut toasted white bread. HOLLY CRAP!! - It really was amazing! I complimented Kimberly on her suggestion and promised I would write a review to let the world know. I've been going to Old Street Pub since I moved to Smithtown 50 years ago. Unfortunately, the food is not what it used to be.

This restaurant is in a strip mall, with a busy parking lot. You walk into the bar side, which on a Friday night was very crowded and very noisy. You have to walk through the crowd to get to the restaurant podium. We had reservations, and were seated immediately. Our server, Jenna, pleasantly arrived to take our drink order. A complimentary plate of fried bread with a pub cheese spread was served. We ordered the baked clams for an appetizer. Not the best we've had, but not the worst. A nice crust on top, with chopped clams in the mixture, along with pieces of bacon. My husband ordered the Old Street Chicken, basically chicken cordon bleu. He chose a salad instead of soup and fries as a side. He really enjoyed the batter fried chicken, covered with ham and Swiss. I ordered the stuffed shrimp and chose soup, French onion, along with rice pilaf as a side. The french onion soup had a dark, rich broth, and was delicious. The shrimp was stuffed with a crab meat mixture and very good. Jenna provided great service, we never had to ask for a drink refill. Ordered via UberEats tonight. I tried twice and it said it didn't go through because my items in my cart weren't available. I've seen this a lot lately because of all of the closures. I don't fault Old Street Restaurant for this but I received a notification on my phone that my order was ready, I didn't even know it went through. By the time I tried to cancel, it was too late. I called them and they told me they sent me a confirmation, I never received one. Again, I don't fault them for this but it aggravated me. My husband went to pick up the food and as soon as I opened it, the order was wrong. First of all, $14 for a sampler platter that consisted of 3 frozen mozzarella sticks, 2 frozen onion rings 2 frozen potato skins and 2 frozen chicken fingers. The marinara sauce was the worst I've ever tasted. My chicken wrap was pretty decent but I ordered onion rings (and paid extra for them) and received about 14 fries instead. Pretty aggravated but the 2 onion rings I received in the sampler platter were gross anyway. Also, the fries had no seasoning whatsoever. Came for late lunch. Thought about burgers but i saw the BLT and that was it. My friend was also burger minded but there was a hot turkey meal in the menu and waitress recommend it so he got that. He got a full meal with dressing, mashed and gravy enough for leftovers. My BLT came with fresh potato chips just perfect. Will be coming back to check out if burgers just as good! read more

Waitress came around and took our drink orders and about 15 minutes later we got our drinks and also received a plate of fried toast and a cheddar cheese spread. The cheddar cheese spread was absolutely amazing. It was super delicious and the toast was awesome. For an app I split wings with 2 other people and got them well done. Very crispy and delicious as well. I got their famous steak sandwich as my entree which was served on white toast which I was a bit weary about but it tasted absolutely amazing. My steak was cooked medium and was cooked perfectly. Very tender and juicy. I substituted my fries for onion rings and boy am I glad I did. The onion rings were absolutely delicious and crispy. The first time my husband and I ate here with friends it was great. The second time, late in December, was absolutely awful. We had a reservation for 6 people, and arrived a few minutes early. Even though there were empty tables in the dining room large enough to accommodate our group, we were left standing by the hostess stand for another 15 minutes beyond our reservation time. Why? Who knows. Our waitress, who was the same one we had the first time, was terrible, and really ruined what should have been a great birthday celebration with family. She made us feel like an imposition, messed up drink orders, ended up not even bothering to bring the last two drinks ordered, and was annoyed when we said we would not be ordering dessert. She snatched that dessert menu off the table so fast I almost got clipped in the face by it. Solid Pub/Bar Restaurant located in Smithtown in huge strip mall. Had their 5 star French Onion Soup to start, depth of flavor just needed a little more salt, was cheesy and delicious. The wing zingers were a surprise, crunchy breaker and perfectly fried dipped in excellent buffalo wing sauce with a side of blue cheese. My lunch partner had a killer cheeseburger platter with a properly toasted bun, beer battered onion rings and fries were on point. That burger came with side of pickles and cole slaw. The Chicken Bourbon street was fair. The grilled chicken was good, but the Cajun creamy sauce was thin and barely has any taste. There was the slightest hint of Cajun spice to it. Tasted more like an Alfredo sauce. The Old Streets Cheese and Crackers were burnt, much better in the restaurant. The Black Jack Burger was undercooked and under seasoned. It's been awhile since I've been able to get back to Old Street but I had a craving for their Marinated Sandwich... rumored to be The Best on LI. Well, I can reconfirm that it is indeed a masterpiece... a generous slab of shell steak, served on toast with French Fries and other fixings. My two companions, were persuaded try to try it & concurred by devouring all of it. The price has increased a bit to $18.95 but no complaints from me..it's worth every penny. {Private Party Event Review} From Start to Finish my Cousins Communion Party 5/5/18 went off without a hitch! I recommend considering Old Street for a number of private parties (bridal shower, baby shower, rehearsal dinner, baptism, communion...etc.). The Restaurant was very accommodating when it came to using a DJ & having a Black Jack Dealer come. The Private Room that was used was absolutely excellent for around 45 people, but could have definitely fit more. The room was large enough to sit comfortably. Also the DJ fit perfectly in the front of the room! I also liked that the private room is very separate from the rest of the Restaurant. The color coordinated linen on the tables looked great and the room was set up nice and early so when I arrived I was able to immediately sit. The service was SPECTACULAR! Pitchers of Soda & Water on the table were great and refills were given as soon as something ran out (that includes the appetizer & bread basket). The Waitresses were outstanding and really made the entire event special. The Bartenders also made excellent drinks! (Try the Tequila Honeysuckle, thank me later) The food drastically exceeded all of my expectations!! The dishes were cooked to perfection, the portions were awesome, and the food came out very fresh! I will be reviewing what I tried: Complimentary Fresh FRESH Bread was put on the table with lots of butter packets! The warm bread was fantastic!
