Friendly service, great food, nice space, bar and dinning room. And isn't to expensive.

Back to Old street after 2 years and now providing for an updated review. Unfortunately I was disappointed and now leaving a lesser favorable review. Went there with a group of 8 on a Saturday night with 5:30 reservations. We sat, no issues with the reservation. Our waitress was shockingly pretty rude lol. Our table was short a place set and two menus but it just seemed like she didn't take it well when we told her. Service overall was slow but I think maybe because there didn't appear to be any runners, and the servers brought everything, drinks and food, and generally not enough staff. Drinks were slow to finally get out to us from seating, and food took an hour to get to us. Sadly, the food was just not great. To start, the food was lukewarm and definitely seemed like the it sat in the window. Again, service was not great, but unfortunately the food was not great quality either and assuredly did not match the description of the menu. 3 of our 8 dishes were sent back. The table next to us were equally frustrated with the food and service. Prices too high for what you get. Best part of the meal are those fried bread and chips they give you. Sadly, will not be returning.

My wife and I stopped in for a quick bite. I am glad we did! I ordered a corned beef and French fries and my wife, Maria, had a Danish burger with blue cheese and bacon. Cutting to the chase... it was great! My corned beef was lean and scrumptious and Maria thoroughly enjoyed her burger. To follow up the meal, we split an excellent and fresh carrot cake. Take Aways: 1. Very good price to plate ratio. 2. Excellent service 3. Ample parking 4. Old world charm interior adds to the experience. 5. Do NOT order a cappuccino!

The food was very tasty but the service needs work. As others have pointed out, I too was left abandoned at the front. Couple in front of me were seated and then the young fellow disappeared. I could see him in the back and I know he saw me. Finally the bartender got me a seat. My waiter I had to tell to bring me water. Never a good sign. He had no personality whatsoever. Adequate but hardly award winning in his duties. And it's not like the place was packed.

Solid American/Pub food spot. We ordered takeout and I was impressed with what they gave. I got the California chicken wrap and asked for extra chipotle mayo on the side. It also came with a side of fries (pictured) pickles and coleslaw (packaged separately). I liked that they offer whole wheat wraps and have healthier choices on the menu for a bar and grill. my husband ordered a steak sandwich and was pleased. He also ordered French onion soup and was happy that they packaged the cheese and bread separately so that he could heat it up at home and it wouldn't get all soggy. The staff was very friendly over the phone. My husband said it was packed inside and the bar area had a lot of people socializing. Casual local spot.

This was my first time at this lovely place. My dinner mates said Old Street Restaurant has been a smithtown fixture since the 80s. Good thing. The folks who live in close proximity are fortunate to have the food it offers near. I had Club decker sandwich but on a hero!!! The bread was fresh and loaded with turkey, beef and chicken salad. The fries were hot and fresh. As an appetizer we shared wingettes. Hot! And not greasy. Delish The reason for not giving five stars: parking can be tight on Friday nights. Also the women's bathroom can use some work. Two stalls. One sink. Poor hot water pressure. Despite these two deficits, I would go back.

We have been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile now. We are very happy we did. Very cool relaxing atmosphere with that old time style. Everything was clean and inviting. We ordered the chicken caprese and the steak sandwich. Both were very good. Service was excellent. We will be back.

They offer a variety of exceptional seafood & sushi dishes, none of which you can go wrong with along with great drink selections. I recently stopped by here for dinner with my boyfriend. I noticed that they incorporated a prix fixe menu so I took advantage of that. I ordered the wedge salad appetizer, everything crusted tuna with sides of spinach & wasabi mashed potatoes. And for dessert I chose the fudge layer cake. The tuna was perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes had just the right amount of wasabi to give it flavor, but not so much that it was spicy. My only criticism would be that the service was a bit on the slow side. It took some time for my drink to arrive and had some difficulty getting waiter's attention for a simple water refill. Although I ate here on a weekday night, it seemed a lot less busy than I remember it. Hopefully that's just because it was a slow week.

But like other reviews mentioned, the food and ambiance are lackluster. The sushi here is very plain and not worth it. For the price point and having thought this restaurant was known for their seafood, I was underwhelmed. I had two sushi dishes and both were misses. My partner got the chimichurri filet tips, which he said were inconsistently seasoned and bland. The potatoes were good, though, and it's unfortunate that this had the most flavor overall. I was surprised that the decor on the inside felt a bit outdated and I couldn't hear anyone at my table because of the noise here. For the price point, everything didn't seem to add up. I don't think I'll ever go here again--it's difficult to reconcile the price point with the quality of the food and setting.

Unfortunately, things have definitely changed. The vibe that once made this place special just isn't there anymore. On a Friday night, the atmosphere feels flat, and even the lighting could use some work (Too Bright) it would benefit from being dimmed to create a more inviting and energetic setting. The staff doesn't seem as engaged as they once were, and sadly, the food isn't hitting the same either. The biggest disappointment, however, has been the music. The DJs don't seem to know how to read the crowd. When most of the room is sitting down and barely even bobbing their heads, it's probably time to switch things up and get some energy flowing. The one bright spot is Mike behind the bar. He's still on point, keeps the drinks coming, and provides the level of service that keeps customers happy. I truly enjoyed this place in the past, which makes it even more disappointing to see it heading in this direction. I'm hoping management takes notice and brings back the atmosphere that made people want to keep coming back.
